I use filters from time to time but i try to keep it as close to the realistic appearance i can present because if i have brown eyes, there is no point of using blue eyes filter at least in a profile dependent on me showing myself accurately.

I have only adjusted the brightness in my photos, cropped them, and done basic things to do, but a lot of that has to do with the fact I'm a little bit older (39) and I don't know how to use filters. I don't think it's fair to falsely advertise who you are either, so I wouldn't do it, even if I knew how. I'm sure my pics aren't as great as some others' because of it, but that's OK.
There are definitely different levels of filtering and editing. I do edit my photos using this app called Lensa, which pretty much just helps with the lighting and coloring of the photo more than it changes my actual appearance. I don’t see any harm in editing out a pimple that’s not even gonna be on your face forever anyway, or concealing things that you would normally conceal with make up such as dark circles, I don’t really see the purpose in editing your photos to the point where you no longer look recognizable on a website that is designed have people meet up to cuddle in real life. I feel like that’s a really bad first impression to look drastically different than your photos online. I also do a video call with so they can see me before they physically meet me in person. It is sad that we live in such a shallow world where appearances matter so much, but I understand the pressure to look good, especially as a professional having a pretty face is a good marketing tool, but it can also lead to the wrong kind of attention. I’ve had numerous people reject me for being “too attractive” 🙃. So there really is no winning.

I wish people would quit knocking beauty, regardless what form it takes. The world has become obsessed with hating things that are perfectly natural. There is nothing wrong with being beautiful on the inside and/or on the outside.

I've never used filters, no hate to people that do but I'd rather people see a fair representation of what I look like. If they don't like my profile pics they won't like me in real life lol. I can understand celebs doing this, they get photographed constantly which must be annoying if you're having a bad hair day.

Them fake Gucci belts, and Rolex watches, you mean we ain't gonna talk about them?? Oh no! Lol. That's a whole other story anyway, so you're right, I ain't gonna go there.
Now why do I filter my pictures?
I don't really, I've done it once or twice in the past just for fun. Though not to use on a platform and make it seem like that's what I really look like. Unless the platform is my personal page and also has my regular photos. The other type I might also do is one that clearly appears silly and edited. So nothing to make it seem like I've no blemishes, and whatnot.

I personally love all your picture after the first two, while the first two look nice too, I think you've backgrounds in the rest that complement your skin tone well. They aren't like model shoot, though that can be a good thing because sometimes that can make people feel like it's a take account. They are natural and nicely taken.
I have only ever used a black n white filter for fun. And I used some stickers for fun once but not any face altering or fake makeup filters
In a personal space go for it. Me personally I would much rather see you for you and not filters. I don't hate on them just prefer to see the real you. I like to edit my photos from a creative side.
I don't use filters on any of my profile pics. The only possible exception is the mermaid shot which was done by a pro photographer who added the rocks post shoot. I don't know if she used any filters.
