Increase in Requests for Non-Platonic Activity???

Why is it so hard for clients to understand that this is a platonic service only? The amount of requests I've had for nude cuddles or sexual activity is insane. It's on my profile and I reiterate it in conversation, but nope! They still try. It's getting uncomfortable and makes me want to not be a cuddler anymore. You wouldn't go to your doctors office and request non- professional things. Give us the same respect. sigh

    I find that this kind of behavior comes in waves. I have heard that sometimes on fetish websites or sex tourism websites, someone will share the link to this site, saying that you can find a sex worker here, so I think they come in droves before they eventually leave on their own accord or get banned. Recently, I have had to cancel several bookings because they all failed my screening process. I have even had prospective clients cancel on me, lose their deposit, and outright tell me it was because they wanted a sex worker (a pro cuddler who doesn't follow the profession's ethics). They realized I was a legitimate cuddle therapist and that a session with me would be frustrating.

    Hmmm.....perhaps a reflection of geography? Not sure, but maybe Phoenix area is more inclined to imagine that CC could involve more expansive activities? I wonder if pros all over the country respond with the same experiences? Do let us know!

    I do see that you're new to the site, so I'm also wondering how you determine that there's been an increase in requests. Would love to hear from some long-timers to confirm such. If so, perhaps it's a bit due to the relaxing of Covid fear?

    I would suggest not reacting to those inquiries and try to determine if the clients you really want to cuddle with are finding you. If you receive an improper message on the site, don't get upset, simply report to the mods and move on. There are scammers everywhere, and there are folks here seeing what they can get beyond what is offered. It's always a mystery. I remember when ultra-rich/famous Steve Wynn was finally outed a few years ago for propositioning his manicurist for sex work, even though he lived in a town with plenty of beautiful and willing sex-workers. Why wouldn't he contract with someone who actually builds a business of activity he was drawn to? Instead of trying to manipulate someone who clearly wasn't interested?

    The reason is because the service is illegal, but you can't stop consenting adults from seeking it or offering it, so the only way for them to find each other is through deception and assumptions. It absolutely makes sense that people would think that cuddling is a front for sex work, made even worse with how some professionals market themselves and the pictures they choose. 🤷‍♀️

    But in answer to your question, it happens rarely with me, I associate that with my complete absence of sexual photos, but whenever it does, it's incredibly frustrating. There aren't enough people seeking genuinely platonic services. 😔

    @ubergigglefritz - It would make more sense if they just legalized sex work so that websites offering them can exist. Who is it harming if both participants are of age and are consenting to it?

    @Mike403 I think most people agree that sex work should be legalized and that if it’s consensual, it’s not harming anyone. However, when people seek out or offer sex work on cuddling websites, it does actively hurt the cuddling community in multiple ways. It puts both Cuddle therapists and clients in danger, and it stigmatizes our work and makes it less accessible to those who need it

    Sex work is legal here in the UK, and as consequence life is somewhat easier for a professional cuddler - or indeed any woman on CC - than it is in the US.

    um... why not? They can tax it like any other side hustle. I'm sure professional cuddlers here are supposed to pay taxes on their earnings. It's no different.

    @Mike403 exactly. That's my point. They have to go somewhere. If there's no legal place, they'll look elsewhere and put everyone in more danger. 🤷‍♀️ It absolutely should be legalized, so everyone can be more safe (including sex workers).

    I do wonder about photos displayed on profile pages, and if certain kinds of pics increase the inquiries for "more"? If photos show suggestive positions, lots of cleavage, and tongues, for example, do prospective clients assume that more is on the menu? Though I do believe pros should be able to pose any way they want, wear what they think is beautiful, and not be afraid they are being suggestive.....nonetheless, does it bring in more inquiries that are problematic? Have any pros here changed their photos and find that makes a difference?

    And someone please tell me what the sticking out the tongue means and suggests? I have noticed it on many pros albums of pics, though rarely their main one.

    @beaubliss almost any shirt or dress I wear makes it look like I’m a jiggle away from falling out and I just find it so unfair that some ppl think I look like a hussy unless I’m wearing a baggy turtleneck…. 😓
    Just yesterday I had someone talking to me wanting to book a session and thought I would be into “fun stuff” simply because I’m wearing a tank top and I have boobs….

    @beaubliss I have always had only professional looking pictures with t-shirts on (been doing this for almost 5 years) and while I do get some poor inquiries, I really feel like I get fewer than it sounds like people say they do... 🤷‍♀️

    @beaubliss my impression is that it does make a small or modest difference. However, I suspect the difference is caused more by subtle effects than obvious ones. In other words it's as much about almost imperceptible details such as the facial expression or the precise pose. Half a millimetre there, a relaxed eye muscle there.

    To be very honest, @Cuddlebunnyxo -- if the requests sometimes worked at the doctor's office, people absolutely would keep trying. The reason that cuddlers (and massage therapists, too) get these types of sexual advances is because some (certainly a minority) of cuddlers and therapists provide said services. It's simple logic -- if the answer was never "yes," the question wouldn't be asked.

    As @ubergigglefritz pointed out above: since sexual services are illegal in most of our jurisdictions, providers and clients alike have to engage in deception to find those services. The desire to buy and sell sex will never go away (there's a reason it's called "the world's oldest profession") but the methods adapt around the restrictions that society enforces.

    So realistically, CC (and other cuddling sites) are always going to have some people interested in buying or selling sexual services. It would serve everyone better if these services could be legally advertised somewhere else, keeping cuddling sites and their visitors 100% platonically-minded, all of the time.
