There should be an option to block initial messages from Pros that you haven't reached out to. Like a "no soliciting" checkbox basically.
I put this at the top of my profile and haven’t had any pro’s message me since then:
(Pro cuddlers, please do not reach out to solicit business)
10-4 @CincyWestSdr I never have, nor ever had plans to, but I'm sorry you guys get those. I figure everyone is fully versed in the search function, so ppl who need me will find me. I would imagine these solicitation DMs are just as annoying as the phone calls I get about my car's extended warranty
Professionals are not permitted to solicit clients.
They are allowed to message a potential client who has shown an interest in them. This is interpreted to mean that if you have visited their profile, they may message you.
If a professional you've never heard of messages you, please Report them. They are breaking the terms of service to which they have agreed, and such messages can be surprisingly distressing for some vulerable people.
Anecdotally, such messages are largely ineffective.
Just because you looked at a profile does not mean you want to be spammed with sales messages. It should be able to be blocked
Seems pretty simple. If you click on a pro's profile, and you know you're not interested, just click the three dots and choose Block.
@Andrew_1
Do you think this is really needed?
Some people may be too shy to initially reach out and might enjoy Pros making first contact.
If you currently are or ever will be a business owner -you will reach out to potential clients.
Without Pros many male members would have no one to cuddle with.
I personally like Pros introducing themselves and getting to know them.
That's why I'm saying it should be a checkbox option. People that prefer it could leave it as is
I agree, @BrianOcean
This just doesn't bother me at all.
I can appreciate the point you're making and it does not make you a bad guy or anti-Pro Cuddler.
If I got a lot of spam like that I would be less happy. I don't but having the option would be nice.
I see this as similar to me wanting the option to hide videos on odysee that are those awful YouTube shorts. I can of course mute short channels one by one as I see them but being able to just mute them all in one click would be great.
@JasonCuddles exactly
That's a good idea, @Andrew_1 , except a pro might want to chat about something you post here. Are you adverse to that?
Those who are ok with Pros breaking the site's rule should just put their approval at the top of their profile. PROS FEEL FREE TO CONTACT ME
Those who don't want to be contacted, put at the top and bottom: NO SOLICITATION BY PROS
They usually block me after I decline a session with them
@CuddleDuncan
...messages can be surprisingly distressing for some vulerable people.
I'm absolutely fascinated by this comment, I find it unbelievable, yet I'm sure you're completely serious.
How is someone distressed just receiving an unsolicited message that they can choose to either open or ignore? And how does someone like this function autonomously in the world, or do they?
I agree, I am not particularly keen when a pro messages me to advertise their business. I prefer contacting them. However, someone in this comment section has made a great point about some people being shy and would prefer to be contacted first.
I agree with there needing to be 2 options to select and shown on each profile
I don't mind pros messaging me if they want to start a conversation. I don't think we could block solicitations without also blocking genuine conversations.
@Andrew_1 I agree with @WriterGF and @starrynitecuds if you don't want to be contacted by a Pro or Enthusiast cuddlers you have clicked on to look at. ☺️
There's also people out there that love looking at others images with no intention of ever connecting. Getting several "visits" from them, and not saying a word, does get a bit annoying. 🤦🏻♀️ My recommendation is to just not visit any Pro profiles at all, and if you do (and you know you're not interested) block them immediately. Simple!
Some of the best humans I've met on here are pros and some of them I would not have ever known existed without them messaging me. Doesn't matter if we ever meet and if we do it doesn't matter if we ever cuddle, but their friendship and comraderie is very much appreciated.
I'm with those who say it doesn't bother them. A few times pros were visiting my area and messaged me to let me know. I get email alerts when I get a message here. I don't come to this website often so without the alert I would not have known that they were in the area and would have missed out on a chance to meet them, and since there are few, if any, locals currently in my area whom I'm interested in seeing I'm glad the visitors reached out. Even if I didn't rely on email alerts and regardless of whether the cuddler reaching out was local or visiting it wouldn't have bothered me.
@TxTom
Not everyone can be a country music song writer. (I KEEEED I KEEEED. Lol you didn't mention their truck breaking down or their dog dying.) But seriously, maybe someone is having a low moment, feels alone and the only person who wants to talk with them wants to charge them $125 an hour? Now, compound it with being (financially) broke. And they're told, "let me know when you have the money to schedule." It would suck. Shoot, it IS a country music song! 🎵
I just wish there was a way to identify who’s a pro BEFORE clicking on their profile, so I know not to go there.
Instead of the option to block unsolicited pros, I would just report them and block them individually. It’s not that big of a deal to do that.
To me it’s the same thing with TV and radio or anything like that. Change the channel. That’s the power you have.
@Zionscalling Pro profiles have a pink "P" in the lower right corner of their photo. You can see it before clicking on a profile. Anyone who doesn't have that and is trying to charge you is breaking the rules and should be reported.
As a Pro we are allowed to contact our window shoppers.
Typically I reach out when I see repeated visits and no comms.
9/10 they do not respond and that’s ok.
We have to have a clear face pic of us as a pro, pink P is in the lower right corner.
Lots of enthusiasts do not have pictures, especially of their face. And that’s ok too.
It’s just like walking into a Mom n Pop shop several times and not making eye contact or saying a word but just looking 👀.
Any good shop owner/manager is going to say 👋 hello.
It’s always your right to look and browse without making a purchase.
Filter out your search. 🔍 and use your block feature.
Even when I visit Amazon it’s always giving me more suggestions but it does not offend me as I am a shopper and browser.
I’d never join Amazon Prime & then tell Prime to leave me alone, reconfigure as much setting wise as possible but as some suggestions have been just what the online doctor ordered.
Same with small shops, restaurants, flea market sellers as I value human interactions whether it is transactional or not. Being kind and respectful is free, always.
And I PUT myself there and expect human interaction to a degree.
This site is about human interactions; be it digital or IRL.
Maybe in the future there will be more settings to utilize.
Until then manage to use your settings features, list in bio about you not wanting a message from the shop owners and have a blessed day and hopefully a fantastic cuddle 🤗 whether it is free or a budgeted treat/luxury.
@SunshineHug beautifully stated!! 👌🏼💖
@SunshineHug But what about all of the vulnerable people you risk distressing ? With much hello comes much responsibility.
I'm a pro and occasionally I'll send a message because I think something in their profile is funny or interesting. Never soliciting, but I like people and expanding my social circle. I never considered that it might be bothersome. 😔
@pmvines
I think you're just hellophobic.
@feisty I have also sent those types of messages. Treat people how you wanna be treated right? I always appreciate when someone corrects a typo or if there is something on my profile needs clarification. Better yet when something I said made them chuckle (either in forums or on profile). I, too, never considered the fact it may bother others. Now it makes sense why I get ignored...
@feisty I doubt anyone would find it bothersome when it's obvious it's not a sales message. But those are 1/100 from pros
