Age liars

  • To be clear , I was only joking when I said birthdays are gross . I like them. And cake . But I stand by my assessment about Yoo Hoo. Dirty ass mop water pretending to be a chocolate drink 🤢

  • And @Sheena123 is correct and makes a valid point , not sure why that's being ridiculed other than maybe some folks might have a personal bone to pick ? There are indeed folks on here with mommy fetishes and kinks. It's a real thing . Women on here do actually experience that as a thing . Doesn't mean that there aren't other reasons a woman might lie about their age on here , but that also doesn't mean that what she says doesn't actually happen .

    This gets back to man vs bear: men are so quick to resort whataboutism or straight up denialism when when's like @Sheena123 share their lives experiences. It's sad.

  • I was once on a site where most women put their age a lot older to keep from being searched by creeps. 🤷‍♀️ Like, I saw women whose age was 90+ and they definitely were not 90.

    My beards been white for close to five years now so I can't exactly get away with saying that I'm younger

    The words liar, lie, and lying in the thread title and original post contain a value judgment that undermines the likelihood that anything useful will come out of this thread.

    People who view age (and honesty) as a binary concept will likely pile on, condemning inaccurate self-reporters as duplicitous.

    Others, inclined to view these as concepts that might require nuance or context in order to be useful, will likely steer clear of this discussion.

  • I've always believed you should overshoot your age. That way, people say (in my instance", "You look great for 96!"

  • For me it doesn’t matter. I have noticed that some will post a picture that is several years old and that doesn’t bother me.
    I like to look at the person’s smile and there eyes, as the old saying your eyes are the window to your soul. I will read a person’s profile several times before reaching out to ask him or her about a cuddle.

  • @MonkeyNeedsAHug
    @SunsetSnuggles

    100% agree with both of you. My age in my profile is currently correct as is it all but a few days per year. However, I chose to not share my real date of birth with an online server in another country so for a few days each year, there is a “1 year” discrepancy between my actual age and what shows on my profile. If someone is OK cuddling a person who is 57 years and 51 weeks old but refuses to cuddle some 58 years and 0 weeks old, they have much bigger issues than I do 😂

    Am I guilty of “lying about my age”? I guess in a binary, absolutist world, yes I am. I am just as big of a liar as anyone who says “I will call you at 3:00 pm” but they don’t actually call until 3:01 pm.

  • What do you do when you encounter people who lie about their age on CC?

    I agree, this isn't supposed to be a dating site, it's supposed to be platonic. Lying about age here is no different than lying about height, body type, (relationship) status, profession or location/city. I'm not so ignorant, nor entitled, to believe full transparency is just given without friendship, even acquaintanceship, being established first.

    Do you feel/treat it differently when it is a woman vs a man who is lying?

    Nope, I giggle either way when it's obvious, (especially with filters.)

  • @starrynitecuds
    A good giggle cures many things

  • Encounter on forums, not bothered. I don't even think about it to be honest. I don't click many profiles a day, I don't often repeat click a person's profile in a short space of time and I would have over the months clicked enough that I won't remember.

    Encounter in person, I am already trying to gage the cuddler beforehand and there's a lot I look at. On age, a person could lie but if there are pictures available to view I will have a rough idea on where they are. If the age doesn't make any sense to me, I wouldn't reach out, though from what I see in my area they do look believable.

  • @natickben Isn't every opinion offered up here based on life experience, not just @ Sheena.

  • What @Sheena123 said makes sense. I don't understand why someone would criticize for that.

  • I personally don’t care unless it is truly egregious like by 10+years

  • [Deleted User]MaverickLegend (deleted user)

  • @natickben "lying" about age isn't just a number, how about the "liars" using filtered photos and 5-15 year old photos that accompany the profile? That's a red-hot topic here and heavily excused, too.

    @Sheena123

    Jesus… I was just giving a reason based off my own knowledge of people I knew personally…. I’m sorry I said anything….

