Is a hug buddy a thing? I need someone what is available just for a short amount of time and can meet for a hug. The weird thing is I would have to feel safe and secure with the person for it to be enjoyable.
I've had friends who have had a hard day and I have offered to meet him just for a hug.
Wraps my arms around you and squeezes tight.
If a hug buddy isn't a thing it definitely should be!
I had an online check-in buddy for a while. It wasn't like getting short hugs, but it was nice to have a tiny connection to someone not involved in any of my nonsense.
Anyway, a hug buddy sounds great
other than the logistics
A Hug Buddy?! ~ Yes please, and where do I sign up??
Sounds amazing! 🤗
Cool
Hug Buddies should definitely be a thing. Just like there are different ways to cuddle, there are also different ways to hug that feel comforting in different ways.
Hugs are something you give, receive or share.....not take......a mini or micro cuddle. Can also be as simple as shaking hands or holding hands or reassuring squeeze.....all can transfer energy by that small bit of contact. HUGS is also a great way to close an email, text or voicemail, if you can't be with them physically.
HUGS to you all....have a great day.
hugs are the best! And you’re in the right place

That's not weird.
I TOTALLY had a hug buddy before. He knew that he was really good at giving hugs and also knew that in some situations, it was all he could offer to help. Nevertheless, I definitely think it's a thing, I just don't think that people label it as such. I think we should though, at least so you and that person understands the presence of that need and are willing to participate. Sometimes you just need a long hug, but we don't have a word for that quite yet. 😅
"That's not weird."
It really isn't. Safety, security, warmth, comfort... It's all integral to what people want and/or need from a hug or cuddle.
I have a work colleague that’s my hug buddy. It’s something that developed naturally and, whenever we’re both in the office, we hug each other about twice a day.
@Maverick07 do you both work in a toxic environment? Just wondering...
@Warmlyhearted Np, I would say no - we work for a microbiology company and, although in any situation there are a couple of people who don't give you a good vibe, I cannot complaint of my professional life at all. But we are are both expats, so family or old friends are not around, and we went through some hard times during our marriages; we lent each other an ear and exchanged experiences - nothing more than that. And one day we hugged and that became a greeting... to build some positive energy and go ahead with our days 🤗
I feel like a hug is so much more personal than a cuddle. I'm afraid to hug someone but not to cuddle with them. I wonder what that means.
