Taking things seriously is permanently out of style, I think. It's one reason I keep my profile muted and don't really think about cuddling anymore. Too many people think it is just a lark and you don't even have to be sure you want to cuddle when you set a time and date. Just a strange way to live.
If the pro accepts Paypal, then I'd do the deposit that way. Paypal does charge a fee, so I'm not sure how many pros accept it. As a client, Paypal does let you dispute for non receipt of goods/services, and the burden lies on the "seller" to produce proof. I've sold and bought on Ebay (who accepts Paypal) and have successfully gotten refunds from disputed items. I've also had disputes against my sold items that were lost in the mail, which the customer was refunded for.
I have always been apposed to asking for a deposit. In the past few months I have had sooo many no shows, or late cancels, that i can definitely understand why people would. I know in groups i'm in it is suggested a lot
@g_w_t_w Thank you for the clarification. I still think under the circumstances that a request for a $25 deposit was extremely reasonable.
Since I normally travel to a cuddle (I have only hosted 1 cuddle partner a couple of times) I am not inclined to pay deposits but I understand why some pros ask for them and that is something the pro and client can work out between themselves (or not).
I know it is one of the most repeated topics that keeps spawning threads, along with cuddling m*****d p****e, s**e g****r cuddling, and a couple other hot button topics.
@JohnR1972 i wish i could figure out what those words are
Moped Petite Site Gear
Translation: on this site, it’s not good to talk about petite gears on a moped
Ok, now I'm really confused. What would those words get censored
@BashfulLoner I self censored “cuddling married people” and “same gender cuddling” because those two topics, along with “pro rates”, and “ID verification” come up way too often and tend to derail any thread in which they are mentioned.
I had never considered asking for a deposit (and I still won't ask for one), but after reading this thread it makes sense that in some situations a deposit sounds reasonable, and in other situations it does not at all.
I guess just do what feels right to you. If it feels like a scam, then pass. If it seems legit, then go for it. Just ask yourself if it sounds reasonable for your request to require a deposit. And any reasonable person would be able to justify asking for a deposit, so ask for their reason. If you don't like their answer, then pass.
Oh now it makes perfect sense. And yes those subjects cause way too much discussion. I always wonder why people get so upset about what others think about things that have nothing to do with them. I mean a lot of things aren't for me so i don't participate. It doesn't bother me too much that others do. I don't know why any one would care why i don't. Here's a great example: i actually don't eat meat- beef, pork, chicken or turkey. It's been a while but some of the conversation about why I don't eat meat make so many people upset. I mean i don't make you eat what i eat. I don't care to explain or debate my reasons. But it's always a conversation and usually people resort to using words that show they feel personally attacked by what i eat and don't eat. It baffles me. I don't ride skate boards or use pogo sticks either...... but most people could give a flying f*** about that. I recently bought an electric car ( yes i live deep in UAW ICE car region) but people feel the need to tell me how stupid i am and how they never will b and electric car.i simply smile and say never try one out lol if you feel that way cause id hate for all your beliefs to be destroyed.
I am just returning to this site, in the process of getting approved to be a pro again. I can say last time I started asking for deposits, not because I was worried they’d flake on me, but because I had many issues with cuddlers trying to cross my boundaries to the point I would often end the session early and leave/remove them for my own well being. When this happened the cuddler would obviously not pay. I would always make a report and always received help and condolences from the site managers. But I had at least 3 or 4 meetings I never got paid or reviews because I had to end the session early due to their poor behavior. I ended up leaving the site due to an incident with a cuddler.
I understand there are many scammers out there on both ends and I understand the amount of hesitation on both ends. I’m just saying try to keep an open, yet cautious mind.
@Cuddle_Bugggg I thought pros were supposed to collect their money before the session started?
Pros should collect payment before the session starts. It’s best to confirm that during vetting & at the same time as discussing boundaries and CC TOS, before meeting in person. It’s really important to go over all of this, including payment. When I first started cuddling, I had a few clients who basically ignored me when I said that it needed to be paid upfront. I’m not pushy and so I would let it go, but I could never relax during the session because I thought - why is he acting like this? Does he not trust me? Has he not read my karma? Has he not paid attention to how I’ve acted to him? Definitely collect upfront and be more firm about it than I was. I had only one bad incident so I was lucky that that was the only time it happened. Someone left without paying. Near the end of the session, he asked to use the bathroom and then walked right out the door. There were things he said during screening that I should’ve caught onto, but I was too clueless. He said he was a follower of Andrew Tate. I didn’t know who that was. OMG if I’d known I would NEVER have booked with him. Lesson learned.
Pro should not collect a payment until a week after the session. This will allow time for the client to reflect and confirm the session was nurturing and healing and beneficial to them. At that point a payment can be arranged.
@Sooson 🙄😆
Yeah @Sooson because it’s all just a funny joke. I definitely couldn’t stop laughing when I was scammed!
Interesting thread, and a lot of good points.
I think cuddlers should do what works for them, and seek out similarly-minded people because for the most part this is one of those things where people's minds are usually set. Plus I wouldn't feel right trying to change anyone's mind about things like deposits. I don't like pressuring people in general or being pressured, and even less so about money. It is important everyone feels comfortable and safe.
As for me, I often do ask for a deposit, especially if I am driving an hour each way to cuddle, which is usually the case, or if I am hosting at a hotel, which I am currently doing every couple of months. In this case I see the deposit as an expression of mutual trust where I am putting forth my time, effort, and gas and in return my potential cuddle partner is providing a token of good faith that they will show up.
If someone doesn't want to do deposits, that is fine. No problem! I encourage them to find someone whose thinking aligns more with their own, but feel free to contact me again if they change their mind. 🙂
Deposit - not an issue. I judge it on a case by case basis and on what is an acceptable loss if it doesn't work. Percentage can come into play but it'd tend to be the value amount.
I once paid a deposit months ago (a large one, too.) and I was scammed. I will never do a deposit again with someone who has no reputation or reviews. I still think about that money to this day and I wish I had a chance to spend it on something like food or whatever.
@Miles31 Did you report the pro?
I've wondered about this myself, of course I just skip the profile and move on. I live in an area with a lot of scammers, seems every month there is a new headline about scammers. Also I have more to lose, since any possible cuddler would require me traveling a good distance. Which is why I'd prefer to host, plus I usually tip as well, sooo I think it works for both. But eh to each their own, if you feel the need to demand a deposit, more power to you
@g_w_t_w
Someone left without paying. Near the end of the session, he asked to use the bathroom and then walked right out the door.
These are the same "entitled" losers who smash and grab stores, which can financially cripple owners and their employees.
