Don't engage with the trolls.

They get a kick out of stirring the pot. If we didn't entertain them anymore and they just got banned with any threads they post removed, they might eventually get bored and move on.

Reported and reviewed. Troll stirring the pot. Removing comment. [Charlie_Bear]

  • I thought witches stirred pots?

  • I like to shame them before hiding their posts.

  • You need a bell for it to be super effective.

  • And a dragon

  • Trolls usually thrive on attention. Ignoring then is the best thing to do.

  • They really like to come out of their caves in June. Not a very prideful bunch.

  • I really struggled with the correct terms to use. A few went through my mind.
The one that stood out was good ole' boys club. Or too be PC, they're club. I almost forgot how grown folks hate it they must even more so then a toddler when something they feel very proud of and value is not treasured the same as someone they think is different or unlike them.
1 ussually starts it, another joins and before you know it a Good Ole' Boy club has formed.
Congrats on your club formation. Hopefully your membership thrives. Just remember this is 2023. No more dragging people out to the fields in your pickups because their views are not yours.....🥂cheers!

My bad I did that completely incorrect.
The last comment that was made by anyone but me(is from a good ole' boy👆) Just making sure...😐🤓 with the exception of sunset of course...

  • It depends on the type of trolling going on. Sometimes people need to speak up. Sometimes people need to see other people speaking up. And eventually if enough people speak up each and every time, that particular problematic behavior will truly become socially unacceptable and get phased out.

I don't let bullying slide. I don't let bigoted slurs or hate speech slide. If they're just run of the mill trolls trying to flame, meh, fine to let them starve. But if their rhetoric is being used to fuel actual hate and violence, then no, remaining silent is not the better option.

  • C'est la vie.

trolls never get bored, they have no lives and nothing to lose. Sometimes it is ok to punch them in the mouths. And making threads like this gives them just as much a rush and attention. It shows them just how much they get to you.

  • All of you can meet me at net neutrality.

  • @ScroogeMcducky Only if you're passing out some'a that ice!

  • Sunset your all aces in my book.

  • @ScroogeMcducky Aww! ☺️

  • The thing about it is you can’t avoid feeding them, the most unique aspect is the interruption in to discourse. They don’t care if you are responding to them or just having a wonderful day, they just get a kick out if trying to interject themselves. I’m sure they hope to cause some sort of uncomfortable reaction but they don’t know or care. They just spew and giggle(i think).

It’s pretty sad after age 12 or so, just offer them hugs and maybe they feel better. But CC is probably the best place for them because it makes up for what i assume is the lack of love. Welcome them with open arms.

  • Why didnt that game also become a top app? Everybody played it on the pc

  • They don’t really bother me.
    Sometimes I like the drama.
I don’t always realize it’s a Troll post until I check their join date.
If others don’t want them here, that’s fine also.
We meet all kinds in real life, same thing in forums, it helps to grow a thicker skin.

As long as I'm not being strung up for not paying a crossing toll, I mostly don't mind. Certain levels of respect should be expected, but im not your daddy.

  • Eventually the trolls are going to build a bridge here and charge a toll to cross it if we don't stop them.

I don't like the trolls because I have to respond to all the reports about their nonsense. This is a site for platonic cuddling. There are soooo many other places to troll. I personally like to come here to relax (which has been absolutely decimated since becoming a mod since my anxiety is a max level now reading all these reports). My patience for trolls has worn very thin over these past few months because they are not the funny kind of troll, just hateful people spewing horrible things and then claiming they are being censored for it when they are reported.

  • @Charlie_Bear - I love reading some of the ban appeals some people submit when a mod decides to share it. 🤣🤣

  • @Mike403
I wish I could share the funniest ones I see, though they are full of profanity as instead of appealing they just use it as a means to cuss out the mods. It's usually after they have been caught trying to pay for sex.

  • Before being mod I very rarely ever had anger hurled my way but now it's constant. People apparently really do not like being caught doing things they shouldn't be doing and like to turn it on us like it's our fault.

  • @Charlie_Bear you are the bees knees. My bridge will be free to everyone not being sent to the 8th ring of hell. Lol. Props to people who’ve read Dante. Maybe I’ll charge those in the 5th ring too.

  • @Charlie_Bear I'm sorry you have to deal with that. I've never been in your position so maybe tell me to go jump in a lake, but my word of encouragement would be to try to remind yourself that they're not actually angry with you, they're just angry they got caught. You are so respectful, any crap hurled your way is definitely not deserved or justified.

  • There's an acronym I tell people all the time when I do trainings in the human services field:

    QTIP

    Quit
    Taking
    It
    Personal

It's not much, but it might help.
