✨ Spirituality ✨ and Cuddling

My apologies if this has already been touched on. I scrolled back at least ten pages to check, and I did see threads about breath work and the Universe, but I wanted to get even more specific.

Has anyone else noticed a correlation between cuddling and spirituality? I feel like a lot of people in the cuddle community are either into it or are more open to discuss it. It makes sense to me - spiritualists tend to seek divine connection with others and lead with love, forgiveness, and understanding more than non-spiritualists typically do. (No shade to non-spiritualists. They quite obviously can be just as kind and loving without the presence of Spirit in their life.)

Where are my spiritualists at, and do you like to incorporate it into your cuddle sessions? I've done meditation with my clients before, and my office decor is VERY strongly influenced by spirituality. I've had conversations with clients about it. (Not EVER about religion - That's a topic I stay away from, just like politics.) I like to talk to my clients about chakras and/or manifestation. I sage my office once in a while. I meditate before a session if I'm feeling anxious and I don't want to pass that energy onto my client.

I'd love to hear from my fellow starseeds. 🥰

  • I've recently gotten into meditation.
I find it comforting to just sit there and listen to healing music as I focus on my breathing.
I would honestly love to learn about chakras.
I find myself calmer when I sit with legs crossed and I was told that's because it lines up my chakras.

  • @Jova114 - Yes, exactly! This is the tapestry in my office.

  • @PixiePassions
    That's beautiful!
I wish I could book a session with you and meditate

I'm not really spiritual myself for no other reason than it doesnt really suit me, but I am extremely fascinated by all kinds of spirituality and theology. There's beauty in all of it.

Sometimes I feel like I want to learn more about how a lot of spiritual beliefs work, but it's hard to when I'm not spiritual myself.

  • @Jova114 - Likewise 🥰

@Ripley54566 - Totally understandable. At least you're open to it. 😊 For me it started with an interest in witchcraft from a very young age, then a couple of years ago I discovered Dolores Cannon on YouTube and listened to her "Between Death and Life" video while I was doing my chores and it absolutely snowballed from there.

  • Nope, I have clients from a multitude of religions and beliefs (as stated on their profiles) pretty much across the spectrum. Interestingly, I have heard complaints from some about Paid Cuddlers who want to push their beliefs onto clients (praying together, discussions, even book suggestions.)

As someone who's done HR for years, I know better than delve into discussing my own ideologies on sensitive topics. NOPE!

  • @AllAboutSoul - religious discussions pushed by Pros? Yikes. I'd haul out my favorite song quote from Talking Heads' "Life During Wartime":

"This ain't no party, this ain't no disco
    This ain't no fooling around
No time for dancing, or lovey-dovey
I ain't got time for that now..."

  • ...a correlation between cuddling and spirituality?... spiritualists tend to seek divine connection...

From the perspective of a spiritual layman (i.e., I'm not vocal on spiritual matters much, so my words are clumsy), I think any meaningful connection with another person increases, or amplifies, divine connection.

For example, when astronomers combine radio telescopes, they can see deeper into space.

Or, some of that stuff Yoda said about the energy that surrounds us and binds us together. (Yeah, it's a movie, but there's some truth in those words, I believe.)

  • @PixiePassions
I discovered QHHT last September when I couldn’t breathe after having Covid. It’s the only thing that helped me be able to breathe. I am really interested in metaphysics and spiritual things.

  • Everyone is spiritual. Cuddling is spiritual.

  • @AllAboutSoul - I definitely never force. I put out feelers and see if they're open to it. If not, I shut it down. Reformed Catholic school girl. I don't believe in forcing beliefs on anyone, I had it done to me too much as it is.

@TxTom - Well said, both your words and the movie quote. (It being a movie quote doesn't invalidate the message as a whole.)

@INurturePeace - Oh goodness! I'm so glad you found something to help you through it, and something so awesome, at that.

@PeopleLikeUs - I'd say everyone has the ability to be spiritual, but many choose not to be. (And that's perfectly okay.)

  • @PixiePassions People have no choice in the matter.

