🍩 Today is National Donut Day 🍩

Krispi Kreme is giving away one free donut to all visitors. But they used to do that whenever you walked into one of their stores. We're not advancing.

Dunkin' Donuts is giving away one free donut with purchase. So... it's not really free.

Haven't checked on the other places.

  • Celebrating with an apple fritter from my local bakery.

  • Yum! Skipping Starbucks and heading for Dunkin.
    Thanks for the heads up!

  • Toxic garbage to kill yoΓΉ

  • My co-worker didn’t realize that today was National donut day and she brought in donuts into work yesterday. I joked with her that she was a day early for national donut day lol

  • Happy Friday people.

  • @starrynitecuds Apple fritters are (usually) the best! When I lived in LA, there was a bakery in Studio City that made all kinds of fritters - apple (of course) but also blueberry, cherry, lemon/lime and even a mango one. They were awesome!

  • Why are donuts a popular breakfast item? It's just cake. Not a very healthy choice.

@Mike403 I'm an adult, eating cake, cookies and brownies for breakfast is allowed. When I die, I don't want my last meal to be a salad.
@Vocalist100 I'm very traditional, apple for me. My taste buds don't co-mingle cinnamon with them very well. πŸ€£πŸ˜‚

I had an interview this morning at a Dunkin' and the manager told me today is National Doughnut Day, which I had no idea. Its kind of a coincidence of all the days, I get hired at a Doughnut chain on this particular day. Unfortunately, the location is 29 miles away and costs me $4 in tolls just to avoid the traffic nightmare, so I'll probably leave it in a few months, who knows.

    But happy National Doughnut Day.

  • My way to celebrate while avoiding the carbs!

  • I had a Honey Dip donut today and yesterday in preparation of celebrating, I had a wild berry cheesecake donut after work 🌸🌸

  • Lol! Been busy cleaning today to even notice.😊
And now, I'm too lazy to even want to go to get a donut!πŸ˜„πŸ©

    It's just cake.

    @Mike403 Yeah, but it's GOOD CAKE!πŸ˜‹

    Not a very healthy choice

Mike, donuts already have a bad reputation as is...Stop adding to it!πŸ˜†πŸ€ͺ😝

    Here have a donut🍩and a smile!😁

  • After all the excitement and anticipation this day would bring, I ended up going with a glazed honey bun.

I'm so unworthy of being this thread's OP.

@TxTom Ahh, so you betrayed the donuts with a hon, hon, HONEY BUN!😳...How dare you, Tom?😌

I thought you were better then that, you have let The Donut Community down today!πŸ₯Ί

    @Katota
It wasn't even a glazed honey bun from an expensive specialty bakery. It was from 7-Eleven.

And it wasn't just one. I got three.
    They were $1 each.

I'm still a good person, right?

Edit: Just please don't banish me to the Bog of Eternal Stench.

  • @TxTom glazed honey bun πŸ‘€

  • @TxTom πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„

How about The Bog Eternal Honey Buns, instead?πŸ˜‹

    So true.

I didn't even know that there was a donut day until I was grocery shopping a couple days ago and they had fresh donuts for 25 cents each. Which was actually a really good deal considering that a dozen donuts can easily be $10-$15 nowadays (mind you, I mean the donuts at the grocery store - not at the premium shops, those are more expensive!)

  • I do not think I have enjoyed one donut in the 2000’s. However each year when the Girl Scout cooking start selling I always buy a few boxes each time I enter the grocery store. yummmmmm
