I used to have a lot of affection from partners, but I had an especially bad breakup that messed me up and I haven't been dating for years. I really miss touch and affection but can't seem to get back into dating.
I saw a thread on reddit from a professional cuddler and wondered if that would help me, and signed up for this and another site about a year ago. I still haven't actually used it, though. I've signed in maybe 3 times over the last few years, looked through a few profiles, and then feel too intimidated or "not ready" and don't message anyone.
I thought maybe it would be good to see a pro from Cuddlist first, and even managed to message two of them, but turns out one is 2 hours away and the other doesn't do incalls, so I haven't actually followed through on those, either. The whole thing is kind of weird and intimidating, but seems nice in theory, and maybe would help me.
Oh, and uh... I like cats. And synthwave/witch house/breakcore/doom metal, and rock climbing, and the science/math behind music and sound. (I don't know why I'm so afraid to say these things, it's not like someone I know is going to stalk me and figure out my identity and then shame me for wanting to hug people. 🙄)

Hi @Swoonkle (love the name that you picked) You are not alone. There are so many first timers who have signed up, looked around, but have not jumped into the pool per se.
I get that it can be intimidating and can make some people feel vulnerable and nervous too. Cuddling like this still a fairly new concept to the general public and many of us had never cuddled outside of relationships much before now.
