My best friends would describe, and have described, me as a little off-beat or quirky, funny, curious, intelligent, kind, easy to be around, creative, and insightful. Or these might all be just things I’d say about myself, and wished my friends would say them.

I have eclectic tastes and interests, and most of them are constructive. I earned a Ph.D. in Romance languages and literature and became a professor. Years later, I left the profession to travel and work abroad. After teaching high school for a few years, I switched careers again to developing software using Natural Language Processing (think Siri without the voice) for a giant health care corporation. Disliked it. Now I’m back to teaching Hispanic language and literature.

I’m an avid reader, love creativity that defies my expectations or challenges my norms, but don’t typically get along with people who take themselves too seriously. Life’s too short for that. You can still get your shit done and be silly.

I’d like to find a cuddle friend. Platonic physical and emotional intimacy. People often tell me that I make them feel comfortable. What a way to improve quality of life! I would enjoy reading a message from you. Don’t be shy about it.
