Hosting at a hotel

This is an open conversation/question. Is it just me or does hosting in a hotel room seem safer with more privacy? With so many homes being shared spaces, nosey neighbors with their security cameras, and the possibility of finding an obsessive type person while using cuddling sites. Doesn't a hotel ( mutually neutral) seem a wiser choice for all? Am I wrong or is there something I am not seeing?

  • Cuddling in a hotel is common. Whether it's better than the alternatives or worth the expense is an entirely individual matter. Cudding at home - yours or theirs - offers a lot of advantages beyond the lack of expense.

Here in the UK various types of therapy rooms are used by professionals as hosting spaces. These can be very successful, although it does sometimes take a little effort to make them comfortable.

In my case, my home is shared with somebody who supports cuddling, and if my neighbours (who, to be fair, are all nice) want to be unpleasant to themselves about the comings and goings of my guests then that's their affair.

I have encountered one serious case of obsession in the cuddling world, in which the professional concerned asked for my help. Fortunately, we were able to resolve the situation without the need to involve any outside agency, although that option would have been legitimate and was discussed in detail.

The risk of over-attachment and obsession in cuddling is a significant concern, and is not always sufficiently understood.

  • I agree that a hotel feels safer. Especially for a first time cuddle 👍

  • Safer for both sides tbh. I've had a few cuddlers request we meet in the lobby first. Great way to get first intro, break the ice in a public setting.

  • I have cuddled in many hotels and I feel very safe. Walls are probably thin if you need to get help, but I’ve never ever had a negative experience in one. I know some cuddlers have checked in at the front desk for Security.? I’m not sure of the details on that.
OTOH I do not feel comfortable going to and having a session in someone’s home for a first time session. I have only a couple of times and it was fine but overall I don’t feel safe going into a strangers home, I have no idea what I’m walking into.

  • The hotel has cameras on all floors and parking lots. Plus they have the ID logged into the system

  • @BrionC
Exactly! My apartment building also has security cameras on every floor, all along the hallways. I always point this out in a lighthearted manner when walking to my apartment with a new Cuddler. This is why I prefer to host. I feel very safe!

    Hotels are my fav

  • I like company but am a pretty private person, so for me to invite somebody into my home I really have to like you . Otherwise I'm a Hilton boy .

  • I can certainly understand the security aspect of cuddling in a hotel, and if I could, I wouldn't be opposed to it. However, the cost is prohibitive, not only for the room itself, but also getting to and from the hotel itself, as I'd probably have to take a cab. Being blind, I would also have mobility concerns, as this would be an unfamiliar place. I also have a problem paying for a whole night that I'd probably only be using two hours of. as I say, I wouldn't mind trying it, but for now, it's just not practical. I'm saying this from a hosting point of view. Meeting someone at a hotel, if they met me at the main door, and if the cost were covered, would possibly work.

  • There is no single right answer.
Some people feel safer in their own home. One cuddler I saw had guns stashed all over her house that only she knew how to get to. And she had a roommate nearby who could help if needed. So in her case she preferred hosting at home.
But others might find it wiser to cuddle at a hotel so they don't know where you live and can't become stalkers.

  • " I also meant to say that I'm paranoid of bed buggs. I've had to get rid of them, and the experience was beyond dreadful. I'd have to run checks on that hotel to be as sure as possible that wasn't an issue.

nah. i can host and have all the privacy I need. I did cuddle at a hotel with a traveling cuddler once and it was just fine. It was funny when the cleaning crew barged in since it was close to her check out time. Obviously it is a good option for those who don't have a private space but a hotel is just an illusion for safety in general. At best it at least provides a neutral location which can be safer for first time meets in case your cuddle partner turns out to be a lemon so they don't know where you live. And yeah maybe a good option if someone is out in the middle of nowhere. But it's the person you need to worry about not the location. I always offer to meet the cuddler at their car and walk them out. I also encourage cuddlers to share my phone and address with a close friend as an additional measure of safety, comfort and trust. But yeah...adding a hotel to the cost of cuddling really makes this an expensive hobby. I'd rather add an extra hour or 2 to the cuddle session.

  • I appreciate and like hotel cuddles.

