What are you thankful for today?

Needing to hear some positivity! I’ll start off..

Today, I’m thankful that I have a running car. Whether it’s to get to work, or just to go out on drives in the countryside.. it sure makes life a lot easier!

This is a good and timely idea. I have lots to be thankful for.
    Safe comfortable place to live.
    Reliable transportation
    Relatively good health
    A few wonderful friends
    Gainful employment
And a cuddle partner once in a while

  • I’m thankful for a good sip of water after a long day … truly it is hard for me to count all that I’m thankful for

So many things in my life for which I am thankful .... Today it is a nice hot meal at the end of the day and beautiful spring weather that has allowed me to open my windows and feel the spring air.

  • Air conditioning

  • Today I'm thankful for naps, grocery delivery services, and the peacefulness of living alone 🥰

I'm thankful for the gorgeous breeze coming through the windows right now, as spring washes over us! 🌤💐🌱

  • I’m thankful that we’ve gotten smarter since the 1800s 😬

I was in a punk band in Long Beach named, “Deranged Masturbation” back in the 1990’s.

We only played one show, but it was a heck of a show.

    Before the cops showed up.

  • 100 years earlier and you would have been locked up! 🤣

@Matt462 Honestly, if we hadn’t gotten the warning that the cops were arriving we all might have been arrested.

    Always tip your bouncers.

@Matt462 These would make some of the coolest usernames here 👍

If I switch mine this year I am leaning towards …. @BadHabitsPoliticalExcitement

  • I bet the guys constantly complaining about not getting responses, let alone cuddle time, would be fighting over the “imaginary female trouble” moniker.

  • @snuffeatingfor2years isnt too bad a user name 😲

  • What would be the symptoms of the “Rumor of Husband Murdered” diagnosis? Laughter and glee?

  • Wouldn't you go to a "regular" hospital for "Gunshot Wound" ? 🤔

  • Always thankful for my babygirl. 26 years old and still contacts me daily 💕

Sorry had to block her face out 🤷🏻‍♂️

  • So many things!! Gratitude overwhelms me as of late for my tribe. My friends and family who share meals, time and their lives with me. 💖

I suppose today I'm thankful for my health. It's Patriots day in Massachusetts, where I am originally from. It's when the Boston Marathon is run. It's a bittersweet day for me because my ex-wife is running it - her wave just started. This is her second Boston run and she is looking to get a good enough time to qualify for the New York City marathon. I was in track in high school but stopped running for many years until we both started running about 10 years ago. I'm 6 years older than her and I finally completed my first (and only) marathon at Tobacco Road in Cary, NC at the ripe young age of 51. I don't run races anymore but still run 20+ miles a week. When wave 1 of the non pro runners started at 10am, I joined them here and ran a 5k. I was looking forward to our empty nest days travelling the country so I could be her cheerleader for all these races, but it was not meant to be. Still, if it were not for her competitive fire I would not be in the great health that I am today. I will always be grateful to her for that.

  • I am thankful for bacon… and for having the strength and determination to make some difficult changes in my life. But mostly for the 🥓 😊

  • I’m glad my dad got his partial hip replacement surgery last week. That it’s not dementia keeping him from walking.

  • @Morpheus .... ahhhh, how sweet. 🥰

    In no particular order…

    Homemade roasted chicken and veggies.

The 3 quarts of super tasty chicken veggie broth I made this afternoon.

    Music.

    Yarn and a good hook.

A best friend that I can trust with my life.

    Baseball.

Good sci-fi and sword & board television series.

My first ever therapy session tomorrow.

Healing, or at least trying to.

    Scars.

    Stars.

Lights on a dark night, and heat when it is cold.

Wind, thunder, rain, and a blue Jay out my window that didn’t give a duck about any of that while the Sun was still shining.

  • Possibilities. Without the hope of something better, life would be too difficult.

  • This morning I am grateful for finally being fully symptom-free from another bout of treatment-induced aseptic meningitis. I'm also grateful that despite how sucky meningitis is, it wasn't as bad this time so we seem to be on the right track to preventing it altogether 🤞

I am also grateful for motorcycle gear and that my partner was wearing it when he had a major crash this weekend and totalled his bike. Broken arm, lots of bruises, but otherwise he got out relatively unscathed.

It was a rough weekend for both of us, but I'm so glad we're both still here and were able to snuggle (gently) last night.
