Evil Spirits

Good day once again! My coon hound (harmony) has noted something evil lurking in tap water almost all her life! Every time I put a water bowel down she immediately barks at the bowl and attacks it---she stares intently at the water as though something evil is in the water and staring back. It doesn't matter the size of the container--bottles water or municipal--the same evil Spirits lurk --thank God for clean toilet bowl water (although she barks and attacks it as well--she just can't knock it over) . I know I am fairly dense--but do evil spirits lurk in drinking water? Are some CC members essentially evil spirits? Do evil spirits lurk in your life? Does my dog need mental help--maybe a new owner?

    I’d be more concerned your dog smells something contaminating that water or had some sort of traumatic experience involving water. How that relates to people on the site being evil spirits…I don’t understand that link at all. There are def dangerous people but they are not of a supernatural origin as far as I know.

    Edit: As for the supernatural in the religious sense, please, fellow cuddlers, don’t go there or your comment will get flagged/edited.

    No evil spirits in my life but there are numerous pop culture references to “darkness” permeating people’s lives, many of which are intentionally vague so people can fill in the blanks with their own beliefs.

    My best guess is @CharlieBear is right about your dog possibly having had some traumatic experience that is manifesting in that behavior around water.

    I had him since a puppy----can't imagine what that experience might have been---standing by something evil lurking in the water that she has uncovered

    Regarding your dog, I’d consult a vet then. As for fellow members, I’d utilize the report button if there is legitimate concern.

    Many years ago, my daughter volunteered for an animal shelter and talked me into adopting a puppy that was found on the streets and turned in to them. The pup was very young and the assumption was that she had wondered away or somehow been separated from her mother and the rest of the litter. After a few days and nobody showing up to claim her, we adopted her.

    She was friendly and playful in the animal shelter but absolutely freaked out as we approached our car for the ride home. She also panicked more than any dog I have ever seen during a thunderstorm.

    Our best guess is she was separated from her mother near a road during a bad storm and those negative associations were so deeply impressed on her that they stuck with her for over a decade.

    John---thank you--for the rest--I can assure you the dog gets plenty of water to drink and is well taken care of---for those that have witnessed her antics with water--they just laugh--not telling what goes through her mind as the dog is just a big nut deeply attached to me that does a lot of crazy things--i've served as a volunteer for many dog rescue groups including one in PA called Habitat for Hounds where we built dog house for dogs left out in the Winter with no warm place to live and stuffed them with Hay. I have a dry sense of humor--I thought most could read past the text in the posting to get the real point of the posting --essentially have people had unexplained strange events occur in their life that may have been a little on the evil side---sometimes I wish people wouldn't "jump out of the box" to reach a conclusion without taking into the context of the full posting---seen this on a number of occasions with responses to authors of other posting where the original intent is lost

    soothinghugs--I appreciate your feed back--truthful I think she does what she does because it entertains her--her tail wags the entire time and she is generally a very happy dog--no major issues of concern--if I could retract the post I wold--its original intent was totally lost

    What was the original intent of your post?
    I'm lost as to, "Are some CC members essentially evil spirits?" Maybe that's why you're not getting the response you seek? I often remind myself when nobody else gets my joke, it's most likely because I didn't convey it right.

    Pretty sure that like a lot of dogs , he just likes to play in his water and like a lot of dogs is barking at his reflection in the water. No need for a canine exorcism

    @dennis22554 hey we have a professional cuddler (currently deactivated) here who is also an author who wrote a book about spirits , ghosts etc I forwarded this thread to her . Maybe she will give us some more insight 🤔

    go ahead and join in-------to the general point --no one essentially knows me so my sense of humor may be off for the group----to simplify my original intent----people view my dogs antics towards water as funny as --they almost think she is trying to talk someone -that may present a danger to the audience on hand--it just make me think has anyone else ever noted super natural presence--maybe in a bowl of fruit loops--my favorite food--should be no surprise! And as to the presence of evil people within the CC environment--well if they did not exist--there would be no need to ban anybody. PMVINES--my cardinal sin is that I post from the top of my head--given that I thought this was an informal forum. I was thinking her water behavior this morning --I'm certainly not going to stop a behavior she enjoys--it just made me wonder if other people have had similar or different experiences. For now--I'll go back to my corner but pretty much plan to continue posting crazy stories in the near future--until banned I suppose!

    I was thinking op might want to know he could request a lock, that's all. I didn't know if just deleting his post would give the result he desired. Certainly wasn't trying to be a pot-stirrer. I wanted to make sure he knew all his options.

    One of my cats has a big obsession with his water bowl. I had to get a big heavy one for dogs and he still charges at it, wraps his paws around it and shakes his head (I may have heard him say "demon be gone!"). Mostly he just tried to make the water move then drinks it with his paw. Or he just wants me to yell "Heffer!" Aka...El Jefe. Aka Jefe Lump. :)

    AimeeJ--maybe your cat and my dog should hold a seance--you are confirming my thoughts that they are "on to something." Holly----if I wore highheels---I might try that as a solution to my dogs issues--great idea!

    (My soapbox comment)This thread was inspired by the geriatric debate of the next leaders of this 'great' country.
    Its a fallacy in philosophy and the MAIN reason, a perfect example and good reason the art of discourse is in danger for a majority of individuals.
    (Facts)At the very least its a red herring argument that is normal amongst those who are privileged to try and dictate the thinking of people with (free will but lost in the crowd.)(opinion)

    (My dumb fallacy)I live by the mountains. When I go to the mountains I climb on rocks. Mountain rocks are pointy and sharp. I almost always step on a pointy sharp rock.
    Do some members on CC have pointy sharp spines when they cuddle?
