It's crazy how many Fake or bot accounts there are here in NY. Has anyone had any luck in NY?

My sympathies. How many do you think you have reported?
I believe it. With high quality fake photos, chatgpt, & so many other deception tools I’m surprised it doesn’t happen more often.
I'm not sure what the purpose of a bot account is. What would it do?
@Kuddle6 - Scam as many people as possible in a short amount of time. They have gotten so sophisticated now that they can carry on a believable conversation. Have you checked out ChatGPT?

Bot accounts? I've rarely seen any bot accounts here. We've recently had the the 1 time were several accounts of site members who were using the same login info from another site (or multiple sites) had their credentials compromised on the other site/sites. Someone used those compromised logins trying for valid accounts here on CC to start spamming malicious links to site members, but other than that, CC doesn't really see bots like you're talking about.
Typically you're more likely to see scammers here, sometimes untagged Pros asking for money, some register and become Pros, but they do tend to aim to get you to send money or to take the conversation off the site as early as possible. CashApp, Venmo (kinda), Zelle, and gift cards are the most common ones they'll ask you to use for sending them money before blocking you or trying to delete the account before getting banned.
@WriterGF - I can't tell what they're doing here, but they seem to be very common on dating sites. They'll contact a bunch of people at once and carry on multiple conversations at the same time and eventually make up a story about why they need to "borrow" money.
@Mike403 Oh, sure, date scammers are rife on Match and other places. Have been for years. It's over a $1 billion business just in Russia alone. My favorite of all the ones I met was the one who said she worked for the UN and that she was stranded in Europe and needed money to get home ... cause, you know, the UN can't fly their employees out of places.

@Sooson, yes. I know what you mean though, I've felt bad when reporting somebody more than once. I wish such people well .... just not here.
But I'm with @netrunner, I don't think I've ever seen a confirmed bot account here myself. Scammers, yes. And a significant number of people who join to see what this place is about and then leave quite quickly.
I found this thread after messaging several accounts in my area and my first conversation started out suspiciously. No photo, and a username that in retrospect sounds pretty fake. I send a brief hello and invite to chat, they reply "welcome to cuddle comfort how are you?" I provide a detailed answer and then ask how are you? They reply "good thanks and you?"
At that point I'm checking out of the "conversation".

@TheFunCartel kind of hard to say without naming the account. But no, not quite that obvious. More like extremely generic sequence of adjective/noun and numbers, as if you were picking a person out of a huge warehouse and this happened to be the first one on the first shelf. I won't name the account here but I am reporting it as fake due to the obviously inhuman chat response.
@Merry01 "Good, thanks, and you?" is obviously inhuman? A lot of the people on here are introverted and shy. They're not going to send long messages, especially when they didn't initiate the conversation. If you are messaging women, it's frankly amazing you are getting any responses at all. Most women on here are too buried in messages to reply.

@Merry01 I'm not familiar with all the AI assistants out there currently, could they be using an AI email assistant to answer a lot of messages? Are you in a bigger area? Could be someone who does in fact get a lot of messages. Women have similar things we have to filter out but as far as bots go... I don't think this site really has them. The mods are way too good. I would see if it's something you can point there attention to though this site is pretty awesome without the things other socials deal with.

If you are messaging women, it's frankly amazing you are getting any responses at all. Most women on here are too buried in messages to reply.
As a woman who is an enthusiast.... It would be easy for me to start with responding to a small part of the conversation like "welcome to cuddle comfort how are you?" EXCEPT I was a spelling bee girl and grammer mattered back in the day when we didn't have computers in our hands and no use for capitalization or commas. A random user name is sometimes what people choose specifically for anonymity. You will probably see a lot of that more diverse stuff after awhile.
I think its possible you might have a real human who is being kind and responding but not over-invested.... I think its also possible you might have a real human who has poor grammer or english isn't their first language.... I also think its possible you might have a real human who has nefarious motives and isn't exactly who they are presenting....
But I think the most important thing to note is that you disengaged, followed your instinct, and reported it to the mods so they can follow up. Kudos to you!

I've seen bot waves come and go on here. Generally a username which is a single word with 4 digits after is going to be a bot. Stuff like this.

My suspicion is these are generic enough they can be randomly generated and are not often already reserved. They sound and appear similar to a convention of using a name and birth or graduation year which used to be a little popular.

And yes I certainly was surprised to receive a reply so soon - around an hour after messaging - especially when I can see on profiles that people are not necessarily always on the site super frequently. (Plus the great point a couple of people here in this thread made about women getting lots of messages.)
Just to clarify in case there was any confusion, it was the user's second message that I found strange... Not because of grammar or because it was brief, but because I read it as completely disregarding my message and repeating their initial question... Immediately asking again "how are you?" when I had just answered that.
Anyway, whether a bot or not, I didn't enjoy the interaction and have moved on 🙂👍
