@bekah_cuddles - very well said!
No- I'm not really ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐.....I'm probably a ⭐⭐⭐-⭐⭐⭐⭐ at best....why? I talk A LOT, I'm hot-like temperature wise, so I want the room freezing. (It's arguably uncomfortable for most people, but they placate me and I appreciate that.) On those two things alone I probably shoulda lost a star....but people are kind.... Honestly, my punctuality is lacking (working on it! 😳😬) which is probably a whole 'nother star. 😂🤷.... All of that said, once I'm there I'm a great cuddler/company/conversationalist (if I do say so myself😂🤦), so maybe I'm just earning my stars back during the session. 🤷
@WestsideMarc I don't completely get it either. But I guess I can see the appeal if you don't have any/many people in your life to talk to and just want some human contact of some kind. I have run across a few virtual cuddle descriptions in profiles that frankly seem to border on non-platonic, too.
@WestsideMarc You have been here awhile like me. You are a funny funny one!! hahhaha
I mean, I know that myyyyy 5 stars are well earned (LOL) but just asking
Am I a 5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ABSOLUTELY but is that something that everyone would agree with? Unlikely. We each of us have the boxes that must be checked in order to have a positive enthusiastic response to our EXPERIENCE with that person.
I think you are right and there aren't that many people like @SunsetSnuggles who leave less than 5 stars or a single star when its really bad. Most people in my experience just choose 5 or NOT AT ALL.
(side note---I'm curious how you LEAVE karma? Do you leave multiple levels of stardom? This is always a fun topic to delve into a little bit.)
The verbiage on the karma page says
"Please only write about your EXPERIENCE if you have met the member in person or if they were a no-show."
I never look at karma to find out if I will like the way someone's touch will mesh with mine. That cuddle chemistry isn't something you can base off of other people's opinions. That's why I write about my overall experience with the person I am leaving karma for. My boxes include things like--- ✅Are they respectful? ✅Do they communicate clearly? ✅Do they present kindness? ✅Are they honest as far as I can tell? ✅Do they try and push boundaries in our initial meeting? (These things aren't always about touch.... sometimes its just about forcing their opinions and ideas as though they have authority on the truth and don't give me the ability to have an opinion different from theirs.)
I might never cuddle with this person, but if my interactions with them have been positive through messages and the first public meeting then I am going to leave 5 stars because that's the basis of my experience with them. I'm also not going to constantly come back and change the karma for someone I met a long time ago. Sometimes, after I've known them awhile our connection might not be as positive as my initial experience and sometimes its 1000% better and increased in stardom.
I agree with @AllAboutSoul
I tend to read the karmas and not focus on the stars.
and sometimes you can know things because of what ISN'T written. I tend to read things like "they were great at being re-directed" as a sign that someone was always trying to push past personal boundaries but not agressively or report worthy.
@bekah_cuddles
If it's someone I would cuddle with again, I give 5 stars and a nice review. If it's someone I might not want to cuddle with again, I won't leave any karma. If it's someone who was disrespectful and pushed boundaries, I report them.
I want people to use their instincts and not just karma to figure out if a potential cuddler is going to work out for them. The karma system is flawed and if we expect it to be something it isn't meant to be (like an absolute prediction of good cuddle buddies) then we will be disappointed.
One of the best things about the karma system is that you can immediately tell if someone is REAL because they've actually had an in person connection. It doesn't mean its perfect and someone with 100 karmas is any better than someone with 10 but at least it can give you an idea if they are somewhat consistent in how they present themselves.
Its always interesting how people use and perceive the karma system.
A lot of companies purposefully employ a strategy to underpromise and overdeliver. This is expressly done to keep customer satisfaction high. A well-known computer company I used to work for would tell customers to expect their product to be delivered on Friday, although they knew it would actually arrive on Wednesday.
In keeping with this strategy, I like to promote myself as a solid ⭐⭐⭐ cuddler.
I’ve only left one ass ripping 1 star review before, but she wholly deserved it. We had literally over 200 texts and multiple phone calls, she just loved to text over and over and over again, then just hours before our first cuddled she flaked.
@cuddle_bug88 love the honesty and self awareness.
I think my actual skills land me at a 2.5…but as I said in another post I know how to dig a hole and where the Home Depot is so… don’t get many bad reviews. Hahaha.
To be clear I’ve never threatened or pressured my way to Karma…or I’d have a lot more…
I’m not for everybody and I realize that. The more I cuddle the more amazed I am at how kind people are. And my review writing skills are getting better so I think I can finally at least a little bit write ones such awesome people deserve.
@stormydaycuddle - if you weren't a 5, I wouldn't keep booking sessions with you. I feel like you enjoy my company and you give great hugs.
@Mike403
...and you give great hugs.
You're a lucky dude.
I agree with @bekah_cuddles.
@mike403 @txtom Hugs!