    I feel this on a profound level. Basically where I end up mentally anytime I bother commenting on anything in the forums anymore, as instead of being heard and respected, for either my anecdotal evidence or thousands of hours of research and two degrees focused on social and behavioral sciences, I’m turned into a human piñata by the same ignorant but unjustifiably confident peanut gallery. God, I love the intersection of social psychology and the Internet. Really the apex of human development here.

  • @TheMidnightOwl yea the OP was saying give a reason so I gave ONE reason lol but apparently because of that comment, I’m saying profiles that have a pedo vibe to it are ok??? That’s like me talking about a blue car but because I didn’t mention all the other colors of cars, I’m a wretched, horrible person. Holy cow…. I’m constantly reminded that there are a lot of people that don’t like women with opinions…. Damn… and mine wasn’t even an opinion this time. True colors being shown with certain people here….

  • [Deleted User]WriterGF (deleted user)

    @Sheena123 That's the benefit of these forums. You don't have to search for red flags, people proudly wave them here.

  • What I find strange is when guys give their lived experiences or opinions, people will come in here bash them while defending women’s when they do the same.
    Which neither the man or women did anything wrong, it’s their lived experience, or an opinion. But some feel they have to jump in and shade their own side for strange reason. And it’s a pattern for some.
    Why can’t we all just state an opinion or an idea without having someone jump down our throats. Everyone can count to 3 look at another topic or site and then come back and see if they still want to trash and I hope not. It would be much nicer and not have another thread closed.

    @supadupa
    I hear your point . Regarding this thread, I feel that everyone has pretty much voiced their ideas without others attacking them for it though, with the exception of one person who was making personal digs and calling the person by name, and being intentionally rude and intentionally belittling . I made a post in reference to this . Otherwise it seems like opinions are being given with no real issue . I do however feel like both sides of the coin could stand to listen more and talk less on certain threads , so I will concede to that . We can disagree without being intentionally shitty (however , disagreement doesn't include egregious idiocy or bigotry so I will always call that out when I see it ).

  • @pmvines of course we can call out things that are actually ugly. We should always push back at objectionable words or opinions with good opinions or facts.

  • [Deleted User]MaverickLegend (deleted user)

    Salt-N-Pepa would agree we need to push it

  • @pmvines wise words my friend

  • Age is very important for me. Generally, the younger males inquiring , have messed me around , cancelled numerous times and suggested all sorts of fetishes. Most older men who have been honest about their age , have been respectful and good cuddlers. Obviously this is only my experience. 🤷

  • @SunsetSnuggles yeah anytime it's within a year it's about cyber security, which makes sense.

    Meh, I don't check people's ages once I meet with them to ensure they're the same age as they have on their profile. Plus, I have a terrible memory ....so I sometimes forget what exact age they listed anyways 😜 (thanks ADHD!)

    Maybe if I was trying to have a friendship or relationship with someone who lied about their age, it would definitely make me wonder and at least be a "pink flag" for me 🤔

    I do understand why, tho. Typically I've seen men (before anyone says it....no, not all men. But usually only men do this) list their "preferred" ages lower or right at than their own actual age, which is weird to me. So maybe that's one main reason women lower their ages so they can meet guys who are their actual ages too? 🤷‍♀️

    For my part, I just figure if someone does this (they are my age, but only search for younger)....it's not someone I want to know anyways, so I dodged a bullet 😜 Those guys are missing out on meeting a really cool person....so whatever 🤷‍♀️ ☺️

    I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know awesome people from all ages here!! 🤗

    And yes! @Sheena123 is right too! And @Sooson ....you gotta chill with the over-the-top attacks, my dude! 🤨

    I look at age as a guage of what I might have in common with someone.
    If someone posts their age as 54, and it's really 63, I may not have much to talk about.
    I have dated a person who had just turned 30, I was 20 years older. They loved my cooking , and my stocked bar. However not many other common interests.

  • [Deleted User]sofia82 (deleted user)

    Ah plus or minus a year is just not to be recognized/identified. But more is silly.
    I don’t care about the age of who I cuddle but ideally wanted over 35 just for the mental connection. I cuddled an emotionally mature 33 year old and it was fine though.
