I find it most annoying when people complain about how things or times have changed. They are supposed to change. This is the world we live in, and we encounter so many different people every day. I think having the ability and desire to grow and change is important. Most important on a site like this where we are connecting with strangers.

@CharlesInWI you hit one of the nails squarely on the head. And then we're considered "ungrateful" if we don't thank them for said unsolicited judgement even if it was supposedly positive.
And like, who tf are they to think that my day/life are magically going to get better because of the random opinion of a random stranger? 😂😂😂
I'm quite happy being my Eeyore self sans unsolicited opinions, tyvm.
Being on certain social media sites like instagram, posting a pic ends up getting lots of "compliments" but they just feel empty when it's "you're so pretty", "gorgeous", "you look beautiful", etc. Now if I took the time to dress up, do my hair and stuff like I did for the wedding, the compliments hit differently from close friends and family. 🤔🤷♀️
@LadyVel I agree whenever I change my profile picture on Facebook I make sure that it’s not publicly known that I changed it. Because when I did (and I’m not being ungrateful) I would get so many post about you’re gorgeous you’re beautiful but I agree with you it’s kind of empty because it’s something that I did not have much to do with.
I remember a time I think I was 17 I was out to dinner with my parents and the waiter when the bill came said your daughters on the house because she’s so beautiful. That never sat well with me. So if I wasn’t so beautiful I would have to pay it just didn’t seem right. It’s honestly just the package wrapping. How often does someone that gets a gift just go on and on and on about the package’s wrapping😬
I do have one client that he says I’m beautiful every five minutes. That may be an exaggeration. But for some reason it doesn’t seem to bother me because it seems like he saying it about my whole being not just my face or whatever.
My favorite compliment I ever got, when I was at a bar and this band that was playing played everything from the 30s to present day and I was in the flow just dancing to everything and somehow I was able to improvise and come up with the dance for everything song. And the guy I dance with most of the night says I’ve never seen a dancer like you, you can just dance to anything. I never forgot that compliment.
Sometimes I wonder why a lot of the beautiful girls are so mean it’s probably because they’ve just valued for their looks:(
@KozyKim - You are a beautiful woman, and I'm referring to all of you, not just your appearance. I think that you've hit on why I have always tended to avoid women who merely look beautiful. All too often, they simply want to rely on their looks.
