I don’t even know if this is the right term but it’s the first one that I can think of do you associate things in nature with various symbols or meanings like for example some people think if they see a butterfly they’re being visited by a loved one or if they see a crow or a raven that’s an omen of bad luck or worse. Reason, I thought I’d make this thread is I heard a crow today literally right outside of my window and I was like what is this and I turned around and I saw it and it cried like three times and it almost looked like it was looking at me and then it flew away.

    I do not, no. I would term that as superstition, I suppose. Not sure what else to call it, perhaps a form of spiritualism?

    Crows are amazing friends. If you consistently leave food and trinkets in a place where they can find them, they'll start bringing you gifts in return.

    In reality, that sort of "omen" symbolism always seemed to me like people trying to make sense of a world about which they possessed an insufficient amount of information to understand.

    There's a lot about our world we just don't know, plenty of things that can't be really explained through scientific means.
    I don't pretend to be an expert on this subject (: it just seems there's a lot of stuff about humans that scientists are at a loss about.

    Different animals have had different symbolic representation throughout different cultures going back to our beginnings. According to this chart the crow represents the keeper of sacred law. Not sure how this fits into your personal narrative, but it’s an interesting chart:

    @WestsideMarc thats an interesting chart. It’s also fascinating that the crow and raven have 2 different traits in that chart. Sometimes i see people’s screen names with an animal in it such as bear fox or owl so I’m wondering if they see a connection with those animals.
    @Minestrone101 the crow is intelligent if you would like to watch other videos with intelligent animals I recommend the octopus

    One only needs to look at Native American cultures to see all sorts of symbolism. Of course many tribes followed various forms of animalism as a spiritual practice.
