Do you have an unfulfilled dream that you think about often!

From a career perspective, I suppose my life has been very successful --so I am told--but being a simple minded person I fill some what empty because my true life dream will most likely never be fulfilled! All my life, I have dreamed about making or winning a lot money--not for me--for my dream. The dream involves buying a lot land out west somewhere and building a sanctuary for homeless animals--all kinds---dog, cows, rabbits, goats, especially ones in shelters. I'd even invite a few old people (last part was a joke --I keep forgetting humor is not allowed--my apologies). I only the mention the dream on CC because I can see recruiting some members--and his community is somewhat a sanctuary for me! Now that we are past all the optional reading--the real question is that you have an unfulfilled dream that bothers you that you would like to share?

  • Ooh, this reminds me of my similar thread from back in the day!

    Share Your Goals & Dreams

I was going to post about how those turned out, here, but it may be more appropriate to post them on the other thread, since mine were a bit more goal-oriented. 😊

As for massive dreams, @dennis22554, I actually share the exact same one as you. To open a sanctuary for unreleasable wildlife, exotic pets, and domestic animals, where they can have a safe home, forever. 🦅 🦓 🐇

  • Right now the only unfulfilled dreams I think about often are dreams I'm in the process of fulfilling. I don't know if that counts, but I do have a few things to be excited about.

Oh, and the dream of winning big in the lottery and being able to take care of my friends and give a ton of money to the college I went to and work at. But I wouldn't call that a dream so much as unrealistic wishful thinking. :)

  • I would love to be in a indoor soccer field with about 15-20 playful dogs and a bunch of Frisbees and other toys. That would be so fun.

  • Being able to retire while I can still enjoy it.

  • @m2567 Your local animal shelter may be able to help you with that. Or failing that, a post on something that's the equivalent of a local paper (yes, I'm old).

A Saturday morning at a dog park with lots of shade trees should nearly do the trick!

  • Hm. I don't know. I suppose I don't have a grandiose, ambitious dream.
Mine would be pretty simple; just a family. A wife, some dogs, some kids. Maybe working closely with physics, or healthcare

  • I have a book I’ve been working on for years. I guess I can say it’s my dream to finish it. But it’s been a bit difficult for me to get through. But somehow i believe in it and when it’s finished how amazing it has potential to be. Times I’ve wanted to just burn it and forget about it, but I’m fighting myself to finish it.

I've wanted to walk across America from LA to New York then DC helping people, praying and weeping with people, journaling their stories, and sharing the love of Christ while warning proud Christians and the arrogant. Then see where else I can go across the globe. I've wanted to do this since I was twelve.

  • My upcoming trip to California is a dream I've had since I was a kiddo! I've never taken a full week's vacation, much less solo.
I had a sister who was an actress in LA, years ago. My sister brought most of the family out to Cali to see the set where she worked and meet some of her cast members. As the youngest in the family, I was a teenager at the time. It was decided that I was too young to make the trip, and ever since...I've been California Dreamin.
That sister passed away a few years ago, but in two weeks I am making that trip. The best part is that my CC friends have become a big part of making this California visit special. I got a ton of great advice on the forums about the state and where to visit. Open hearts and open arms to have a few cuddle visitors as I travel. I couldn't feel more blessed by that. 😇🤗✨💖

I have always wanted to become 5 dimensional. Still haven’t figured out how to do it (yet). 😂

On a more serious note, I recently accepted a consulting gig that feels like an inflection point in my life. I have done numerous consulting projects that helped improve a company’s bottom line or fix a quality problem, or resolve a long standing problem at a government agency.

The new project I recently started is focused on protecting wildlife. As I dig deeper into the background on this project and conduct a best practices study of other states, I see this project as a “reconciliation with nature” project and that is bringing me more joy in my consulting work than any other project I have done before.

  • I have one that may yet be fulfilled, and that is to get a book of limericks published. I know what's holding it up, and I'm working on removing that obstacle, so I'm hopeful.

  • @JoyfulHeart I have completely confidence that you'll publish your book, even though I don't know how it will look. I can already tell it's gonna be swell, and if not, at least it's a chance that you took.

My life is pretty good and when I first read this thread a few days ago, nothing came to mind. I've been fortunate for the most part.

Tonight I was at a small wrestling show and I was reminded of something I wanted and never achieved ...

I wanted to hold one of the belts for the NWA Women's Tag Champions, but I never made it. Following in the footsteps of two of my wrestling inspirations--Lelani Kai and Judy Martin would have meant a lot to me. The closest I came was the NWA New England Women's title and I didn't hold it for very long.

Having fun tonight at an indy show in Santa Clara, CA. 🙃
