@dave31415 If you read my post, you will see that I do believe there are genuine people out there who would use such a service. However, it does not negate the fact that the majority of last minute requests are from people who refuse to send a photo, introduce themselves, or participate in any safety protocols. Quite often, they are people who have been banned from this site and similar sites before and are attempting a comeback by approaching newer pros expecting naïveté and poor boundaries. I would even go as far as to say there are predators specifically lurking for new folks here who won’t be able to suss their BS.
While I am with you that a moderated app for something similar could work with the right platform and planning, it’s still fact that the majority of male clientele who contact women last minute on this site rarely have the best intentions. Of course that’s not all of you, but every pro I’ve seen post on this thread has the same concerns. Not shooting down the idea, but I would bet that much like this site, a good 60-70% of messages sent to “Super Pros” would not result in an actual appointment. Again, I’ve done last minute appointments on other sites when someone contacts me in good faith, follows the site’s booking instructions and my screening instructions, and does all of the above expeditiously.

@BoomerSpooner Rape, violence, theft etc can and do occur in any activity. Of course you want to minimize or eliminate it if possible. But the possibility of it isn’t enough to stop you living your life particularly when the risk is small enough. If I had to guess I’d say that meeting someone to cuddle is at least 100x more likely to result in sexual assault than getting in an Uber. So if Uber is not worth the risk, then professional cuddling also isn’t as well. Everyone needs to judge the risks themselves and then decide which risks to take and which to avoid. (Update: after looking at some data, it’s probably more than 1000X or more).

@dave31415 i understand that but if you drill down on those statistics women are infinitely more vulnerable in all those situations than men and their precautions are just that—precautions, not pessimism.
Innovation rarely occurs without some drawbacks or risks. But people generally do a good job of working out the bugs and reducing the risk. Humanity, overall, is much better off today than it was even 100 years ago because of continual innovation in a million different fields, and the creative destruction that sometimes follows. Without the ability to innovate (and our opposable thumbs) we'd still be living in caves.
@Rachel_P There is a way to fix all these problems. There is always a way. You could require screening which would remove almost all of the people with bad intentions and you would never even see them.
When there is someone wanting to buy a service and someone wanting to provide it but there are logistical problems stopping them from making a transaction, there is lost value and increases unhappiness. That is where business opportunities come from.
It takes an optimistic mind to approach any opportunity and say, “Yes, there are problems with the idea and we will have to solve those problems along the way.” One cannot be an entrepreneur if you simply avoid anything that has risk or unsolved problems. There are so many unsolved problems in the Cuddling business (and also sex work) that can readily be solved using existing technologies or just common sense. Whether any idea is good enough to create a business model around is always something that requires estimation and ultimately experiment.
I only hinted at it before but there are various ways to do in-room safety. The most obvious is some kind of live-feed camera. There are some issues around privacy there but they can also be solved. E.g, automatic deletion of video after successful completion of service. There are are also ways with even more privacy that would only trigger video footage when certain signals occur. This would need to be productized as the customer would not trust some kind of home-made system. Imagine there is some thing called a Zoomie. Someone would just say, “Our service will have to be under Zoomie surveillance. Are you Ok with that?” Presumably everyone knows what Zoomie is just as they know what Uber is.
The bigger market for such things is course sex work. I’m a big proponent of the idea that society should try to protect sex workers rather than demonize them. The trouble is that it is hard to raise capital for anything associated in any way with illegal activities or “immoral activities”. That’s where cuddling might come in. If it were designed primarily with cuddling in mind, you would have something investors might actually back, knowing of course that others will purchase it as well and those others will drive most of the profits. People could even use it for regular dating which is also a dangerous activity for sexual assault.
FYI, Just did a quick lookup and calculated that the chance of being sexually assaulted by riding in an Uber is roughly 1 in 10 million. It could be as much as 10x higher for a single female. Still, one in a million chance. That’s orders of magnitude lower than going on a date, going to a frat party, going to a bar, and certainly, going on a cuddle date.

I really don't see this being endorsed by CC management. Pros currently set their own rates and hours and if they choose to take a short notice appointment they can do that.

@OhioMike yeah, I'm going to assume it's simply something to ponder as a what if in a perfect world scenario, rather than anything at all reality based. Like I said , I can see the complaints about pros not being good enough for whatever reason, and complaints about clients being weird and pervy sky rocketing
@OhioMike I don’t think the concept has reached the stage where anyone is seriously expecting CC to implement it. We are just thinking out the idea and a good many related ideas.
I would say in general, very little good happens when you make last minute decisions.
But I'm probably just being pessimistic.

I just think this idea of "SuperPro" is more Client / Professional based than waiting on a CC implementation at anytime. If this is something a Client is interested in then they would need to develop that rapport with a Professional to have a "desperate hug " scenario result come to any fruition.
At the same time if a Professional here wants to advertise on their profile they accept last minute appointments, well that's up to them of course. Some already list it as a service and some don't. 👍
I don't think there is any truth to the idea that people wanting goods or services in near real time are somehow dangerous characters. In cities like NYC, people can order pizza at 3am and someone will gladly deliver it. They don't say, "Who would want pizza at 3am. You must be a lot of violent drunks. I'm not sending a delivery driver out there". You can walk out of a bar at 3am and a cab or Uber will gladly pick you up. My wife will routinely order groceries from some app at random times and it gets delivered in hours. She isn't a nefarious character. They only thing you might be able to assume about people wanting something in near real time is that they are busy. The typical customer would probably be business travelers who don't even know where they will be staying until a day before. Other people just have unpredictable schedules. I am both those things. Perhaps pros on here might have experienced that the people who request short time services seem to be shady. That might be true but doesn't mean that short-notice is somehow a causal factor for shadiness. It doesn't make sense from a rational analysis. It may simply be a selection effect that people who are actually looking for a sex worker ask for short notice service because that is how the sex work industry works and CC is just one of various channels they are searching for that. But it doesn't mean that people who want something on short notice have some reason to be considered shady.
Pros , if you want to see people last minute and charge a premium, then do so .
Clients , if this is appealing to you , then seek it out and ask .

@Lisa123 i would not expect a girl I've seen before to upcharge me for "last minute" and I don't think it would be a smart financial move for a pro to pull on a regular. if I hit her up and go "hey are you available now?" , how do we determine the level of my desperation for contact? and if she chooses to apply the higher rate, ill be like "ok then let's wait 3-4 hours....."
That would be crazy-red flag-risky to meet someone last minute for a first time cuddle!!! I say the increase in cost would be almost like a convenience-fee. The same reason people pay more for something to be delivered instead of going to get it themselves.

Clearly call girls, escorts, SWs are are human. It was lumped in with everything else because it's all relative to my point. I have no issues with SW, they just doesn't belong here.
New pros are especially naive and prone to being groomed by repeat banned offenders here who pounce on them the moment they are approved. The last thing we need is a motivator like additional money for quick service , limited time for proper screening and being on call at 3 a.m. It's a recipe for abuse by predatory members.
No one here is able to give 100% of themselves to anyone at any given time. Again, we are human, we need to rest and reset. There are very few who could be professionally emotionally and physically available to anyone 24/7. Even then they would quickly experience burn out.
