Gar's Brainstorm - Cuddle Barn Cuddlespots

Like a Starbucks with designer coffee, special names and prices, except an added feature, a cool movie and desIgner cuddling!

Ya check in with the cuddle host. Cause ENTER THE DRAGON is playing in the big cuddle room, or ya may want an upgrade in one of the screen rooms. Or walk around and take notes.

Dining alone no problem. There's a pro list on tap

There's a menu with a small charcuterie list.

Everybody's happy cause nobody's mad. (very important)

Everybody is vetted weeks before... ubers all around

Not sure a place like this would stay in business, given that cuddling is still a niche.

  • [Deleted User]MaverickLegend (deleted user)

Would I be able to order a pro like a pizza? 🍕🫣

  • edited July 2024

Yea that's a tough one. @WriterGF the niche thing..forgot about that..I think what will boost traction would be the coffee main focus, cuddling second. Also a mall location to start. (A mall booth)

    Cuddle Barn, Coffee and Cuddles

You would sell cuddle barn brand coffee (find a reseller) ..get your list, market to cuddle sites, a few Tshirts

    Ugh I hate that idea

  • Personally, I love it, Pros on the menu? Well, if it’s consensual & they choose to be available, personal choice.
Actually, it sounds like a pretty safe concept for the Pro because there’s probably going be security there. You see the Cuddler in person, Safety in numbers.
Pre-approved attire. I don’t know about the dragon concept, but otherwise I really like it, I would do it. Let me know when you open for business.

  • Update

    Mall location(get a backer)

CUDDLE BARN COFFEE and a movie
Reseller, high priced coffee and snacks but a finerthings atmosphere..

Room space rented by patrons..but visible to the public (grows the audience)

    Vetted members card

Organized movie showings (make a deal with media)

Cuddling Classes? (May be a side gig for those that want to learn) belt rankings ?

  • [Deleted User]MaverickLegend (deleted user)

Would there be a VIP room?

  • @lonelytauros VIP?
I think so..it would add to the mystery..like dangley velvet rope that separates the lines

  • edited July 2024

    @g_w_t_w

Haha the Dragon was the movie option (a Bruce Lee Film from the 70s, could be any movie as an option viewers choice)

Yes I could get behind something like this...the core product would be coffee IMO then rented spaces (would pay for spot) ..and security..some kinda Maitre D' to organize flow

VIP gets same day cuddle folks

Vetted in a few days to produce member cards,

People who charge could pool to use the space..public may see an adjustment in price .. but the tradeoff would be clarity and return

Classes for the public also grows brand (some kinda spokes person)

Coffee for marketing to grow brand...and get a good product...always pays off

    Aaaannndd it's gotta look nice
-but is this cuddle comforts business model? Don't want step on toes or cut in line

  • Sounds like an old-time brothel, but with cuddling. Not that it's a bad idea. I think it's good to have a space where you can talk with and even cuddle with people who have needs similar to your own. But some people may make that connection.

And not to get nitpicky, but you'll also need a license to sell food or drink. Health codes and inspections. And you mention needing to license movies to show them. And various other business stuff.

Call me a pessimist, but if you put it in a mall, I suspect there's a lot of Concerned Mothers seeking to get rid of this Den Of Iniquity so their kids don't have to see it.

  • Just some thoughts...

@GuitarGar posted: "Room space rented by patrons..but visible to the public"

Many people feel uncomfortable cuddling in a public place where such behavior might go unnoticed, such as on a blanket in a busy park... So getting people to pay to cuddle on display in a fish bowl would likely be very difficult. 👁👁

    "a mall location to start."

I can't say I frequent malls anymore...but aren't they mostly a teenager thing? Cuddlers on this site have to be 18 or over.

    @IronLemon
Valid points..cuddling has to go through the growing pains that fitness, yoga, etc. did. It has to be seen as a social event in the public eye.

We know theres nothing wrong with some cuddles. The image of it has to be seen as an option to spa

And you do business things. You pay the state. You pay your fees, you sign your contracts.

The biggest issue like you said is the optics. A big transparent cuddle menu may help.

    I'll take the #3

  • @SunsetSnuggles
More good points. Malls are for everyone..but if I was a teenager I would be so into wanting ta get a hug. That may be an issue.

Being a class act with coffee on the forefront may reduce problems but like you said ya want a good cuddle...maybe clear rooms and blankets works for the public cuddlers. It shows everyone that it's a good thing.

    Private may be VIP.

We watch MMA by the roomful. But a cuddle is harmful in the publics eye?

