Is hygiene really a thing here ???

I can’t help but noticing how often women mention the importance of hygiene in their profiles. Is this really a thing here???

I mean, guys, come on, if you are meeting a woman for a cuddle, are you not showering, spritzing your pits, brushing your teeth, flossing (I’m a big flosser I even mention that in my profile-but I digress), and wearing clean clothes? In case you didn’t get the memo (or extra points if you know what a TPS Report is), the whole point of this exercise is to have someone “want” to be next to you! Not to repel them.

What’s up with that?!

First person to ID what a TPS Report is gets the applause and wins the day.

    My boyfriend writes TPS reports. 😋

    So since I'm way, way too shy to be able to say this directly to the guys in question, allow me to say it, here...

    Sometimes showering/brushing teeth is not enough.

    • You need to exfoliate. Test: If you're wearing a black t-shirt and find skin flakes all over the shoulders, you need to be (gently) scrubbing, more, around your face/ears, when you shower. You don't even have to buy something special, you can just use body wash and a washcloth.

    • If you can smell your body odor, so can we. Every time your deodorant runs out, try a new brand until you find one that works with your body and skin.

    • If you are prone to sweating profusely, it's a great idea to bring a fresh cuddle shirt to change into, especially during the summer.

    • When you brush your teeth, that doesn't actually tackle bad breath at the root. You need to brush your tongue. Yes, seriously. Scrub that thing down and your breath will be fresh as daisies.

    I'm not trying to be difficult or make you paranoid. If we're cuddling, odds are, you're already just fine. But it doesn't hurt to throw this info out there.

    That said, I've met some fabulously hygienic cuddlers who are even more spruced-up than I am, and it's lovely.

    Yes, hygiene is a real problem. This is nothing to do with cuddling, or men for that matter. It's just that a significant proportion of the population walk around being not clean.

    This isn't noticeable in everyday terms but is apparent when you get into close proximity.

    I mention in my first few messages to please be hygienic and wear clean clothing, I will do the same. Still, I encounter clients that you can smell before you see them. I had one client recently that emanated a B/O smell so pungent I almost ended the session.. after using the restroom I discovered he had showered and groomed himself by the evidence of a freshly used shower, damp towel and hair in the sink.

    I'm convinced some people don't know how to clean themselves properly and thoroughly or they just don't care.

    Some people needs to learn how to use a bar of soap. Just standing under the shower head only gets you wet, not clean.

    @SunsetSnuggles brushing doesn’t do the trick alone, people need to floss. If you don’t floss the food that gets stuck in your teeth rot and the smell stays there and messes your gums.
    Also some people need to change their diets in order for their body chemistry not to emit bad smells after a little sweating. In extreme cases which I read some people have infected underarms/pits. They need antibiotics to kill the bacteria there.
    Shower every day, brush and floss twice a day and gargle with mouth wash before engaging in a session!

    And yes, one can always dive deeper in the hygiene dept., I guess I was just beginning to scratch the service.

    Hygiene has definitely been a problem a few times. I have a difficult time with people who have a diet of very spicy garlic and onion foods. Unfortunately even a shower hasn’t helped that. I don’t know what the solution is, also smokers have the same issue. It’s in their skin, comes out through pores.
    And please understand I don’t want to offend anyone it’s just that I am very sensitive to it. Literally makes my eyes water.
    I’ve added that information to my profile, but um, who reads profiles anyway, right?

    Both are true. However, there are also people with certain medical conditions which cause unpleasant odour.

    I've had some amazing moments in cuddling when you're nuzzling up to her face, feeling her warm breath against your cheek… not gonna happen if you haven't brushed your teeth!

    This is a borderline troll topic. If it is mentioned in so many profiles do you think the women are lying then and it is NOT a thing? And men who post here regularly don't need a pep talk, a friendly reminder or anything 'mansplained". Of course I always wash up, brush teeth, floss and gargle before a session. Heck, I even clean my apartment when I host.

    All topics like this do will create more posts where people will just pile on about bad hygiene experiences they have had and apologize for having to put that on their profiles. Ad nuaseum.

    I have a regular cuddler who just so happened to ONE TIME have slightly bad breath. Sh*t happens. Did I need to make a topic about it? No Did I say anything to her? No. Did it ruin the cuddle session? No Did it affect the session AT ALL? No. Could I have mentioned it and offered her some mouthwash? Yes. Will I cuddle with her again? Yes.

    This is why I take forum breaks. Trolls are bad enough, but some of the some of the topics that come (and come up repeatedly) don't foster a good community for everyone either.

    Agree with the flossing!!! Too many people don't do it. If you are not a regular flosser, then go ahead and try it, then smell the floss. I'm serious, you'd be surprised! Do yourself, your gums and everyone you come in close contact with a favor by making it a daily habit.

    @Mike403 One thing that the troll in that batsh*t crazy "net neutrality" thread has a valid point about is that this community can be a bit "preachy" and "cliquey" at times.

    I have asked you several times to not reply to my posts because we obviously don't see eye to eye. Technically, I could flag you for serial trolling me but of course I won't. I actually think you and me would get along in real life because we seem to have the same core values but clearly have different life experiences and mindsets. I think we would cut through any red tape in person whereby here we just derail topics with our walls of texts and drama.

    So yeah, I think that threads like this and your thread saying not to reply to trolls is preachy and cliquey. In some (maybe most?) website forums rules, creating new topics to call out trolls or saying to ignore them is IN FACT considered to be trolling, I hate to break it to you. I've been on the internet since Al Gore first invented it (LOL) and have seen this and even learned it the hard way.

    Do we REALLY think we can educate people here about hygiene? Do we really need to remind people to not engage trolls? We are all adults here. I actually think getting trolls to post more helps mitigate risk for the cuddlers - they see the patterns and can tell who they are when they just create a new account). I think it is fair to say that the community at large knows these things.

    The people who may need to know these probably have other issues going on that goes far beyond the help we could provide by making a new topic to "educate" them. Think of how insulting that might sounds to someone. In fact, these types of posts is probably how trolls are born. They could be people who are just lurkers that feel alienated and then lash out.

    Still thinking about the fourth sentence of the fourth paragraph. You may indeed be right but I think it's important people see it checked too. But... never know if we see eye to eye or not. We don't interact much.
    I'm not going to deny the factions that happen here or anything because that would be either denial or a lie. I do think they aren't (generally) formed out of malice but perspective which aside from hurtful rhetoric that sometimes happens is fine. That part was me going off on a tangent not directed at you. Hugs.

And my point stands about your "Don't engage trolls" topic....that would be considered trolling in many forums out there on the internet. And this one is still a borderline trolling thread too.

    My ex was a pilot in the Navy. He had guys report to him who were 18-19 year old recruits who had never worked before. He had to talk with them about life basics: hygiene, budgeting, finances, communication. They came from all over the States. Absolutely clueless young guys.

    My siblings are/were horrible parents. I had to have The Talk with multiple nephews: washcloth, soap, scrub, head to toes, not toes to head.

    Stink stinks, and unfortunately, it IS a thing.

    @WestsideMarc @Jubal definitely knows the reference. My problem with TPS reports procedure is printing the new cover letter. I always get the “PC Load Letter” error.

    @Mike403 Again, I'm just saying that making topics about trolls can be considered as trolling in forums.

    @SunsetSnuggles Because the topic has been discussed before and the TC is basically mocking certain people where it might be a real struggle or an issue and could be flagged as trolling.
