Ocarina of Time is a Timeless classic. I still have an N64, though there are emulators that you can use on the Wii.
I enjoy horror games, so for me probably Resident Evil 2 Remake or Resident Evil 7 although i have played them so much now!
My favorite overall video game is Kingdom Hearts on PS2 for all the nostalgic reasons. Tetsuya Nomura's character design, Disney mashup, world design, amazing soundtrack (still hits home today), game play, plot, and feel good vibe of the game resonated with me when I was a child. I still get teary eyed almost every time when I hear the opening menu melody.
In terms of the game that had the most impact in what future games I played, Counter-Strike (original), Quake, and Half-Life 2 developed my love for first person shooters.
Imma need Valve to make HL3 and not just depend on Steam for $$.
Diablo 2 is my most loved game ever, it was so ahead of its time and still after 20 years its magic have never been recaptured.

Chrono Trigger is my all time favorite RPG- and brings back nostalgic feelings whenever I think of it! I played Chrono Cross too and Radical Dreamers, the text based version.

Legend of the Dragoon for PS is all time favorite. But I love the Final Fantasy games and Kingdom Hearts dearly also.

This is by far the greatest Game Over screen in the history of video games. It's from a 1995 PC game called Total Distortion.

I'm... cautiously optimistic. I'm confident that it is impossible for them to recreate the 'magic' of the original. Too many development issues and likely changes to the fabric of the game. Still looking forward to it, though.
Worst case, I'll just replay the original once every year or so as I've been doing lol
My favorite video game is Think Or Swim by TD Ameritrade. All you have to do is push BUY and then push SELL later when the price is higher.
I'm currently playing Cyberpunk 2077 in anticipation of the new content coming in the near future.
Overall favorite though? Chrono Trigger, easily.

@TxTom I was jokingly calling it a video game because when you day trade it sometimes kind of feels like playing a video game. it's a real (and one of the most popular) stock and options trading platform. though, once you open an account you can switch to training mode and test your trading skills with a fake 200K account. if you're not serios about it, then consider it a game, and just play with fake money. and if you do good and feel confident, switch to real money (which is also fake lol but that's a whole different conversation)
@BrianL yes exactly my answer too- hands down Chrono Trigger. Marle was always my favorite but Lucca was pretty rad too! Did you play Chrono Cross or Radical Dreamers?
I haven't played it yet but my son has been playing the new Legend of Zelda game non-stop for 2 weeks now. And he's not even close to 1/4 through the game. It is truly epic in scope.
Overwatch 2, World of Warcraft, Minecraft
Oof this is truly tough! Duck hunt is a top favorite of mine, but I’ve also raided in WoW. (Obsessed was an understatement) Elden Ring, Blood Borne, Overwatch, Hearthstone, Mortal Kombat. I can’t choose one, no even possible!
Halo 2, Darkest dungeon and Persona 5 are the first ones that come to mind
Ghost of Tsushima! Not only for the story and character building, but the game visually and aesthetically is beautiful! If you haven’t played it definitely give it a shot
@Kassieab nice to see the 'From Software' love. I was a big fan of Otogi and Tenchu back in the Xbox days, so it was nice to see the company hit it big with Demon's Souls, Bloodborne, Sekiro and now Elden Ring. Epic games. Sadly I can't beat the final boss of Elden Ring. I even loved Ninja Blade. I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with the Armored Core series, though I was not really a fan of the series before.
My favorite Desktop game is Final Fantasy 14 Online the MMORPG. My favorite VR game is VRChat.

@TxTom Haha at PacMan fever vinyl. I built my own bartop arcade machine and installed a music player on it while you are browsing the games and systems, and Pac Fever is definitely on the set list!!
