I teach preschool, and today in music class the kids were pretending to be different animals while music was playing. We came to a part where they were supposed to be pretending to be birds. One of my little girls had her pointer finger and thumb up by her mouth to represent a beak. She looks at me and says "Look, I have a pecker!" Beak = pecker. 😂🤣🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂

I do a lot of traveling, and when doing this and looking around you see everyone is looking pretty miserable during the transition periods (at the airport/border/hotel waiting line). I get it, it's frustrating and you just want to relax but it's all hurry up and wait, so most of the folks are miserable.
Me? I enjoy the downtime with my thoughts, so I try and chop it up with he attendents and usually get a bunch of jokes going. When they break down and start giggling, that's when I smile. Currently in transit now so I'm loving every moment of it.
@ohnonotagain I travel a ton and this is my routine:
I refuse to stoop to misery when modern science can rectify it.
And everyone that travels frequently for work has their own ways I am sure.
I think one of us needs to start a business traveler thread, but I am at an airport right now, and you know, I was at the cell phone parking lot a few minutes back.

@FunCartel edibles and one of those expensive portable vaporizers by the volcano people and I usually just vape it in an area with little foot traffic near the front door. Those edibles make the long flights much more enjoyable than being drunk as shit. All types of trains I need something to hold onto especially when top heavy with a back pack.

My kinder student cried when she saw me in the morning. I asked why she was sad. She said she missed me. I was out with Covid for over a week.

I may have also teared up just a little bit. XD I really miss having a pet. And giving a senior animal a chance is definitely something I like to see. ^^

@EarthlyAngel003 That's so sweet. I had a sudden urge a month or two ago, to someday adopt a senior parrot. There are tons of them in rescues in their 40's, whose owners have passed away so they've lost their family but they will live on for decades more. I just really want to give them a loving home and family for the remainder of their lives, I don't want them to feel abandoned and alone.
We're not allowed more pets than our one dog, at our rental, but someday... 🦜
