Road trip: Texas Here I come ⭐️

So excited to be venturing off on a multi-state road trip soon. First stop will be in Arizona to visit the Grand Canyon. Other places I'll be staying in or visiting include Albuquerque, the Carlsbad Carverns, San Antonio Riverwalk, Fort Stockton and Tucson. Staying a couple of nights in Katy, Texas to check out the greater Houston area as it is a leading candidate to relocate to next year. I'd be very grateful for any tips on places to see (or avoid), restaurants, etc. Thanks yall 😘

    I hope you enjoy your stay. I've only been to Austin, but the food and culture there was awesome. I once drove cross country and when I camped in Texas, despite having different political stances w some locals, they still gave me a hefty donation for my travels and we're willing to listen to my opinions and agree on points which they found reasonable.

    There's a new meow Wolf in grapevine I plan on checking out next week while in Dallas. 😍 If you've never heard of them, it's like an interactive art exhibit with a whole storyline. @MissX I hope you have a great time on your trip 💕

    Bearizona in Williams, AZ is a fun zoo. Williams is on the way to the Grand Canyon.

    There’s really nothing of note in Tucson. Sedona or Bisbee are much more interesting in my experience.

    In Tucson:

    1. Sonora Desert Museum (This is actually a zoo but it is one of the most unique zoos you will find) The otter exhibit is worth the price of admission alone.

    2. Old Tucson (an old movie set where the High Chaparral tv show and several western movies were filmed) Get your dressed up old West picture done here

    3. Mount Lemmon great for hiking, fishing very scenic

    4. Saguaro National Park

    5. Kitt Peak Observatory

    6. Tombstone (yes, that Tombstone). A couple of hours drive Southeast of the city. Fun all day visit.

    7. Tumacacori National Historic Park

    8. Seven Falls—you hike there on a trail that even beginners can do to waterfalls and a swimming area

    9. Sabino Canyon

    10. Pima Air and Space Museum

    11. Then there are the usual art museums, historical museums, city zoo etc.

    And….the world’s largest airplane boneyard in the world:

    I would also add that one of the fun things to do in Arizona is hike to ghost towns. There are several books that tell you the locations and hiking trails.

    Have been to fort stockton many times, not my kinda town. guessing that's just a sleepover from you in between the drive from tucson to katy

    If you are going to be cuddling in those cities I might need to meet up with you. Frequently in abq, tucson and occasionally in san antonio

    @Cessna_guy bearizona/williams is awesome, but it looks like she's traveling on the i-10, those sites are up on the 40, quite a bit off route.

    I lived in Katy, Texas for a little. It was sweet. Austin is really lively though, especially during the lights festival around Christmas time. It was pretty cool. If you go on the helicopter ride there it’s really pretty to see from above. If you end up visiting the area around then I’d really recommend that experience.

    Wow thanks for all the good tips and best wishes. So much to see and do along the way. @wilderdude Actually on the way East we're planning on using the 40 to cut across and then drop down to the 10 and use it for the return trip so might have to check out @Cessna_guy recommendations. You're right Ft Stockton is mainly just for the location on where it fits on the journey. Unfortunately I won't be doing any sessions this trip but if all goes well I'll be back next year to relocate. 🙏
