So, I first need to start cuddling, but I would need to be extremely comfortable with the person the same sex as me first.

Maybe after I have cuddled a number of times, it won't feel as awkward for me.

I think I’d actually prefer cuddling the same gender as me more so women. I think it’s because I feel I have more of an understanding with them and I’d be more comfortable since there’s no fear of SA.

  • I love everyone ideas and opinions here.

Over the last two days I have had two same gender sessions my wife has also had two and today we did a double session with another couple who were straight but were keen to try a same gender for a few minutes, It was very tentative to start but the couple did relax and when they went back to cuddle each other there was a definite edge in their cuddles.

  • Wow that's fantastic @scorpio2112 !!!!

  • I don’t know why platonic cuddles wouldn’t be safe for all gender expressions. If our personal traumas or insecurities make us discriminate against clients, that’s another word for implicit bias… and I don’t think we belong here without that resolved or working to be resolved. That’s my 2 cents.

  • @Eileen_98144 your 2 cents is $1,000!! I agree with you 💯💯

  • The couple who came last week and tried same gender cuddling came back to us yesterday and asked for a slightly longer same gender cuddle. What we did this time is started as our couples then swapped so I was with the lady then swapped again a few minutes later so I was with her husband. This we feel made it less tentative for them and they certainly were more relaxed that last week.

  • @scorpio2112 Thank you very much for the update about the couples cuddling! I have done couples cuddling before too and it’s amazing!

@Eileen_98144 you make a good point. Perhaps implicit bias is a wedge for me on the issue, but I’m more worried about that coming through during the actual session. I would hate to make the experience a bad one for the cuddlee, especially on a paid session. I guess I would have to practice a few sessions for free to work that out before opening up my profile to same gender cuddling.

  • @MrAdmirer I appreciate your view as well. Sometimes you have to take small steps towards trying something new. But it is a great experience.

  • @MrAdmirer Awesome insight and empathy!

  • I’m very much open to cuddling the same gender or more femme presenting people though I don’t get many inquires, if not any at all. I hope that changes because I’d love to. :(

  • @peachinthecity ask and you shall receive!!!! It will be here before you know it.

  • The couple we have been seeing who wanted to try same gender cuddling came back for a third time yesterday. We did a much longer same gender session and there is a definite edge to them both as they are getting used to it.We switched back later so they cuddled each other and then I cuddled the lady and my wife the man. They want to come back next week and we agreed we try all four cuddling together switching between us.

  • @scorpio2112 you guys are on a roll!!!!

@AGnihon All of those make sense except for the v first part, younger males are much more likely to be criminals, if going by statistics.

But yes I agree that I’m grateful there are women that will roll the dice with us males.

@KozyKim Yes I think many men (and probably women too) only get human touch from their romantic relationships.

As a straight person, it's understandable to question why you would want to cuddle with people of the same sex, given that cuddling is often seen as a platonic activity. However, it's important to remember that physical touch is a natural and essential human need, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.

Cuddling with someone of the same sex can be incredibly beneficial for a number of reasons. Firstly, it can provide a sense of comfort and emotional intimacy that may be difficult to achieve through other means. Physical touch releases oxytocin, which is often referred to as the "cuddle hormone" and is associated with feelings of bonding and closeness.

Moreover, cuddling with people of the same sex can also help to combat feelings of loneliness and isolation. Many people, particularly men, are often discouraged from expressing vulnerability or seeking physical touch, which can lead to feelings of social isolation and loneliness. Cuddling with same-sex friends can help to create a sense of connection and intimacy that can be difficult to find elsewhere.

It's also worth noting that cuddling with someone of the same sex does not necessarily imply anything about your sexual orientation. Sexual attraction and physical touch are not mutually exclusive, and many people enjoy cuddling with friends and loved ones without any sexual connotations.

