Fall is my favorite time of year. Even though in Texas it's not much of a thing... Today is the autumnal equinox. Any big plans? Rituals to bring in the season?
Lots of rain over on the east coast and damp coldness. I guess it's better than the inhospitable humidity and heat.
I have to think about that while I drink my pumpkin spice, put on my uggs, and observe the fall colors.
Well, actually there's a Chinese tradition to bring in the fall equinox w the Moon Festival and we have pastries filled w sweet bean paste and egg yolks signifying the moon (maybe wholeness and luck too). I think you can get them at the Chinese grocery store, Costco , or Amazon. I would like to go to a haunted forest but we'll see.
Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness.
My favorite two weeks of the year.
Happy Mabon indeed π
@MissAdventurous first time I've seen anyone acknowledge Mabon! That gave me a warm feeling inside, thank you
Last night I lit an "Autumn Harvest" candle someone had gifted me. Today, I'm taking out all my Hallowe'en decorations and will probably end up leaving them out all year
@Concordiaesque πππ so welcome.
This is how my main partner at home has been since I started pulling things out from attic last week and starting the holiday shopping. I throw a Halloween party each year and people are already asking about it π€£π€£ππ
Trying to set up house before I left for cruise so I can focus on invites and food recipes when I get back.
So I'm all for pulling those decorations down. π
@MissAdventurous omgs I love it giggles I'd so live in that house! haha
Lol then let me indulge you with me Halloween tree and fall bouquet...
Lol I collect gnomes ππ
omgs squee I LOVE the eyeball tree topper! You've definitely motivated to pull out all my decorations today Tis the season and all!
Iβm so excited for the fall to be here! Itβs like built in A/C haha
I canβt wait until I donβt need to use the air conditioning.
I think my AC is off maybe 2 weeks a year lol I love all the decorations!
@Thomas48 Do you mean two days? Thatβs what I say, the two days in the Fall and the two days in the Spring that feel perfect. Those are my favorites. So, totally agree with you!
The leaves are turning, the air is crisp...soon, our local herd of deer will come down from the peaks and graze all winter in our back field. π¦π¦π¦ Fall is awesome because it means winter is on its way to me!! π¨

@KaaGee I am going to a Cacao ceremony this Saturday in a beautiful woodland setting in SW Ohio. Iβm camping there then participating in a full moon gathering on Sunday evening. Not completely autumn related as the groups does this every month but it will be a type of outdoor festival at the beginning of Autumn!
yard work! a lot of yard work π
I just wish the temp would drop here, it's still around 80 degrees here every day
@JohnR1972 that sounds amazing!
@Lithellyl 80 sounds awesome, still in the 90s every day here
@Lithellyl We had a high of 59, this weekend. Come up to the mountains! βοΈ
@SunsetSnuggles oh I definitely would if I could
Just waiting to go apple picking π at one of my favorite apple orchards πππ₯° !!!
It was still up to 100 degrees over the weekend in DFW so Iβm only dreaming of my favorite season and vaguely remembering from growing up in the Midwest. I think i will have to get in my car and start driving north to find Fall. @SunsetSnuggles i love being in CO in the Fall. And itβs not too far from KC.
Some of the trees in Middle TN have started changing, and some nights have dropped into the low 60s or upper 50s. Fall is here.
@JohnR1972 that Cacao ceremony sounds amazing.
@TNNative - I am really looking forward to it. It will be my first ceremony but I have been consuming ceremonial grade cacao in my coffee every morning for about the past year. In South America it has been used for ages for medicinal purposes. A recent study in the U.S. shows that it quadruples stem cell production in people so the idea of it being used as a medicine really makes a lot of sense.
This Saturday and Sunday are supposed to be a low of 56 and a high of 78 where I am camping so it should be perfect sleeping weather! π
@JohnR1972 I have heard about the benefits and have some friends who no longer drink coffee but cacao instead (or mushroom "coffee").
@TNNative - I have some of that too π I have a couple bags of 4 Sigmatic coffee that is made with Lions Mane Mushrooms (all legal, they are not βmagicβ). Flavor wise it is OK. I cant taste the mushroom in the coffee but the coffee itself is just βokβ.
I get my cacao in the form of Cacao Bliss from Earth Echo in Colorado. They mix cacao with MCT oil, turmeric, and a couple of other ingredients. When mixed in coffee it gives your coffee a bit of a mocha flavor and it is delicious.
I donβt have any idea how much the cacao might actually be helping me. I have been blessed with very good health so I didnβt have any health issues when I started taking it. I view it more as preventive medicine than restorative medicine.
I think I am going to like the camping and community at the ceremony and I will probably become a regular at the monthly ceremonies.
@JohnR1972 sooo jelly of the lovely camping weather! I hope you have a fantastic trip!
@MissAdventurous those decorations are so lovely! I've just put blankets everywhere to try and stay warm, it's very chilly here in the UK brrrr
@SunsetSnuggles you are right about one thing. It is cuddle season!
Fall is my favorite season! The decor, warm food, and being wrapped up in blankets! It is better to have a cuddle partner either outside near the fire pit or on a couch!
I love my seasonal door decor.