    Safety
I can host and the cuddle pro then know I am a registered guest with full information they can verify, hotel has cameras and there is hotel security. Allows for an extra layer of safety for everyone involved.
    Clean
And as a host, I will generally have an extra queen bed and non smoking room and great for someone with allergies like me.
    Public meetings
Allows for both parties to meet in public close by too for coffee or dessert / food.

    This is just me.

It is easier to say the least.

  • I’ve never rented a room specifically for cuddling but when I go out of town on the company dime, hotels cuddles are always fun.

  • I had originally intended to host, but my home is my sanctuary, and I don't want that compromised. I'm also very particular with smells (no fragrances, cigarette smoke, BO) & didn't want to chance any undesired lingering scents. I also do not trust going to a stranger's home, especially for first time clients. Hotels are a great compromise. Neutral and theoretically secure. If that's not an option for the person requesting a session, I am okay with encouraging them to seek sessions from other cuddlers. My sessions are well worth the cost, so I only meet people who are able to cocreate a safe & mutually beneficial space.

  • I find hotel sessions a lot easier and safer but I haven't had any issues being at a flat or London's Therapy rooms.
Though all of mine have been because I was in the area anyway, not booking a hotel just for cuddling.

Some people feel safer in their own home.

THIS^^^ is my reason for preferring to host at my home. I just know where I stand in the comfort of my own surroundings (if anything were to go wrong, so far nothing has gone wrong😊) plus hosting at home saves money versus paying for hotel/motel rooms.😊👍

so they don't know where you live and can't become stalkers.

THIS^^^ can also happen😬, however it's never happened to me.😌
Mainly because I reject a lot more cuddling offers then I accept, and I don't get a lot of responses to my polite "platonic cuddle intro/invite messages" either. Lol!😁 So as far as possible stalking happening (to me), so far so good...Nothing stalker-y going on over here folks!😁👍

  • I recently had my first cuddle and being it was the first time I would say it's the way we go.for me We live in opposite directions so allowed us to meet halfway. I felt comfortable. There's a sense of safety because there are others around. My home and family are protected just in the event that I meet someone disrespectful. I've dated the bad scenario so I take no chances with strangers that I choose to meet.

I honestly prefer cuddling at a hotel, I feel safer.

  • Honestly, I'd rather do a hotel. Yes, it does feel safer and if something goes wrong you can potentially run out the door screaming for help. There are normally cameras and if they book the hotel, there is a record of who booked it incase things really goes wrong...

At least for now, I don't host due to living arrangements and safety. Though, I have been a guest many times at people's homes.

However, safety is a bit of an illusion though because you can get hurt, restrained, assaulted, etc anywhere.
So do your due diligence, vet / screen the people you are meeting and cuddling. If needed, meet them in a public place first to chat and trust your gut instinct.

Stay safe all and happy cuddling.

There’s always plenty of room at the Hotel California

@lonelytauros but you can never leave
@southernsassy I cuddle with people in hotels. I live in a high business tourist area. Many times, the people I cuddle with are in on business or vacation. It makes me feel safe to cuddle at a hotel because they ID and have security cameras at most hotels. As a woman with young children at home I don't like to host. I am happy to go to other homes to cuddle though. Knowing where they live can give you a since of the person, they are plus most aren't going to trust you with their address and text it to you for others to see if they plan on committing a crime.

  • @hifigeorge I agree with you. I always like to read the reviews.
@southernsassy another idea is airbnbs. Those are sometimes cheaper than a hotel. I have done this before as well. There is some really nice and fun ones out there. Some have private hot tubs and who doesn't like to relax in a hot tub right.

  • @pty1999 is hot tubbing allowed since swimwear isn't allowed for a platonic cuddle?

  • Does anyone charge a hosting fee when hosting in a hotel? I would love some advice.
I just hosted for the 1st time and it went great! Any tips, ideas would be fantastic. 😌💙

Idk I feel like a hotel would bring more panic and anxiety 🤷🏾‍♀️

  • @somber 😂🥲 I screened my clients well before I booked anything, I spoke to them for weeks prior to anything. I felt comfortable and safe enough to have a session.

  • All of my sessions except for maybe five times have been at a hotel. The others were at the person’s place of residence. And that’s over 200 sessions with pros and enthusiasts.

  • @StressRemedy Usually I am a guest either at their home or their hotel room. Unless I am traveling to an area for other reasons, I don't normally have a hotel myself.

If someone asked me to book one, I would require them to cover the cost. 🤷‍♀️
