What are your thoughts concerning professional cuddlers confirming a session then not showing up to cuddle?
Forbearance & empathy pending verification of their reasons why. Life happens.
If you are at the meeting place on time, and they don't show up, and you haven't heard from them, and they don't contact you within a day or so afterwards; then you are allowed to leave polite, unequivocally true and fair Karma to that effect. The convention is one star. This is the only circumstance in which you can write Karma when you haven't met somebody. In and of itself, it does not warrant a Report to the mods. The wise client will double check the arrangements to make sure they haven't turned up on the wrong day.
Sometimes life does just happen, and although it's very disappointing for the client it's a good opportunity to practice or practise patience and understanding.
However, life does not happen so intensely for 24 hours at a time that there isn't time to send one brief message. Or at least, it's so rare as to be discountable.
If the professional does contact you and apologies/explains, then you should accept their apology, let bygones be bygones, and arrange to meet for the happy session you were supposed to have had the first time. If they do it again, you are at liberty to move politely on to the next professional.
Such an event is less likely to happen with more experienced professionals. You may find this thread helpful:
I 100% agree with everything @CuddleDuncan said.
I would like to say that I do think it deserves a report. I say that solely because it should be brought to light just in case the pro has done this to others. Reporting it allows mods to see if there’s a habit of them doing this and if there is, then they can take action. Especially if they haven’t reached out after the no-show to explain.
I hate that this happens to people. It's just common courtesy to alert someone you have plans with if yours suddenly change. I'm half and half on this. I think if they come around afterwards with a reasonable apology and do what they can to remedy it (plan another session, maybe discounted for the inconvenience) then all should be well. I know a lot of pros probably have kids and that can throw off any scheduled plan in the blink of an eye.
On the other hand, if they completely just ghost and don't even attempt to apologize, at a minimum I would leave karma to reflect that and would see reason to report as well, just so that if it is a pattern for the pro, it can be handled appropriately by the mods. Not only does it reflect poorly on that pro, but also on others as it makes people less trusting. The actions of one or some should not color the opinion of all, but if you experience it multiple times, I can understand how it would be difficult to look past even with a completely different person.
I actually am going to agree with @Sheena123 on this one. Barring any unforeseen important circumstance that's brought to your attention.
I think there is a loose version of what qualifies as a pro cuddler on some sites. Look for someone who is trained/certified by a professional cuddling organization if you can (I know this is not always possible)
Report if it's less than 12 hours before a session (or 24 hours if a room has been rented), regardless of a reason given. This may seem harsh, but it needs to be on the CC radar. (They may have a pattern of late cancels that you can't see.)
@Sheena123 @stormydaycuddle on the question of whether a no-show should be Reported, I was not expressing an opinion and I don't disagree with you. It has been mentioned by the mods a couple of times that fair and temperate Karma describing what happened is the more appropriate way to go, and I was just repeating that advice.
As I understand it, it makes no difference whether the no-showing person is a professional, client or enthusiast.
The overarching rule of, 'If in doubt, Report', still very definitely applies.
I had a pro who just simply forgot about the session because she was busy moving into another house that day. I contacted her and she apologized and gave me an hour and a half session for the price of one hour.
@Mike403 Oh, well that was considerate and fair of her.😊
@Mike403 in your case. That shows that you were patient and gave her a chance to respond and explain! Your Pro showed that she is ethical and had a “life interference”. But in many cases, especially with no contact after 24 hours, I’m with @Sheena123 , @AllAboutSoul and @stormydaycuddle. I would message the Pro & wait at least a couple of days, then Report and leave 1 star Karma. Too high of a % seem to not take Cuddling seriously and they don’t respect the purpose of this site nor the other members.
Interesting thread to read !
Report them.
