All karmas are 5 stars 🤩

  • I rather like the "yes/maybe/no" rating idea. A "maybe" can indicate you had a good session, but aren't sure about booking again with the same person. Or it could mean some dissatisfaction without necessarily being negative.

  • @Mailleweaver
    They usually are because negative karma always seem to get reported.

    After reading this thread , here are my thoughts..

    1. The karmas are basically exchanged between two people. That's the reason for the predominantly top stars ratings . You can't make it one way like Amazon or other ecommerce business where only the consumer post reviews, because here at the other end you have a person not a product/business.

    2. Another reason I can think of is that the number of cuddlers in your area is limited. So you tend to give 5 star to a cuddler to make sure future sessions start with a positive note. By giving poor rating you're basically closing out one option. You may not want to do it especially if there are only a handful of cuddlers in your area

    So , imho, though useful, karmas have short falls due to the nature of the concept of this site and they can't reach the accuracy of reviews that we know of!

  • @yourkindaguy those are all good points. Volume is definitely an issue. If you review a local restaurant then your review is maybe one of hundreds and likely the overall impact of your review is minimal (unless others have the same experience). If you are giving someone their very first karma it could be devastating to them. And, as you said, if your area has few pros maybe a 3-star is better than nothing. At least they show up.

    Karma here reminds me of how officer evaluation reports worked during my time in the Guard. You were rated from 1 to 10 on various attributes.

    Your score on your OER was one strong factor in who received promotion and who didn't, so the upshot is everyone got a 10 across the board and a 9 was basically the same as getting a 1.

    I treat karma here the same way because that is how it seems and I don't want to hurt anyone. If I can't give someone a five, then I wouldn't leave feedback.

    If my experience was bad but no rules were being broken and I really thought something needed to be said, I'd probably offer gentle feedback in person to the cuddler in question in an effort to help if I thought their heart was in the right place rather than leaving karma.

  • Instead of a pie chart, I would prefer a bar chart, stopping to maximum width when overflowing (maybe with a number at the end, replaced by "100+" or numbers rounded up to hundreds/thousands for people having great volumes).

    I like the idea of stars and rotten apples. I would extend it like follows:

    • handshake sign and the bar for number of the encounters had;
    • star and the bar for the number of "would do it again" encounters;
    • rotten apple and the bar for number of reported encounters;
    • X (or something else) and the bar for number of no-shows;
    • (this requires programming effort, I understand) a four-leaf clover and a percentage indicating the chance of finding acceptable user within some distance based on cuddling preferences/requirements/profiles being active, even better with a warning to take reviews with a grain of salt if the number is below a threshold.

    Of course, should it happen to have a new system, a recap for feedback with the old system should appear too.
