Poem

Beneath the desert's kiss, pyramids rise,
Echoes of ancient whispers, love's surprise.
In Africa's embrace, passion unfolds,
A tale of desire, as the story molds.

An African goddess, adorned in grace,
Her eyes, constellations in a sultry space.
Silken skin, kissed by the sun's devotion,
In the pyramid's shadow, a love potion.

Lost in the labyrinth of ancient desire,
Exploring passion, fueled by sacred fire.
As the Nile whispers secrets untold,
Love unfolds, a treasure to be bold.

Wet like the ocean, her essence divine,
A dance of waves in the moonlit shine.
Desert sands yield to a sea of emotion,
An erotic symphony, a love potion.

In Africa's heart, where legends entwine,
Pyramids witness a love so fine.
Goddess of the land, a fiery devotion,
A love story etched in timeless motion.

Since we're sharing, I've got a cheeky one that I wrote a while back. Yeah, it involved a cheater.

How does it feel to be second best?
He still thinks of me a lot
Searching for another me in his quest
You aren’t exactly what he sought.

He just settled for an easy catch
Its easy cuz you do the chasing
Compared to me? You’re no match
    Now there’s a dilemma he’s facing

    How does he explain it?
He just doesn’t feel love for you
You push so much and never quit
    You have absolutely no clue

In his heart, I’m still number one
    Its something you’ll never be
    I’m finished. I’m over him. I’m done.
Now he’s with you cuz he can’t have me.

  • @FriendlyFemale That would be a good song to share with another pro who stole a client from you.

😂😆 If you know any musicians that can put a tune to it, that'd be cool. I'm open to all genres, although bluegrass tickles my fancy most.

  • @PhoenixSmith I love it. Excellent imagery. (And scansion and rhymes, of course)

  • And now I feel compelled to share something. I wrote this a couple years ago when I was in the hospital.

    Autumn Leaves

In the spring, the rains come down
    And summer sun nourishes
The leaves in the wind are blown
    Green foliage flourishes

    Seasons change and colors come
    From green to gentle yellow
And a red that sings of home
Like a flame soft and mellow

    And the final color seen
    Brown that crunches underneath
    Memories of what has been
Year is ending like a wreath

What comes next of winter snow
Springtime melt turns dirt to mud
Sun and water, this is how
All the dead trees start to bud

  • I may be an artistic troll---but writing a poem to me exposes a little of ones inner self--and I see nothing but beauty--thank you for sharing!

  • My poem is entitled The Saga of Jens Haaning

  • Lovely poems all

  • @JessArt88 That's beautiful, in a sad sort of way. When I read it, I not only feel it, I remember it.

I was in New Orleans recently and there they have street poets with manual typewriters who will write you a poem for any topic ( they accept donations $) Here’s a few pics of what that looks like …

  • So I asked one of them to write a poem about my home state of Ohio ….

  • And when I figure out how to post that poem 😂 I will put it on here lol 😆

  • @OhioMike I think I'd like to use these guys rather than ChatGPT.

  • @TxTom these guys had a wicked sense of humor 😆

  • @OhioMike This has certainly opened the door for me to consider other pursuits! I enjoy writing, and I'm tired of working around HazMat.

Here's my Smith-Corona. I used it has a kid to write stories, and to fill out my first job application. It's just a handsome conversation piece now, I don't use it.

    But it does work.

  • This is lovely.

@OhioMike do they have a refund policy lol 😂

@OhioMike Thanks for sharing! I kept coming back looking for this specifically. :)

@lonelytauros It was a bit anti-climactic for me, too, but I was still glad to see it.

  • @lonelytauros 🤣 not exactly but you do a donation (or not I suppose) after they type your poem subject .

I did this a couple time with the different poets, Another subject was Platonic Cuddling. I did my best on a crowded New Orleans street to explain Cuddle Comfort but these guys had too much fun with it. I can't post it here unfortunately because of our forum TOS, but I have shared it with a few of my friends here.

  • @lonelytauros LOL why? because they forgot to mention Baker Mayfield?

  • Cool. I like the illustration. Is that specific to each poet?

@OhioMike did you pick the poet with the strawberry hat that’s who I would’ve chosen

  • edited June 2024

@TxTom @lonelytauros yes each poet has their own different paper style to type on. The poet with the mohawk did the Ohio one. The first pic of the guy next to the strawberry hat guy did the platonic cuddle one but his last couple stances went off the rail lol !

  • @Unscented_Lemon appreciate the time you took to read.

It seems most of my poems come from either the wierds, the sads, or the loves lol

  • I know I’m not a poet, but I can make things rhyme most of the time. lol

  • @waynewv Some people are poets but they just don't knoet.

  • @JessArt88

    Ominous thoughts begin to mosh

What a fun and descriptive imagery. And the further along in the poem I am, the more I understand it.

My poems come from all sorts of places. Some from rage and pain. Some from hope. Some from looking at the world around me. And some from dreams, as this one was.

    A rainbow eye opens above
    The clearing in the woods
And closes again, with things to tell
    The vision has begun
Bright white moon and blood red moons
By one and two shall rise
    An omen that eludes you
Though your soul does shiver and cry
    Turn and see
    A shining comet, darkened blue
Rainbow tail as it falls, and now
    Turn and see
    A shining comet, darkened green
Rainbow tail as it falls, you see
His agonized face, decrying the fate
Your eyes cast for meaning which is not found
    But now turn and see
    A portal to Hell
    The hideous light
    The demon sound
His fists, pounding on the ground
    You do not understand
