Is it ok for a grown man to go see the Super Mario Brothers movie alone?

[Deleted User]MrAdmirer (deleted user)

Ok, so yeah.....I'm old enough to have been playing as Mario in the arcades when he was just a struggling plumber trying to save the save the girl at a construction site. Way before he became this big fancy star. I'm not really even that interested in the movie, but figured I'd go see it for the nostalgia. I grew up during the golden age of the arcades and home consoles after all.

So, does the cuddle comfort community consider it creepy for an old man like me to go see this movie or other 'kids' movies alone? Do you think there are some parents out there who might consider me a pedobear of some sort?

Of course, I have no problem going to movies alone and don't really care what the other parents think so this topic is just light hearted and in the spirit of fun. I dragged my daughter to go see the sonic movie with me. I'm still getting crap from her about it....haha.

Game on!

Dress up in the outfit. Hat, moustache, etc.

PS - 50p says you're not the only old guy there.

It's only creepy if your penis is out.

Reported, reviewed, left intact, but @GrayKunz - posting about someone with their penis out in a movie theater is probably not appropriate in any context, joking or not. Thanks. [-Sid]

  • Chris pratt mario is Great for all ages for sure!

I also recommend dungeons and dragons

  • Not creepy at all! I went and watched Coco alone when that came out in theatres. Nothing to be ashamed of, to see a kids movie by yourself

  • It’s ok 👍🏿😎🎉

  • Not creepy at all. Enjoy the movie✨️😊

    *uck ya dude 💪🏼

  • @WayCoolJr , love the username, but your profile says you're from Nashville, not Memphis. ;)

  • Not at all! You should totally go. The movie is a blockbuster success as a "Four-quadrant movie" - appeals to both male and female demographics, and both over- and under-25s. I'll go to horror movies by myself because none of my friends like to. Have fun and enjoy!

  • You should be fine. I’ve done it in the past.

    @MrAdmirer
Of course! And please take my g-son with you because he wants to see it.
But seriously hopefully you do what you love, so that the rest of us who do won’t stand out too much!
**Edited to add, you are NOT old!

  • Its creepy to describe someone alone at a movie theater as creepy.

@MrAdmirer Go and have a big soda and a large popcorn. If I was nearby I would ask to go with you.

  • DO WHATEVER MAKES YOU HAPPY WHOLEHEARTEDLY as long as you're not harming others (it doesn't count if they're bothered by you existing in a way that brings you joy, that's their own problem to work through) The world needs more of us living authentically ☀️

  • It's all good sweety I still play video games and watch cartoons. I am an old soul at heart. Never lose that child wonder cause looking at the world through the eyes of child is a beautiful thing.

  • We all need to stay young at heart as long as we can.

thanks for the replies....as I said this topic was light hearted.....I am very comfortable in my own skin and have zero problems doing anything by myself, even seeing a movie targeted at kids. Even Star Wars episodes 1-3, while clearly were going to get us older crowd in the theaters, was written for the kids.

And to @GrayKunz , not sure who reported your comment, I found it to be a very funny and appropriate reply

  • @MrAdmirer Boss, you do you. No regrets. No hold backs. Seek your happy & your peace with no worries for the crazy world.

  • Depends. Do you have any court imposed restrictions about staying 1000 yards away from schools and cartoons? If not, go for it.

  • Not creepy at all. Though I’d go at night because watching a movie in a theatre full of children can be an excruciating experience. A looong time ago I was an usher at a theatre and kids movies were the absolute worst to clean up after 🤮

  • It's not creepy at all! I love going to the movies alone!

  • [Deleted User]MrAdmirer (deleted user)

@Mikitea I do too. I've alone loved doing things alone, even when I wasn't single. I've certainly embraced my new single life in my 50's....haha.

A movie would make a fun cuddle meet and greet event

  • @Mr_Cuddle_Bear You’re the first one to point out that reference😎 I like it

  • It might be a good idea not to ask if a kid near you likes candy 😉

  • [Deleted User]HumbleBaron (deleted user)

What about little mermaid and guardian of the galaxy vol 4 id watch all three alone see no problem with that

  • Not creepy at all! It's fine. Enjoy it, Hon. 🫂🫂🫂

I did exactly this the other day. I don't go to the movies often, alone or otherwise, but due to unforeseen circumstances I had an afternoon to kill, so I went to the theater and this was the only movie that was remotely interesting to me. The movie was fine.

It never occurred to me to wonder if anyone would think I was creepy. I'm sure adults who are nostalgic for Nintendo of the 1980s and 1990s are half the target market, and in fact in the showing I was at the entire audience consisted of about 7 adults, no kids at all.

Its cool unless.... Your only there to see princess peach(bowzer vibes), talk to all the patrons during the movie like your with them, laugh at everything while your mouth is full of popcorn, or are on your phone playing Mario while watching Mario.

If that is not you have fun, but buy the 2 seats on either side of you also!👀
