What works best for both comfort and connection?

I was curious 👀 what do people prefer to wear while cuddling?
What’s too much or too little
And do you let the cuddlee request certain clothing?
Besides good hygiene prior to season
Does it really matter what you wear besides comfort for each person?

Does it really matter what you wear besides comfort for each person?

What if someone says they are comfortable in boxers? 🤔

Everything I have seen from pros on here is that they do not accept clothing requests (I assume because the requests usually violate TOS).

Yes it totally matters! What one person may be comfortable with, their cuddle partner might not. Intimate areas must be clothed, underwear is not enough. This is platonic... PJs, shorts, leggings, t-shirt or tank top. Those are all extremely comfortable options.

TOS is here to protect everyone involved. I mean, don't show up wearing six layers and a winter coat with boots. Just be smart & communicate!

@SoftHairForDays Yup.... All too often. Not acceptable for me

With the exception of “Fiber X makes me break out in hives”, clothing requests are a red flag.

At best they indicate control and boundary issues.

And, of course, those requests can certainly be of a sexualized or fetishized nature.

My preference is that the person I am with is comfortable and confident in what they are wearing.

I like clean, not overly scented, smooth, soft fabrics in muted colors.

Personally I’m texture oriented, so my fair warning would be that if the person I am cuddling is wearing something that’s fuzzy, has a lot of stitching or seams, or any kind of scratchy thing, my hands will be continually (and unconsciously) going to that texture and fidgeting with it.

And that’s true of chairs, couches, brick walls I happen to sitting in, etc, so that is not a sexual thing, it’s a neurodivergent thing.

  • The softer the better, not too tight or too baggy, I would say. Not more revealing or “intimate”-looking than you would wear in public, except by virtue of being sleepwear (like plaid PJ pants). If a female pro cuddles in a tank top, for example, it’s because it’s what she prefers, or it’s hot out and it’s how she dresses. Like you say, it shouldn’t matter too much.

95% of the time pros do not take requests about clothing and do not look kindly on them.

That said, a client who asks what the pro will be wearing may just want information to orient themselves.

  • As already mentioned, in general clothing requests are actually boundary-testing requests and the best plan is to Block and Report.

No, it doesn't really matter what people wear as long as it's reasonable for cuddling.

Tee shirt and shorts is widely considered an ideal (certainly by me), with leggings or sweat pants being popular in winter. Many cuddlers prefer a long-sleeved top. Buttons and zips are to be avoided, and empty your pockets. It's common for men to remove belts - this is just for comfort and is not a red flag. Socks are assumed but bare feet are common, though always check with your cuddle partner before removing your socks.

Shoulderless tops can become more revealing than intended when subjected to the rigours of cuddling, particularly when you are lying down sideways and gravity is therefore perpendicular to the direction assumed in the design. Bras are nearly universal amongst professionals on Cuddle Comfort in London (less so with enthusiast women) and their absence is usually balanced by the wearing of two outer layers. Underpants are compulsory and requests from clients to have a single layer around the hips (e.g. swimwear) is an automatic Block and Report.

The only garment I've ever encountered which was genuinely problematic was a 3/4 length skirt.

Yes, you can wear what's comfortable for you, but when meeting someone through this site, there is a clothing minimum both people must adhere to or risk either an account warning or being banned. As for clothing requests, majority of Pros here take them as a means for something sexual by wearing something which is sexually stimulating (swimsuit, dress, skirt, lingerie, specific materials, etc) and typically those people making clothing requests are reported... and then myself or the other Mods determine the context of the clothing request which results in either a warning or a ban.

Clothing requests, asking for "skin to skin", and many other phrases and keywords are typically used to skirt around those seeking to use the site for something sexual and are major red flags for Pros and for the Mods.

Not acceptable for me either. That's always a 🚩.

  • Thank you all so much … very insightful 🤍💛🤍💛🤍

I’ll wear lounge pants or sorta and loose tshirt.
I don’t feel it’s my place to make requests.

I weared pajama style clothes for first cuddler then next time I just wore near knee length gym shorts and t-shirt. First cuddler weared jeans first session then started wearing pajamas type after that. Then cuddler wore sweat pants and tshirt thereafter. As far as connection, either of the clothes didnt seem to affect me either way just looser fitting clothes was more comfortable to me. Talking or listening was probably connected me the most rather than what she was wearing.
I have never requested a cuddler wear anything specific and have never made any comments to her on what she was wearing.

  • Pajama pants, and my most comfortable t-shirt.

I had one shirt that was definitively known as "the cuddling shirt" to my last significant other.

  • Re clothing requests, I think only thing that really needs to be considered is either allergy issues and materials sometimes as there are some who might have sensory issues or needs. Other than that anything asking for less or revealing is inappropriate.

  • If they request less clothing, show up in a hazmat suit.

  • I have access to Tyvek suits sized 2X-5X should anyone need them...

  • Oh, wait, I just remembered something. I once cuddled somebody who was wearing a ..... well it was one of those garments that is hard to describe, but it was very snuggly. She thought it would be ideal for cuddling but it very rapidly became obvious that it was far too warm, and she had to take it off. Fortunately she had enough on underneath for that to be an option.

  • Anything soft is best -- as others have said, no buckles, buttons, pokey seams, etc. I personally prefer skin-to-skin contact (I'm talking about arms and legs) when that is a possibility. But I've had great cuddles without that too.

  • Both cuddlers I’ve seen have been in yoga-style leggings and a tank or sleeveless shirt, and I always wear a softer t-shirt with athletic shorts. As I cuddle in bed, I’ve been barefoot but that’s never been questioned by them and clothing has never come up as an issue. I just try and go with clothes that don’t have snaps, buttons, or zippers, that way they’re more comfortable for my partner.

  • Most pros I’ve seen, wear shorts and a tank top or leggings and a tank top. I never make requests. I always wear shorts and a t shirt. I’ve never had an issue with what a pro was wearing. Jeans in my opinion are not ideal. I want to say years ago I had a pro show up in jeans but I may be wrong. I don’t see anything wrong with requests in certain circumstances. An example as corny as it sounds would be matching pajamas for an overnight session.
