What is your cuddle playlist?

edited January 2023 in General

This is a topic that is probably on here a lot, but I don’t wanna resurrect old posts so I’m gonna make a new one. (Sorry if that’s against protocol!) Also I meant for this to be separate from the “What music are you all listening to?” thread.

Do you have a playlist that you put on when cuddling? For me, I’m usually like, “Alexa, play peaceful meditation music” and it will start this Spotify playlist.

I also keep hearing this song on Instagram and I really like it.

When I have a guest over for cuddling, i usually have K-EARTH playing in the background, which is mostly an 80s band radio station

  • I cuddled a special person to c@nt crusher by infant annihilator once

  • @pmvines haha omg that is awesome

  • @GreyAndGreen i love that! I already know most of those bands and songs. Also I love El Ten Eleven and have seen them live so many times. Thank you!

I prefer soft classical music, very relaxing and not a distraction.

  • @Charlie_Bear wow that song you posted, “øneheart x reidenshi - snowfall” is really rather lovely. The beginning is slightly off but then it wraps up so beautifully, together with the background and the falling snow. It’s like listening to a snowflake on its journey from above. It’s so intricate and so many images & moments are running through my mind just hearing that small snippet. I wish they developed it more, it deserves a dive into that deep beautiful effervescent ocean. So much potential. I love it. Thanks for sharing.

  • @PrettyLuv oh no prob! And I agree with everything you said, I need more haha

  • Enigma.
    Delirium.
We can agree to disagree about Enya.

  • Darn, I had absorbed this topic idea by osmosis and was going to post it, but finally found this thread because I had a feeling it was already in existence. :# I'm super bummed there aren't more songs being shared! C'mon, peeps! I really would love actual links to the songs you cuddle to! It would be nice to have a (most likely) relaxing playlist. :3

I don't host, so thus far I've never had the opportunity to play music for a cuddle buddy, but here are some I would love to cuddle to, if the opportunity presented itself...

    ...For starters. :p

I would go for about 2 hours worth of Baroque Adagios, and a few modern ones, such as Barber's Adagio for Strings.

  • Any usage of Iron & Wine is a good thing.

I tend to go for some melodic hip hop (like Mac Miller, some Kendrick Lamar, Childish Gambino and Little Simz) and gentle R&B and pop (Frank Ocean, Solange, SZA and Chloe x Halle).

  • My list for cuddling music begins with the idea that the list isn’t necessarily for me but is for me. In other words I want it for the background, non-intrusive, soft yet interesting—something they may ask who is this because it is different in a relaxing way. What I don’t want are Top 40 songs, hip-hop, country or heavy metal because those genres/artists can be so instantly recognizable that they can evoke a love/hate response for a cuddle partner, but I have found soft but different works on the brain when conversation ends and silence begins. Nothing against the other genres mentioned but not for cuddling. Context is everything.

With that being said I look for atmospheric music which avant-grade, dream pop and movie soundtracks are very good at accomplishing. I am not looking for depressing or joy—just relaxing shallow breath pieces.

@TeaBabe @timbear50 I love the French band Air and have an entire playlist of 70+ songs of theirs. Moon Safari is a masterpiece but I added a couple below that aren’t from the Moon Safari album.

Psilocybin Research: Johns Hopkins, Sacred Knowledge, William A. Richards https://open.spotify.com/playlist/5KWf8H2pM0tlVd7niMtqeU

This is a great playlist for relaxing. It's also the playlist used for psychedelic research at John Hopkins University. I've been to many places with this.
