Payment Question

edited October 2017 in Pro Cuddling

This is a fairly insignificant. But is it better to pay professional cuddlers (my auto-correct tried to change that to fiddlers!) before or after the cuddle? I wish the money exchange could occur entirely separately from the cuddle, in a PayPal exchange. But I recognize that would be complicated.

The few times that I've seen a professional, I've always given them the money first. I've heard stories from friends about clients who tried talking their way out of or "forget" paying after the fact and, while that is not representative of every client, my guess is that getting the payment out of the way first is a good security blanket for both parties. I say that because it shows the professional that you're serious and won't stiff them. For the client, even though you may feel awkward giving them the money, at least it's out of the way early and you can move on to simply enjoying each other's company. As you mention, PayPal or some other separate method of payment would be complicated. Personally, I would not feel comfortable with a transaction of that nature. Whether it's agreed to complete said transaction before or after the fact, it leaves far too much wiggle room for a potentially disingenuous party on either side to not fulfill the agreement. Just my thoughts on the matter.

  • As per the client agreement you should pay at the beginning of the session for the total agreed upon amount. https://www.cuddlecomfort.com/media/contracts/CC_Client_Service_Agreement.pdf

Time added on during the session can be paid after the session is over but yeah if you schedule for a two hour session the total should be provided up front.

Regarding PayPal I would never accept it for a business transaction like this. It is sadly too easy for the payer to get the payment rescinded (PayPal almost always sides with the payer especially for a service that doesn’t provide a physical good.)

If you can’t provide cash a service like Google Wallet or Venmo are safer for both parties as they act like cash and at least with Google Wallet pretty much everyone has it.

  • Thanks to both of you. I think paying first is the best option. I'd prefer if the transaction could be done before the cuddle day, but completely understand the chances of abuse.

  • Could anyone possibly tell me how clients pay through cuddle comfort? I'm not sure what cuddle clients see on their end. Also, do we receive a notification of payment?

  • Nevermind, I found the answer :)

  • Can a person change what they charge an hour and if so how do you do it?

  • @LoganRiver you are not a professional cuddler so I'm not sure why you're asking that question. However, yes professionals can change what they charge as often as they like, and it's a simple task in the professional cuddlers' interface.

  • @CuddleDuncan he is a pro lol