  • @PeopleLikeUs - We are all spirits/souls having a human experience, but not every person is outwardly spiritual as in acknowledging their spirituality/soul or partaking in some sort of spiritual practice. (And plenty who outright deny it, scoff at it, call us "woo woos", etc.) Which again, is their right. It is pretty "out there" if you're not in touch with it.

@PixiePassions That is awesome! I do talk about manifestation with clients but yet to include meditating. I did offer a 30 min Reiki session if someone wanted it. Did not get that much attention so I removed it from my profile. One day I hope to include more things to help even if it is just sound bowls.

  • @RadiantBecca - Yesss, manifesting! And for the Reiki, it can take time for those things to catch on, I hope you get to play around with it again, because it's amazing ☺️ And sound bowls are sooooo cool

@PixiePassions I am a bunch of labels I normally don't share because of the whole dismissive "woo woo" reactions I get from others. What I will share is that I had a bunch of...let's label them "spiritual" things I could always do naturally, without trying, without understanding and it made me different and othered. In being an outcast, I turned to books, and made many attempts throughout my life to find people like me, so I could find a sense of belonging. I even tried rejecting all my "gifts" in hopes I would stop feeling so rejected by others.

Where I am now in my journey - there is no one like me, I'm a unicorn, and now I use the spiritual tools I was born with to attempt to heal myself. I belong to myself, and that has to be enough because that's all I have :)

I'm going to check Dolores Cannon out.

  • @Concordiaesque - That is so beautiful 🥰 And definitely do ☺️

    @PeopleLikeUs:

@PixiePassions People have no choice in the matter.

I assure you, we absolutely do. It is often comments and mindsets like this which help us make that choice.

  • @PixiePassions - as someone who is seeking to understand, what would you define a spiritualist as?

I see cuddling inherently as seeking fundamental connection to others. There's a Nikola Tesla quote that always has rang with me:

"Though free to think and act, we are held together, like the stars in the firmament, with ties inseparable. These ties cannot be seen, but we can feel them. I cut myself in the finger, and it pains me: this finger is a part of me. I see a friend hurt, and it hurts me, too: my friend and I are one. And now I see stricken down an enemy, a lump of matter which, of all the lumps of matter in the universe, I care least for, and it still grieves me. Does this not prove that each of us is only part of a whole?
For ages this idea has been proclaimed in the consummately wise teachings of religion, probably not alone as a means of insuring peace and harmony among men, but as a deeply founded truth. The Buddhist expresses it in one way, the Christian in another, but both say the same: We are all one."

I don't know enough about spiritualism to say whether any of my views could be considered spiritualist, but I would venture to say that the handful of people I've had the pleasure of cuddling all showed up with the desire to experience life through another's eyes and hands, and to have their lives acknowledged in turn... I'd argue that mentality is a necessary mindset for cuddling based on my limited experience. Was that the question you were asking, or did I misunderstand?

  • I do energy, healing, and energy work, so it’s definitely connected. Cuddling also helps me groan more, I am noticing lately. There are times I can also tell when someone’s energy is off or it’s beneficial for me to hold space for them.

More than a few times, I’ve had a professional say that they should be paying me, lol. It’s in my nature as a caregiver. Which goes along with my spirituality.

  • My spiritual journey is partly molded by the fact that I was raised in an environment where people thrust their views on me in a matter-of-fact way that assumed that I would perfectly mirror those views. For many years, I tried to do so, and I had myself believing it.

One of the scariest things of my life was when I finally challenged that assumption about 7 years ago. It's also one of the best things I've done. I discarded everything, and asked myself honestly what was true for me.

There are a few places where my childhood perspective overlaps with my current perspective, but the biggest shift is that my mind is now open to considering new things that I haven't previously experienced. This shift has opened up an exciting new world for me.

I would call this a spiritual experience. Others may call it something else. What my personal journey boils down to is allowing my true inner self and the external expression of myself come into alignment with one another.

@Concordiaesque definitely check out Dolores Cannon, she is great. You are unique and that is okay 😊

  • Yes, many of the cuddly people I've met in my area are spiritual and into energy work and many related things. :)
