I average around 6, how about you?
I don't think it's enough. I probably get around six as well.
Same here. It would be enough if it was restful sleep as I seem to spend much of the time dreaming..
4 to 6, even when I don't have to get up I find it impossible to sleep in
Average 4 . Insomnia has always been an issue fir me
I find that I get the best sleep once my body clock is aligned to a specific time and I still have the freedom to get up or doze on.
Classically I haven't been able to function if I go less than 10ish hours. I left a full-time, high-stress, low-pay job at the beginning of the fall that really messed with my sleep quality. If I slept half the day on my days off, it wouldn't be enough. And I'd fall into depression easily.
Usually I have the hardest time getting to sleep.
Fast forward 5 or so months, and now that I have the freedom to either wake up after 4-6 hours or continue hugging my pillow, I'm definitely more of a morning person now when I feel like being one. So I think for me the variable is environmental.
I’ve never been a good sleeper. Takes me a long while to get to sleep and I wake up frequently through the night. So I’m in bed 8-9 hours a night, I’m lucky if 5 good hours of sleep.
I average 4 hours, not good for health. Hopefully will be able to get more after summer!
I don't sleep, I wait.
A night? Rarely any. My main profession involves a lot of graveyard shift work. But as for sleeping during the day, I’d say about six, but often not even that and never unbroken, not anymore. I tend to wake up every few hours, sometimes if it’s really bad, every hour.
Also, goodness no, I don’t think it’s nearly enough.
depends on what all i'm doing but 5-9 hours in general with the average being more 7-8. i prefer to get 8-9 because i dream more vividly with that much sleep and wake feeling more refreshed
Usually 4 hours of sleep for me, and it's definitely not enough. I'm always yawning throughout my work day. It's nearly 3AM and my brain won't shut up and let me sleep.
^ same haha
i haven’t slept in 3 days now, i’m sick and lonely.
not sleeping(much?) for three days is awful. I find if I get very little sleep for three days I am just miserable.
My body needs a lot of rest, so I make it a top priority to protect my sleep time. I'd say I average about 9 hours a night. Rarely do I ever set an alarm. It was a big life goal for me to be able to sleep when I feel tired and to wake up naturally when my body is ready, so I created a life that allows for this. I used to struggle terribly with insomnia, but found a quality magnesium supplement to do the trick in helping my body to relax and improve quality of sleep. CBD oil can also be very helpful, especially when paired with a nice sleep meditation (hello youtube!) every night to reprogram the brain for better sleep hygeine! These are also great remedies for anxiety. Oh and melatonin is a great sleep aid to correct the way artificial light can disrupt our natural sleep regulation system. There are also some good night time light filters/apps for electronic devices worth checking out.
4 hours last night. Not enough!
Today I expect random doze-offs, head-wobbling (following by neck-snapping awakening), heavy eyelids and a desperate 2 pm rush to the kitchen to stuff my face full of kit kats and reese's peanut butter cups to stay awake.
Actually that last part happens regardless but still...
Won't be pretty.
No coffee?
I usually get the full 8hrs.
I usually sleep 7 to 8 hours sometimes 9 if Im sick or feeling like I need extra me time totally agree with you @jrose I love the luxury of sleeping as long as I need. And am totally with you on the guided meditations. I dont take medications but I do use thc vape pens to help me sleep. Im also love journalling my dreams and interpretations when I wake up, so I like to sleep for longer periods of time so I can experience my dreams longer ^~^
Oh yes @Brandi, dreams are fun! I used to keep a dream journal. Might have to start that up again. My dreams are so silly and weird, it would be good for a laugh at the very least.
One of the reasons why I don’t get enough sleep is because my Wife likes to stay up late and I don’t like to go to bed alone so I end up waiting for her. She wakes up later than I do and ends up getting more sleep.
I'm lucky if I get 3 consecutive hrs
My sleep patterns are very random. I sometimes stay awake for 24, 36, 48, or even 72 hours. I can get by with as little as 3 hours, but I'm much more comfortable with 5 or 6 hours. I've been known to sleep as long as 15 hours, but that is rare. The last few days, I've only been able to sleep about 2 hours at a time, but probably a total of about 6. I usually stay up all night and sleep in the mornings, but even that is variable. The fact that I sometimes do background acting, and get call times of anytime of the day or night, makes my sleep patterns(??) work for me rather than against me. The fact that I'm retired allows me to live with my weird hours. Jim