In short, cuddling with people of the same sex can be a positive and fulfilling experience that can provide emotional comfort, combat feelings of loneliness, and help to create deeper connections with others. As long as all parties involved are comfortable and consenting, there's no reason not to explore this platonic form of physical touch

  • Lovely response, @Francisco108 ! 🥰

  • I have never cuddled a female before but I def would! <3

I'll tell you a story. I grew up in a Jewish house hold, that was kosher, but not quite down to the letter of the law, in that we did not follow the prohibition against eating both meat and dairy products at the same meal. My grand parents were all very strictly kosher.

One Friday (circa 1950), the family gathered at my (maternal) grandparents' house for Shabbat (Sabbath) dinner, as we always did. We all knew that the meal would be chicken. It always was. However, on this Friday, my mother had brought along some margarine, and gave it to her mother. The response was immediate. "No! Take it away!" "But Mom, this isn't butter. It's called margarine, and there's no milk in it. It's made from vegetable oil. It's pareve (neither meat, nor dairy)." "I don't care! I don't like the look of it!" End of discussion.

Similarly, there is no rational reason why I shouldn't cuddle with men, but "I don't like the look of it."

  • @GreatHornedOwl Thank you for sharing life experiences, views and insight.

  • @GreatHornedOwl Nice analogy for why I'd rather not cuddle with men. Grew up with a certain mentality that makes it that there's no rational reason why not to, but there is a strong ick factor.

  • @GreatHornedOwl @sunnysideup good points, and I agree. Logically, I know that there's no reason why cuddling with another man wouldn't be an enjoyable experience. But I don't think I could be comfortable enough to enjoy it.

Given my limited time and budget for cuddling, I don't feel the need to "force things" by trying a cuddle with a man. If I had unlimited time and money, and were booking cuddle sessions every week (or even multiple times per week!) then sure, maybe I'd give it a shot. But with having a cuddle opportunity only once per month (or less), I'm not going to take a chance on "wasting" a session. Does that make sense?

  • @WiserGuy3000 yes that does make sense it is always tentative to start and you do ideally have to have that curious part in you to get the adrenalin going. The couple who are doing same gender cuddling with us are coming to us on a regular basis so are getting used to it. The man when I first met him had nerves but wanted to try it he did confess he didn't think he would be comfortable doing it hence we only did it for a short time.

  • @scottdc297 what do you mean when you say that there was a.charge? I've.seen you use that term several times in your posts

  • The couple came back yesterday and we agreed first we try all four cuddling together switching between us.This worked really well the man is getting used to same gender cuddling ,his wife we feel is ahead of him in terms of confidence..We then did same gender cuddling for half an hour my guy is getting more used to eye gazing and hair stroking and I do include gentle massage of the lower back and shoulders. His wife and my wife have developed a very strong connection, my wife says she feels her lady has alot of inner passion. We see this when they get back and cuddle together for the last half an hour there is much more closeness between them now.

Reported. Reviewed. Removed. This is a platonic site, @supadupa . There is ZERO reason to reference erotica. [-Sid]

Personally, I'm of the opinion that if something makes me uncomfortable despite not having a logical reason ... It's worth digging into deeper, not ignoring or shrugging away. And that's exactly what I've done with touch and cuddling in general - first by getting more touchy feely with romantic partners, then gradually with a few trusted platonic friends, then at some cuddle parties, and now through professional cuddling. For me it wasn't gender that was the hindrance but just touch trauma in general I had to overcome and completely relearning how to do boundaries and consent.

I cannot recommend cuddle parties enough, seriously. They're an amazing opportunity to learn and practice consent and boundary skills, communication both verbal and non-verbal, and to get comfortable cuddling people of all types regardless of gender, size, appearance, etc. It's gentle exposure therapy in a way, in a safe environment with guidance and where you always have the option to step out. And if you have social anxiety like I do, there are smaller parties that are a lot easier to handle - especially if you meet with the host ahead of time. Or you can attend with a friend/partner.

P.S. @scorpio2112 I'm loving following the progress of the couple with you and your wife! That sounds like such a great way to ease into things.
