Oh freddled gruntbuggly, Thy micturations are to me, As plurdled gabbleblotchits, in midsummer morning On a lurgid bee...
@JoyfulHeart , why are you torturing and causing physical pain to the other members of this site? Please keep your Vogon poetry to yourself :P
🤓🤓
Are you going to send me to the Total Perspective Vortex? 😯
No, I'll just hand you a plastic cup filled with a liquid that is almost, but not quite, entirely unlike tea.
Cheers
I actually laughed out loud. 🤣
I’m taking this year as dead for tax purposes.
@VinDavid
In the words of the bowl of petunias, "Oh no! Not again!"
I have a poem...
There once was a man from Nantucket ....
I forgot the rest
42
Some of my favorites- "Time is an illusion. Lunchtime, doubly so."
"It must be Thursday. I never could get the hang of Thursdays."
I can't wait for someone to say to me, "Wanna see my spaceship?"
(Incidentally, I happened to be wearing a Hitchhiker's Don't Panic t-shirt right now. 😊)
🙃
@Pandapixie I think I love you (in an entirely platonic way) giggles
My favorite is: This planet has - or rather had - a problem, which was this: most of the people living on it were unhappy for pretty much of the time. Many solutions were suggested for this problem, but most of these were largely concerned with the movement of small green pieces of paper, which was odd because on the whole it wasn't the small green pieces of paper that were unhappy.
oh and for @JoyfulHeart You know," said Arthur, "it's at times like this, when I'm trapped in a Vogon airlock with a man from Betelgeuse, and about to die of asphyxiation in deep space that I really wish I'd listened to what my mother told me when I was young."
"Why, what did she tell you?"
"I don't know, I didn't listen."
Rather than Vogon poetry, Douglas Adams best quote I can remember. “I love deadlines: I love the sound they make as they whoosh past”.
He was renown for missing deadlines by ages!!
@Concordiaesque I was thinking the same thing 😊
"In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move"
....42, but what is the question? ;p
"The ships hung in the sky in much the way that bricks don't."
Let us not forget the Great Green Arkleseizure Theory circulated by the Jatravartids of Viltvodle 6. Could these beings have not only foreseen the current Crisis in Cosmology, but put forward a solution to it?
I guess you can't react to posts here? Just have to mention them in a new post . Lotta good ones
I enjoy nerding out over shared interests. Thanks for picking this topic.
@Pandapixie agreed! ...once you know what the question actually is, you'll know what the answer means.
I've always wanted to drink a Pan-Galactic Gargle Blaster, so I could experience the sensation of having my brains smashed out by a slice of lemon wrapped round a large gold brick.
@Concordiaesque Yeah...I want to know! or do I?
I'm guessing it has to do finding happiness and chocolate. ;p
Well @Pandapixie, if you consider the theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable and that there is another theory which states that this has already happened...we'll probably never know. But I'd love to find happiness, I'd even share the chocolate!
Ooo @Concordiaesque , excellent answer! That is one of my favorites I had forgotten. 42 pieces is enough to share. Sharing makes me happier. Like sharing cuddles
@Pandapixie sharing cuddles while reading Douglas Adams? Sounds like the definition of happiness!
Has anyone said 42 yet? I didn’t see it skimming. Also, why aren’t we a bypass yet?
@stormydaycuddle Bear did...Perhaps the original Earth had already been destroyed and we're currently living in the replica? Might be an explanation for the dystopia.
@Concordiaesque yeah Or while watching the movie. I really liked the adaptation which isn't easy to say with books usually.
@stormydaycuddle Maybe the paperwork wasn't filed properly?
It could happen anytime. I have my towel ready.
I've always wanted to go to Sqornshellous Zeta to get a mattress.
@stormydaycuddle
Has anyone said 42 yet?
They have, but I think they were referencing their diastolic pressure.
I feel like I should wrap a towel around my head.
@Unscented_Lemon that's one way to make sure you always have it on you
