@carrieanne 😂
It was implied to me before that I get responses from women on here because I'm attractive (their words not mine). Attractiveness is very subjective . I'm an overweight grey bearded guy with shaggy hair and slightly lazy eye and arthritic joints who prefers hoodies and tennis shoes to dressing up . Not everybody's cup of tea . But to say that I have adequate success speaking with and meeting people from here due to looks really kinda diminishes , dismisses , and overlooks the amount of effort and work I put into building and maintaining authentic connections and friendships . I think a big part of why a lot of people have trouble connecting is because they don't try . They expect others to make all the concessions. Looks only get you so far . Even if someone did happen to message me because they thought I was cute (not saying I am, just am going with the hypothesis ) , if I only cared about myself and what they could do for me and didn't want to put any effort into getting to know them and building a solid connection so that they would WANT to be a friend and WANT to meet me, then I would likely never hear from them again .
I think the elephant in the room has been addressed sufficiently, so we will leave that aside for now. I've been on the site for quite a number of years and have cuddled some enthusiasts. Most women don’t message me back me back, this is probably part and parcel when around 85 percent of active users are men and, probably 98 percent of first time messages are from men.
@pmvines Yeah that pretty much sums up most internet interactions, feels like most people are only looking to see what they can get out if it. Someone actually trying getting to know you is a bit of fresh air. But someone in the interaction probably has to put in the effort before the other person opens up, most people don’t want to do that (and of course it’s going to be hard to do that if you don’t get a single response from everyone you’ve messaged in the past month lol)
Fascinating thread. I will simply say this -- living in a fairly small town, I can't really afford to be all that picky. So my "preferred age" entry here on CC currently has a 35 year span.
And I know CC is not a dating site. But just as a rough comparison, my dating site profiles also have a very wide age range. Again, the pool is relatively small and I'm casting a wide net, trying to meet interesting people.
@WiserGuy3000 out of curiousity, how many times does the same lady show up in multiple sites at the same time?
@chilln74
I love that perspective!! I think you are spot on. I agree that we shouldn’t anticipate being the perfect match for everyone. I KNOW that I’m not everyone’s cup of tea.
This is one of the funniest songs I’ve heard that reminds me I am perfect as I am even though I might not be perfect for EVERYONE!!
“Nobody’s everybody’s favorite, so you might as well just make it how you please” Good luck on your cuddle journey. 😊
Hey @1_teddybear -- to my recollection, I have only once seen a woman on a dating app that I recognized from CC. But everyone sets their own filters, age ranges, distance, whatever....
@lonelytauros Matthew LeBlanc is giving off some serious John Mahoney (Martin Crane) vibes.
