Does anyone have a favorite brand of water that they swear by or do you prefer to use filtered water?
Honestly, I have never liked bottled water, it tastes of phthalates if it sits too long. Pure water shouldnt taste anything by itself unless you add some needed electrolytes.
Fiji. 😂😂😂 Everywhere we went in Aspen last time it was, “Would you like tap water or Fiji water for the table?” In Vail I kid you not it’s Perrier. So there’s a joke now about needing Fiji water at restaurant or it’s clearly not on par. 😂😂
I'm very picky about my water. Most tastes like absolute crap (well, more metallic than anything). Evian and Fiji are the only ones I can drink at room temperature (unless really thirsty). I can actually drink many taps if iced, as well as the CostCo purified water. Dasani is revolting even iced.
Meant to add, the bottled water in Europe is all pretty decent, even at room temp.

I usually get BodyArmor Sport Water because of the larger opening lol. That or Liquid Death for when I need to murder my thirst.
I grew up on purified water from the health food store. Now we distill our own water. I won't drink tap unless I'm truly desperate. The orange gunk that our distiller pulls out of the system is absolutely horrendous. And yes, we add electrolytes back in after removing all dem gross minerals. 😆

Depends. Everything is relative. I wouldn’t drink the water in Flint, MI or Jackson, MS. Other places the tap water is fantastic. And a study in 2006 found that the Fuji bottled water contains arsenic because technically it is a mineral water from a volcano. So much arsenic that it was considerably higher than the tap water the locals drink.
We really don’t need more plastics being used. Use a water filter.
The water I want to drink
I drink tap water. And I drink some seltzer water for a treat, since pretty much all I drink is water. For Seltzer, I love Bubly. My favorite is lime, with blackberry as second. I haven’t tried all the flavors though.
I think a high-quality water filter is best actually. The high use of plastic in general bothers me. I was just thinking that if you have money to buy bottled water that is fortunate to have so much discretionary income. I know for people trying really hard to eat and drink healthy it is not seen as using discretionary income or luxury. What I wouldn't give to be in you all's shoes for a few days. You make your lives sound so good.
This is a little off-topic but it's strange when people avoid plastic most of the time but always drink out of plastic straws. And so many recyclers I know IRL won't buy in bulk or peel their own potatoes instead of buying ready-made potatoes in plastic. There again, I've been on both sides of this and it's not feasible to peel your own potatoes when you are so tired and rundown from work you can barely get home. Lots of things nowadays aren't black and white to me.

@achetocuddle thanks yeah one of the reasons why I made the thread is I usually suffer from kidney stones about twice a year and I’ve tried like many different brands of water. I’ve tried filtering my own water I tried sparkling water, and I’ve noticed that definitely some water taste better than others. There’s just some water that I won’t even drink anymore, so I just thought it would be interesting to see what everybody else does for their hydration

Filtered water while indoors is preferred if possible. I prefer most spring water brands, some spring water tastes icky, though. Florida water in general can taste a bit sulfur-y. I avoid tap when possible unless cooking ( I might make tea or soup from tap water, even then I'll try to use filtered if possible).
Water is the next battlefield as the world population continues to grow while potable water sources decreases. And here in the US those lines are divided along class and income level. There are systemic reasons why Flint, MI and Jackson, MS endure water catastrophes and their suburbs do not. Ironically, bottled water sales are indicators of where the better drinking sources are but those people won’t drink the tap water.
@PeterPanda Are you sure you are 55, lol? You must be doing a lot of things right. I like your forthright and to-the-point profile. I've never heard of that water but even the name sounds tasty. Wales fascinates me. I believe there must be good people there from what I've read.
@sunnysideup Sulfur water is horrible. Back in the day in my area that's all some people had besides caught rainwater. I do not miss those days, lol. Like my dad said when I was a young adult "These are the good old days."
@lonelytauros I don't know why kidney stones discriminate against men and I hate to hear you have them. From what I've seen kidney stones will bring any person down. I don't care how tough you are.

The problem really isn't too many people or too little water. The problem is an over abundance of a self-serving political class that lacks altruism and vision, and spends our taxes on waste and fraud.
If I was in charge, we'd have giant industrial desalination plants up and down the East and West coasts converting ocean water into potable water. And we would have constructed magnificent pipelines from each coast delivering the water to the center of the country.
Again, it's not a lack of water, it's a lack of imagination and will.

My only terrible experience is disani (ironically corrected as disability) and bad experience is Aquafina. But currently my favorite is blk water, liquid death is fair but i buy it most the time. I try all sparkling waters when i see them.
Most every time we go shopping for groceries I see people buying cart loads of soda pop in their respective varieties, hence its a possibility thats their brand of water. I use 5 gal refillable jugs filtered at the grocer, I like it because it has no taste or phthalates, but have filter on the fridge if needed. Its kindof a workout hauling them around too.

I grew up, drinking Chicago tapwater and loved it. Nowadays, I use a filter on my tapwater. I noticed a difference and I like the filtered water taste better. Sometimes I’ll get bottled water for work or if I’m taking a road trip. Sometimes I just drink seltzer water, but usually flavored.
I laugh remembering the days I would drink from a garden hose. I’m not a water snob, but worry about the condition of most water sources anymore. I won’t touch bottled water unless I absolutely have to. I’m ok with tap water if I’ve had the source tested, but even now live in an area where the taste and clarity can change from day to day.
I use a few different kinds of filters and keep them changed often.
The people that lived beside us in Arizona when I was in 3rd grade drank out of the toilet. They seemed robust and plump as a result.
@NickWk 😄 Oh yeah, the hose, the sprinklers...I remember noticing they tasted different, but not considering it unpleasant.
