Hello again cuddly friends. Part of me wants to apologize for making multiple video game threads in a community that is probably not filled with many gamers, but I also love talking video games and want to know what you all are nostalgic for. Since there were not as many handhelds each generation (and let's face it, Nintendo has absolutely dominated this space), I am instead going to ask what your favorite handheld was/is. And this is in no was an exhaustive list.

    That is a tough one, but Iā€™m gonna go with the gameboy advance lots of great games originals and remakes on that and I think the one series if I remember correctly that stands out that was an exclusive to that system was advance wars, and I loved that game

    @lonelytauros I had the exact same predicament. The GBA just has such a big library and soooo many good games, I had to land on that one. Plus it's a really fun/easy system to mod.

    I also just realized I didn't include the SP and Micro alongside the GBA. I am sorry GBA for doin ya dirty.

    If anyone picks the Vita.... How incompatible it was hurt my head. They promised to have Kingdom Hearts and then didn't. False advertising.

    @lonelytauros yep it had the flip top screen, and even had frontlit and backlit versions. Nowadays they have IPS screens that you can swap in for some crispy visuals.

    @Sideon Sounds like I need another poll! =) My off-topic threads will fill the forums if I'm not careful.

    @stormydaycuddle right? And I hate that they went with their super expensive proprietary Memory Stick Pro Duo instead of the super cheap SD/Micro-SD card for downloaded games. At least now there is the SD2Vita adapter. And don't get me started on the insane naming/numbering they did for the Kingdom Hearts series omg.

    Haha I cannot believe that right now, according to the votes received so far, the Game Boy/Game Gear/DS/PSP/Steam Deck are right now tied with the N-Gage! THE N-GAGE!!

    I guess I should have taken the taco phone more seriously.

    I never had a handheld game when I was younger. I would use my moms. I didn't even know Atari had a handheld system. I occasionally play with my Nintendo switch now.

    N-Gage's votes have to be trolling, though I remember some Gamestop clerks obsessing over them in the old days on how they were going to be the end of Nintendo.

    Although the DS was quite revolutionary, I had to go with PSP, as I got it air dropped to me in the middle of the Pacific Ocean with monster hunter...some coworkers and I spent many many hours playing that, def helped morale and pass time.

    Also, yes, enjoyed all the Tamagotchi... I'm still always thinking how I can bring them back

    Character creation meme is so valid :-)
    Though NGL, on games with lots of alts, I hit randomize and go. 98% of the time don't get to see the character model anyways, hehe.
