Who likes going to concerts? Who do you want to see? What were some of your best or worst concerts? I’m going to see Luke Combs at Sofi tomorrow. Pretty excited.
I just won a 4 pack of tickets to Imagine Dragons. My 11 year old is super excited. I love live music and like small venues the best.
I LOVE going to concerts! My lineup coming in the next couple months include Avery Sunshine, Charlie Wilson (bringing several other folks), Chris Brown, Usher, and a few more! Too many to name that I want to see. Best so far was Ludacris... he did all his classics and his energy was AMAZING! Worst was Musiq Soulchild... he couldn't catch his tune to save his life and the venue was awful. 2nd concert I ever walked out on.
Going to see Chevelle in august!
Coming up Chevelle, Cake, Manchester Orchestra, Gregory Alan Isakov. Couldn’t say a best. Worst was by far when I caught a trio of 90s bands (Tonic, Our Lady Peace, Collective Soul) doing a few summer shows who I enjoy dearly, but the sound was screwed up so bad the music was muffled and lyrics were unintelligible. I love catching bands at small clubs. Most stick around after the show for a couple drinks or don’t mind some pictures with fans or signing some autographs. I also love traveling just far enough out of town to make a day of it with the right company, catch an early dinner, show, maybe a drink later, a couple hours of sleep before a continental breakfast and a short drive home.
I used to love gigs, I've seen bands like Iron Maiden, Sabaton (2020 gig was my favourite ever), Alter Bridge etc. Given up now though as I'm worried about incrasing tinnitus. Unless bands do acoustic gigs I guess

Major concert goer over here and it parallels and pairs nicely with cuddling because although it’s cool to go to a show with a buddy I always prefer to go with a lady friend for sure. It combines my two most favorite things in the world, music and women. (Hey, just being honest).
Just saw Natalie Merchant here in LA, and upcoming are Third Eye Blind next Friday (don’t even have a concert companion for that one yet) and after that Stone Temple Pilots, Live, Ocean Blue, Train w/ REO Speedwagon, Van Morrison, David Gilmour of Pink Floyd, etc.
Unfortunately, hardly any venues do hard tickets anymore; everything is on the damn iphone. QR codes die a quick and meaningless death and have no soul, but the tactility of ticket stubs do, and will be my treasure for all my days to come…
@WestsideMarc inlove your stubb scrapbook, that’s awesome. I wish I had saved mine over the years. Someone told me that you can still get Stubbs if you go to the box office at the event. I have no idea if there’s any truth to that or not. Does anyone know?
Luke Combs was amazing last night. Played all his top hits. We sat side stage at SoFi. Part was through the set, we walked down and sat in some unoccupied seats on the front row of our section. It was a full house so I’m not sure where those people were. The opening acts were Hailey Whitters, Charles Wesley Godwin and The Avett Brothers. So much fun.
Whoops, I forgot my two nights of Springsteen!
@Morpheus I believe there is truth to that and thank you for reminding me! I have heard that that is available at some venues, but I am sure it is venue specific but I need to check it next time.

Me!!! I love music 🎼 and it speaks to many different levels of my soul. Perhaps sound therapy waves maybe 🤔 play into that.

Golden One in Sac is nice but way overpriced.
Greek in Berkeley and SoCal are more my speed.
Hot Tuna at The Crest was amazing.
Teddy Swims played ThunderValley and was beautiful. Tix , even last minute, were still astronomically priced.
Bottlerock Napa 24 was my last event festival and I worked and enjoyed it. Stevie Nicks was a must see IRL before her retirement. I actually cried. Remembering times in my life when my Mom and Aunties rocked out to her.
Most of those are bracelets instead of tix. Many other concerts are digital tix. Some BO print out stubs, it varies.
CITP was fun too. Country In The Park. Super affordable.
Stagecoach is pricey but almost worth it. I’m not a fan of the dust and scarce shade at these events when you are not on Tiered VIP level.
I have fallen in love with Laufey and would LOVE to see her and Frasier Banks.
There is a jazz festival in Napa too but it’s overpriced. I have seen MJB and Dave Chappelle there while I was working the event.
Many California wineries and bars/restaurants have local and high end talent dropping in and those are quite lovely. 🥰
Dogstar is high on my list but omg they sell out so fast.
Cruel World is working out kinks but a great show.
Jelly Roll, Santana, Hot Tuna, Lauren Daigle and more are on my see again list.
I’ve seen many sober/drunken Hollywood abc listers impromptu singing. I wish I could UNhear Jackie Chan. He’s so sweet but please 🙏 stop singing sir. 😂
Saw Blackpink last year with my wife. Will be seeing Iron Maiden in the fall. Springsteen is my hands down favorite concert. I've seen him well over 20 times.

Pixies are amazing
I have always been rather big. I don't fit into most live theatre seats. Plus i cant stand very long. So I don't go too many concerts. I went to some when I was younger. My godson wanted to see a group that plays folk music in sea shanties. He is not comfortable driving in the city and has never been to a live event so I promised I will go with him. I had a good time. I luckily found out they had a handicap section. I was able to sit in a standalone seat very small seating. ZZ Top and Phil Collin's were my 2 favorites.
@Bear I feel you, I’m pretty big myself. When my wife and I sat down last night ar the concert, my wife was on my right and no one was in my left. A younger female ended up sitting next to me on my left. My wife laughed and said I was happy that a pretty younger female sat next to me. I was like no, I was just happy it wasn’t another big dude like me lol

I will be accompanying a cc friend to Rob Zombie , Alice Cooper and Ministry and Filter in September. All past their prime but should be a fun time ! I've grown up going to punk and metal shows, and have been in a couple bands myself . I've had opportunities to see AFI and Mighty Mighty Bosstones play at my friend's old record store for five bucks before they were famous, and in high school my band opened for Morbid Angel, Pestilence and Bolt Thrower. Fun times
@SunshineHug you and I are in the same city but run in different musical circles. Do you ever get to Free Friday concerts in the park (Ceasar Chavez)? Do you ever go to that big festival up in Grass Valley (3 days with camping)? I work alot and so miss alot but there is a really good music scene here. We are super fortunate!
@pmvines Wow that's cool. Did you play an instrument or sing or both? I lived in Boston all through the 90's and have seen the MMB more times than I can count. FNX used to shut down Landsdown street and have live music in every bar and an outdoor stage for headliners right beside Fenway. Saw Letters to Cleo and the Bostones on the same stage. Have you ever heard of Black 47? Big Catholic Guilt? Dinosaur Jr? Same time frame but maybe not hard enough for you.

Gigs are great ! I’m lucky to live somewhere with an amazing live music scene but I still don’t get to go to as many shows as I’d like.
I went to the Hella Mega tour featuring Weezer, Green Day & Fall out Boy a few years back in London and that was really cool 🤘
Loved going to concerts back in the day. I'm hitting the music scene more on the local level now. Much prefer supporting bars, restaurants and festivals/fairs who bring in lesser known talent. I have a few friends who are in bands, and I love hitting their gigs with a group of fun friends who want to get their dance on.

Wow that’s a blast from the past
My first big concert was Metallica with Faith No More in 1990. Faith No More was booed the entire set but they are to this day in my opinion, one of the most brilliant bands with one of the most amazing singers ever, Mike Patton.
I also saw Ray Charles at the Greek theater shortly before he passed. Even at an older age, his musicianship was off the charts.
I almost forgot that I saw Green Day when I was 14 at a house party before they had a full length record out and nobody knew who the hell they were.
