Can anyone relate?

So I am very sensitive to stimuli, of all kinds. And when I'm doing anything that I enjoy I find the need to dampen my other senses to focus on the sensations in that moment. In terms of cuddling, that means that, 90% of the time I'm cuddling my eyes will be closed. I also don't usually put music on and while I don't mind talking if I'm cuddling for myself at some point I'll stop talking. It helps me to focus on all the wonderful sensations of warmth and touch happening.

I'm just curious if anyone else is similar to me lol I tend to find men I'm cuddling with looking at my face and I always have to explain. I don't want them to think I don't want to look at them hahah

It sounds like you are a very sensuous person, very in touch with your senses. I am the same way. If I'm listening to music, I will close my eyes to concentrate on the sounds. If I'm looking at a painting in an art gallery, I don't want anyone talking to me, I just want to be left alone to study the colors and the composition. People these days are so used to multi-tasking in their everyday lives, I think they find it hard to put all their concentration on just one thing, using just one sense. But I don't think its fair to lump all men into one category, we are all very different.

  • @UKGuy I'm glad you can relate! I am definitely very in touch with my senses ?

I wasn't lumping all men together by any means, I was simply talking about the experiences I've had.

  • I think it's naturally easier to focus with less stimuli, so closing your eyes or not having music is a good way not to be 'distracted' by those senses, or to more fully focus on another stimuli.

I think explaining why your eyes are closed, as needed, is fine. If anything, I think guys would appreciate that you enjoy and want to focus on those sensations while cuddling.

At least for me, I'm a pushover for cute girls, and being close to them is a special thing. I think looking at a girl and being able to admire her beauty (without her being turned off or feeling disrespected) is also a great thing, so for guys it's more related to that probably along with wanting to be sure you're comfortable with things. It's also somewhat natural as staring at something from too close a distance can just tire the eyes out, so while I'll look at a girl and like to look at her eyes and face a bit while cuddling or before moving in closer, once I'm close it's just easier to have my eyes closed too

  • @DeltaPng did you just call me a cute girl? I kid, I kid lol

I'm glad you can understand where I'm coming from!

And they do seem to be happy I'm enjoying myself when I explain lol eye contact can be overwhelming to me especially when that close to each other, especially when it's the first time cuddling. I feel like I share a special part of myself when there is a lot of eye contact and that's hard to do with a virtual stranger.

  • I don't think I can relate but it sound nifty.
