I have a Quest 2, I am super into Meta Horizon World's! I have made tons of friends on there and found lots of support for things I'm going through. Seriously some amazing people on there! There are worlds (rooms) that are 18+ or 18+ after a certain time. There are so many places to see, bars, comedy clubs, mazes, different types of games, haunted houses, fishing, bowling and more! There are some places with private areas to talk, like beds, lounges etc.!
@ShaneSchrute - You technically aren't supposed to use them outdoors because the lenses act like magnifying glasses. Some people used to fry ants or grasshoppers as a kid with a magnifying glass. The same thing will happen to the screen inside the headset if sunlight gets in there.
A better reference is how some people use the magnifying glass as a medium to redirect the suns rays and burn images onto wood as a form of art.

Wow @Mike403 that MR/AR sword fight is so real looking. I find it particularly captivating when it’s mixed reality. I could imagine the paranoia and even ptsd playing COD this way.

I can't really play any VR games where my character is moving and I'm not because of motion sickness. However, I can play Beat Saber for hours with a sweat rag and water bottle nearby. 😅 It serves as a great workout when I don't feel like making it to the gym.

The Elite Headstrap is $129 for the one that includes a battery which extends the time from 2 hours to about 4. The battery also acts as a counter weight so the headset isn't heavier on the front. Kinda worth it if comfort is important to you.

First Encounters is an app that comes preinstalled that showcases the new Mixed Reality feature. The technology is crazy.
VR makes is possible to instantly travel to any place in the world. I stood on the summit of Mount Everest and was able to look around and take in all the sights just like being there except without the cold or having the climb the mountain.

Although the elaborate planning and execution of actually climbing Mt. Everest is much more rewarding and life-affirming than "being there" via a VR headset.

My first experience with VR was in the mid '90s. This game is called Dactyl Nightmare. It looks like crap for today's standards but it was revolutionary at the time. Just donning a VR headset and being immersed in another world was something else. I think the arcade that had it charged $5 per game.
My roommate has one and it's awesome, but unfortunately most games aren't compatible with a seated player, which I often have to be due to various health conditions. Some have the option, which is lovely, but for most of them it's clearly an afterthought so you often lose a lot of the visual experience because the scenes are set up to be enjoyed most from a standing position 🤷🏼

@Runawaycuddles - There's two of them. Moss and Moss Book II (the sequel to the first one).
That review is for the PlayStation VR version, but it's also on the Quest and PCVR headsets.
I thought this was a really cool mixed reality experience. It's currently on the AppLab which is free experimental software for the device.

@stormydaycuddle - Mixed Reality is a newest feature which is awesome. There isn't a lot of Quest 3 exclusive content yet that really utilizes it.
It has full color passthrough and a depth sensor used by some apps and games. The Quest 2 had black and white passthrough.
Beat Saber is still the most popular VR game. Everyone who has experienced modern VR has had to of played this game. The game was released on the original Quest 1 as well as PC VR and PlayStation VR headsets.
This is an interesting one.
This game is insane. You play as a video game addicted kid in 1995 and the bosses literally jump out of the screen and fill the environment. In this level, it's a typical 2D side-scroller similar to Castlevania and the level boss reminds me of Star Fox for the SNES.
This one takes you back to 1989 with a twist. You're a young kid playing on something that resembles a Game Boy while at school either in the classroom or at recess. While in the classroom, you have to not get caught by the teacher. The boss battles are the most entertaining. They pop out of the system and start attacking the school and kids.
This game just came out and is free for those who have purchased a Quest 3.
