There are hugs and there are tight squeezes that seem to last an eternity. In a platonic setting, sometimes the tighter the squeeze, the more comfort is communicated. What say you?

I love me some tight squeezes, especially if we are pretzled. I want my limbs to fall asleep or to be slightly suffocating with my face in your shoulder/chest before I cry uncle 😅
Even better, when possible: being middle spoon 😍 can get too hot very fast, but with temp control it's absolutely lovely to be big and little spoon at the same time. Or just cuddle puddle!
Am I the only one that isn’t crazy about tight hugs. They seem to hurt me. I have a friend that kind of holds me in a space and just gaze is into my eyes and gently rubs me and puts his head side to side and just kind of envelopes me in gentleness. That’s my favorite kind of hug. When it gets too tight for me it doesn’t feel loving it feels more like they squeeze the life out of me😬😝.

There’s a wimpy handshake, there’s a firm handshake, and then there’s I’m gonna break your hand, handshake. I prefer the firm handshake, just like a firm hug but not squeeze you to death hug.
Before I give someone a tight hug I always establish safe words, and then I ramp up the strength of the hug gradually, and gently.
We humans are strangely fragile, especially where the spine and hips are concerned.

Tight hugs can be wonderful as long as the amount of pressure is fairly mutual and I don’t feel imprisoned by someone much stronger and who’s not aware of their brute strength. I’ve felt nearly suffocated (completely unintentional) just because there was a size difference. But overall it’s such a secure happy place to feel a long tight hug!
@CharlesInWI that sounds like I might like your hug, If it’s gradual. I guess I’ve been hugged by people quickly and tightly and takes me off guard.

@KozyKim ... I am with you on the hugs. I don't want to feel like I am being squeezed like one of those toys where the eyes pop out, but like a good firm handshake where the pressure is matched side to side, I think a hug could be matched as well. Hold me tight, but don't squeeze all the air out of me.
