  • @TxTom just a little butter on the outside of the bread and cook on each side until toasty. I don't use as much butter as I would for a grilled cheese. Speaking of grilled cheese.... rye bread, a thin layer of pesto, thin sliced tomato, American, cheddar (I add mozzarella if I have it) = the best grilled cheese

  • @Lisa123 So, I just toast the bread only on the grill, and then add the PB&J afterwards?

  • No, I make the sandwich then cook it

  • Thanks, @Lisa123 I'm gonna make it. (It almost sounds like the little cousin to the Monte Cristo.) I wonder if Steven ever made one of those grilled PB&Js? He was host of PBS's "Bar-B-Q University" and "The Primal Grill", my two all-time favorite shows.

  • I recently admitted to a coworker that I will never give up PB&J because I like it too much, referring to it as a “kid” thing. Finding out how much you all like it makes me feel at home.

My favorite way to eat it is on one slice, toasted, easy on the butter, heavy on the jelly, jam, preserves or honey. And since I only use one slice of bread, I can have another serving. Right?

    Total God Mode

  • Medium layer of creamy peanut butter on first slice, thin layer of jam on the 2nd slice, put together then cut off the edges, eat the edges, and fibally smoosh the bread so the pb & j come out the sides and lick off first before biting. Repeat until all gone and satisfied 😌

  • Seriously, there is only one way to do it. Peanut butter on both sides to the seal the jelly in. Otherwise, the jelly leaks through the bread.

  • I will only do peanut butter on both slices if I am using one of those uncrustables sandwich presses because otherwise you have globs of jelly sliding out.

  • So many ideas here to try! 🤤

I like the all natural pb, but I take a new jar, microwave it until it's soft, and stir in a bunch of psyllium husks. Makes it feel like pb with tiny rice crispies in it and it never gets soggy.
Oh, and homemade strawberry jam. Mmmmmm
Now if I grill it... 🤤

This forum literally took PBJ to a whole new level definitely will try all the ideas...would it be a class action lawsuit if intook everyone ideas and wrote a book and made 10k from it? Btw not my true intentions just making a bad joke but i guess it wouldn't stop anyone else from making a book Titled 20ways to make a PB and J

  • Option 4 (2nd to last). Surprised there are other ways to do it lol. But I will stick to just one way.

  • I quit eating bread 2 years ago. On rare occasion I will use all natural, no sugar added PB and all natural fruit preserves on a low carb wrap to get my PBJ “fix”.
