@cuddlefaery @Sideon - I'm only giving possible reasons why somebody might be irritated about the increase of pros if the site didn't start out that way. I personally like having pros on the site because that's the only way that somebody like me can get any cuddles.
Anyways, I'm stepping out of this thread. I feel like I argue too much and get on peoples nerves.
@stormydaycuddle stay weird, but also stay lovely.
Some may say that’s inappropriate but if you told me I’d judge you and keep it to myself.
It can be true that professional cuddles are needed and necessary while there is a need for a non transactional fulfillment of these needs is also needed and necessary."
Very nicely put @BashfulLoner and I completely agree. As a pro cuddler I also give plenty of free cuddles: to my husband, my family, my friends, my colleagues, any and every animal that will let me(!) etc etc. Believing in genuine non-transactional human contact and being a professional cuddler are not mutually exclusive.
@Mike403 I just read that thread you linked, and I believe you misread it... There has always been pros on the site, and what Mark was asking was if having them was problematic for people. If I understand correctly, the professional designation and booking application may be newer, but allowing professionals to include that info on their profile has always been allowed as long as they were not soliciting services through the site.
Also, I don't believe your comments have been problematic. There is a difference between arguing and debate, and respectful debate should always be encouraged imo 🙂
@BoomerSpooner duh.
Well one post with zero responses or follow up posts has sure created a bunch of hooey blah blah flibbity blop so well done OP, well done 👏
@cuddlefaery - I get it. My autistic brain loves to learn but at the same may misunderstand what something is saying. That thread as well as other things I read in the forums led me to believe that this site only had enthusiasts on it when it first started.
@pmvines i feel as if this could have gone worse. Especially since I did comment on it and as of yet I haven’t been burned at the stake.
@stormydaycuddle and I have only felt compelled to bring up poops twice
Eventually you'll only bring it up once every five years.
Problem is when women aren't pro they get 100 cuddle requests for every 1 cuddler.
@stormydaycuddle Do you prefer cedar, cherry, pine or some other sort for the pyre?
Oooh!!! I have a choice? Cherry!!!
@stormydaycuddle @teddybear888 why not go expensive and bougie AF and choose Palo Santo? You deserve it, queen
@cuddlefaery helps with purifying too. Ty for the idea. Hugs.
When they can afford to build me a proper fire... I'll take that as my time. hahaha
I was about to suggest sage…
I'm going to be perfectly honest but this is a topic I'm really interested in, and I think a lot of constructive discussion can come from it although it may be seen as controversial to some especially on this site.
The benefits/harm of professional Cuddling ties a lot into the topic of consumerism, which is a very old topic consisting of many pros and cons and can get pretty philosophical at times.
I personally don't see anything wrong with selling "human touch" as a service, because I think it's simply supply meeting a demand. As long as it's safe then I don't think anyone should be shamed for selling something that they own because that is entirely up to them.
I think what I do have a problem with is the idea of professional cuddling being advertised as something of a necessity in a person's life akin to therapy, almost like this wonderful thing that can do no harm and only good. The truth of the matter is you'd be hard pressed to find any mental health professional that would recommend anyone seek a professional cuddler on the regular, at least from my perspective. This can be a tough pill to swallow, but its also the truth.
I also think it's sad to see that there are people on here that genuinely believe they are unworthy of human touch without first paying for it. At times I count myself among this population, and maybe I am using professional cuddling as an easier and less healthy alternative to confronting my self esteem issues, who knows.
If you are to ask me what my opinion is on what is ethical or not, I would say that it is up to everyone to consume responsibly. But I definitely think we should see more of a message here that paying for human connection shouldn't entirely be substituted for the real thing. Everyone here is worthy of unconditional love.
