  • Medium dark roast in a union yes! mug, please!

  • Once a year I end up with some holiday spirit while doing some Christmas shopping and get a peppermint mocha something or other. Otherwise I drink my coffee black and really don't care for theirs at all

    vanilla iced latte 🥰

  • @bobadevotee you can do that? I'm a chai latte type myself because I just don't do coffee, but that sounds lovely!

  • Something from Dutch bros or Red Leaf, lol

Funny. I’m sitting in a Dunkin Donuts right now drinking an iced Cold Brew as I read this. I’m very boring with my coffee. Just like skim milk.

Depends on the time of year! Right now I’m all about a brown sugar latte with oat milk. When it’s fall, I’m a super basic girl and love me a pumpkin spice. In the summer time, it’s all about the iced drinks!

  • Mmmm right now it’s a
Strawberry açai with a green tea lemonade base 💕💕💕💕

Just switched to a home espresso machine. My roommate made me coffee a few minutes ago... wait a second.... this tastes like instant coffee... did you get espresso beans? NOPE! I DO appreciate the thought. Going to Starbucks then the store. hahaha

  • @stormydaycuddle For a reliable Starbucks equivalent, I recommend Peet's Major Dickinson's Roast as espresso, with whole milk, microwaved for 90 seconds. That's assuming you like lattes.

  • I prefer tea, but when I do go to Sbux I get a decaf coffee or the medicine ball.

@cde123 I worked at a boutique coffee shop for 5 years. I can taste a bad shot whether its sour, has been pulled to long, too short or burnt. This was next level bad this morning. I like all coffee. :) Except regular coffee pulled through an espresso machine. Apparently, I have my limits.

It was sad because my roommate even got a grinder. Preground turns sour faster from the oils in the coffee. If you grind in small batches it lasts longer without preservatives.
For anymore unsolicited coffee tips...I'll be around hahaha

  • Somebody turned me onto a drink, called the medicine ball which I like a lot. I don't know what's in it but I know it has ginger. My go to favorite is a hot chai latte.

  • @Bear the medicine ball is made out of peach tranquility tea, jade citrus mint tea, half hot water, half steamed lemonade, and a pump of peppermint syrup.

  • @stormydaycuddle At least you didn't call me out on microwaving the milk 🤣
Yeah, I tried high end espresso for a while, but got annoyed that it goes stale too quickly. I hate adjusting my grind all the time. I don't know how Peet's processes their beans but it seems to be magic in terms of consistency.

Dirty Chai Latte with probably 3 too many espresso shots hahaha

  • Ask for directions to somewhere the coffee isn't burnt. They make good coffee flavored milkshakes but not good coffee.

@MDW I usually get fraps when I go so yeah...
@cde123 frothing milk correctly isn't taught in HS. I'm not judging the microwave. Neither are taxes for that matter...

I'm probably going to be boo'ed, but I really don't like Starbucks coffee. It's just too strong for me.

  • @QuietCuddler61 I most definitely have to agree with you. They may have gotten a little better since seeing what other roasters are doing and copying them but the original coffee was burnt like a overcook steak. I have turned several of my friends over to local coffee shops that roast their own coffee and make sure it is fair trade.

Years ago I went to a coffee tour in Cleveland, and the guy that owns the coffee shop called Pour, this man a is a lawyer and he would only go to Starbucks because it was the thing to do when he was in a hurry to get a cup just for a pick up. One day he went to New York City on business and got a pour over coffee. He said he didn’t realize how good coffee was so he quit his lawyer firm and opened a coffee shop in Cleveland.

Funny story, my friend who always drink dark Starbucks coffee I tried to tell him that coffee is no good, so I took him on a tour with me to this coffee shop, and the first thing out of the coffee shop owners mouth was, who here likes dark coffee, my friend raised his hand very exuberantly thinking that he was going to get me. The owner said there will be no dark coffee here. We all busted out laughing.

I think you can make a good dark coffee it’s not that easy though. But dark coffee is just over roasting the beans and I’ve never liked well-done steak it doesn’t have any taste. So I think of it the same way.

  • I buy green coffee beans and home roast. It's a weekly thing. I put the vent on high on my stove, run my coffee batch, and between 15.8 and 16.5 minutes later, I have a nice medium roast for the week. French press, baby. Add in oat milk and all is well in the world: for me, for you, for the public at large. When I roast, the neighborhood smells divine.

I can spend $130-150 every 8-9 months for 20 pounds in 1 to 5 pound bags because I like variety (Sumatra, Indonesian Blue Moon, Ethiopian Hambela, India Mysore...) The same amount of coffee drinks at Starbucks/Peets would cost about $3250. Buying 1 pound whole coffee beans can run from $12-$30/bag, depending on your flavor of choice. All that said, I roast beans and enjoy coffee for the art and taste, not the cost.

    Now on to cup #2.

  • I only use there bathrooms

  • @Sideon if I was in your neighborhood I would probably stroll by with money in hand😝