I got 5 so it must be accurate. Seriously, it’s hard to take ratings seriously when they are so high across the board. 5 star indicates perfect, nothing could be better. I doubt most are that good, but it does indicate satisfactory since everyone has the same score.
@BashfulLoner posted: "5 star indicates perfect, nothing could be better."
Glad someone else gets me.
~ Sunset Snuggles
@BashfulLoner @SunsetSnuggles - Why would a client deserve less than 5 stars besides the obvious answer of not respecting boundaries?
@Mike403 its difficult to assess what a rating means if they are all the same. If a 5 star rating means you didn’t do anything wrong it must also mean you didn’t do anything right. At least that’s how i see it, so for me i take it with a grain of sea salt.
I’m not criticizing anyone’s method I’m just sharing my interpretation.
I'd hate for somebody to rate me less just for being a little socially awkward which is a trait that comes with autism that I have no control over. A guy receiving less than 5 star karma would destroy his reputation on this site.
You may be correct, but a rating isn’t of much value if they are all the same. I suppose if it’s a rating like a hotel it indicates a bare minimum, then a i guess it’s an ok indicator, but I’d not trust it much.
It might be helpful to have a rating on some specific criteria or something...in an anonymous way...like timeliness, professionalism, etc.. That would prevent ratings based on subjective criteria.
EDIT: Never mind. I'm just going to focus on being a good cuddle partner.
I would rather spend my time cuddling than designing blue prints for ratings. I think some of yall are missing the point here. Just try to be good to your cuddle friends and don't worry so much about all this. Probably at least 15 percent of folks I've met from here didn't even want to exchange karma just wasn't t their thing. Like it or not the rating system is here to stay as is . Might as well focus on things you can change, like being a good cuddle partner.
@pmvines 💯
@TxTom Hilarious! @pmvines You are a great one, so I second that!
@mike403 on the site it would be hard to tell how challenging it is for you but in person I think it’s clear that you’re super brave and while it may not be your comfort zone you interact in a genuine caring way. I think our only problem in cuddling is me interrupting you too much… 😂😂😂 I’m a chatter box. I don’t think anyone would rate you less than 5.
Also, it is super damaging for an enthusiast to get less stars. I was about to tab away from this guy because he had 3 stars and I’m sitting there thinking… okay he did something…. NO!!! She was so complementary in what she said and it hit as her genuine opinion that I was like… what does it take to get a four from you and do you realize you tanked this guy??? I cuddled him and would have given him a seven. So the rating system of most things needs changing. You can tank your Uber driver the same way. In your mind you’re like that was pretty good I’ll give them a 3-4 and in the minds of the algorithm it’s like… career over.
I am NOT for giving people more or less stars than they actually deserve. It’s just hard to gauge what the value of stars are across various platforms. So when rating a book or movie I feel the star system is weighted pretty well at five stars but in customer service it seems like 10 or 3 stars would actually help more.
Ten so people can think of an accurate number
Or
3 so people are more aware of what a limited amount of stars means. Awesome, average, bad. Five is still small and hard to gauge.
So more of a range or so small it’s clear.
Here no stars seem to mean: 1: I’m too nice to give a bad review 2: scared of retaliation 3: enjoyed myself but forgot 4: too shy to write a review or don’t know what to say 5: it was a three but I know that’s not great here so I won’t comment 6: meh… 7: no comment 8: sucked saying that makes me seem like a jerk.
There are probably more but that’s my take.
@stormydaycuddle - I'd probably end up leaving the site if I received a rating like that.
The stars should go away IMO and just allow people to leave comments about their experience. If the person is really bad as in pushing boundaries, etc..., they should be banned.
@stormydaycuddle - Also, with the Uber driver, if their rating falls before 4.2, the system automatically bans their account.
edit: I looked it up. It's actually 4.6
Of course this thread was started by a man. Lol.. sorry but. "Karma is a bitch. What goes around comes back around".... on this platform karma is CLEARLY used mainly by the females to communicate to others their experience as to not get a creeper experience. As fun as those are....... just saying. Isn't that obvious?
Also, so people know people are real. We are in a world of crooked cons. 5 stars is ones best attempt at saying i am a real respectful cuddler that won't rape you.
Does that help you understand why everyone is either a 5 star or a no star? 😉😬😖
I think rather than a star rating system, a simple would recommend/would not recommend percentage with comments would work better. People who had a positive experience could recommend the cuddler and leave a review with all the good. People who had negative experiences could not recommend and explain what went wrong. And people who had mixed interactions or who didn't click for whatever reason could abstain from recommendation if they prefer, and still leave a review so that others could decide if there would be deal breakers for them or if it was just bad chemistry.
Edit to add: I think showing a percentage of would/would not/abstain recommendations would be far more useful and transparent than a star system where weighting causes us to think anything less than 5 is not good.
Everyone deserves 5 stars if your both able to walk away safe, healthy, and satisfied with their cuddle session