So it's a category..we want to create a new category..and if intentions are pure the public may accept...(who am I kidding)

  • And you may start with a coffee and hugs booth in the mall...not a cuddle booth..

There's something about laying down and being vulnerable. It's the last frontier.

There would be a lot of tears in that coffee and hug booth. That would actually be a service.

CUDDLE BARN COFFEE..by a sack get a hug.

  • [Deleted User]MaverickLegend (deleted user)

What about buy a sack…smack it back

  • @lonelytauros
What the hec does that even mean lol

  • I like these ideas. I always wanted to open a coffee shop, even though there are zillions. But I would change things up a little bit by adding those cuddling ideas.
I suppose there would have to be an age minimum, right? That involves taking ID.

I might expand the menu From a typical coffee shop. Maybe have a coffee bar, seats along a bar with a coffee bartender. I’m sure this exists. I just haven’t seen it around me.
There would be a couple of hosts/hostesses who kept an eye on everything, Made people comfortable while subtly monitering behavior.
Artists could show their work on the walls, and sell. A lot of cuddlers are creative people from what I’ve seen here . I’ve owned a gallery/design studio, I would be happy to do all the design work, signage logos, etc. I have a long history with that.
The dragon theme might limit the type of customers. But if there were different movies available to play then I think that’s great. Personally I loved the dragons in GOT.

  • [Deleted User]MaverickLegend (deleted user)

@GuitarGar how about this instead get a hug with that mug

  • Must have: a 🍿popcorn🍿 machine! (I recommend one of those soda machines with 100+ flavors. Drink/popcorn combos on the menu.)

    Other menu options:
Verbal sparring about hot cuddle topics with other CC members, Redditors, etc. Provide a secure live-feed video chat. Face or avatar.
(This is where the soda and popcorn combo would work great!)
The virtual room would only be open with a person onsite.

    Logistics:
    24/7/365-366 hours
    24/7/365-366 Security
    Who collects the money?
How do you charge a fee?
How do you collect the Pro fee?
How do you determine who's a pro?

  • edited July 2024

    @g_w_t_w

There is no dragon theme lol.

There may be a pottery barn or starbucks type theme

    I like the artwork connection
Would definitely have monitors to watch things...host hostess

    @lonelytauros
I like hug and a mug
    (What you said)

    @starrynitecuds
    Popcorn machine would be dope
You could have trivial pursuit cuddle cards
I like the live in room chat

    Money hmmmmm...that's always a challenge..
30% goes to the state taxes (cause
30% back into the growth fund
20% marketing (Remember it's still growing and thats low..)
    20% expenses labor and such
If cc wants to slap their name on it..they know this business it would grow quickly

    There are risks:
    People not getting it
There is a great risk with this new active social contact and touch business. It may ruin what is going currently.

People getting it but are jealous
Dealing with a person or group of people that want to be part of it but don't want to do the work. May garter hostility.

People getting it but are scared
The world is fragile. Moms may understand cuddle benefits but there are creeps in the world. (Vetting with card and ID would help.

Classes may help the public understand value imposed for service. There's also an "it" component that nobody knows anything about.

All money IMO should go through the website, everybody is paid monthly. Tips would happen but money shouldn't be in the establishment.

Whoever wants to be a pro can do so. There would be a list of standards that must be adhered to. And at least one concent and safety class.

    Open mall hours
    Website 24-7
    Mall security

  • @g_w_t_w _
Someone with your experience could easily run this thing IMO

Also respecting artist and allowing that creative energy in a place like this would be cool

  • Fyi, no money goes through the website now, except the site collecting their 15%. You won't want CC slapping their name on it, as you couldn't verify membership. Restricting your business to another business' arbitrary membership would guarantee failure. Requiring a safety and/or consent class would legally put much more responsibility on you. Disclaimers aren't the release of liability that most believe, courts don't recognize vague or poorly written documents.
(I'm very much for this business idea, truly believe it could come to fruition if researched and implemented properly. I would definitely visit!)

Maybe a strip mall location? Big malls are dying out.

And I agree with Iron Lemon, you will get community pushback. There are people who automatically equate pro cuddling with sex work. I feel like the concept of platonic cuddling would need to be more widely known and accepted for this to work. I could see the first cuddling centers opening up under a healthcare umbrella before going fully commercial.

  • @WriterGF
The health care umbrella is probably the route. (Some considerations)

    Here comes the regulations.

    Testimonials needed

Some kinda prescription leverage, a certain percent will probably have to be monitored in some way.

Big PE would start coming down wanting their cut.

Everybody in those categories will have their hands out..

  • Who understands this and can articulate it in a way to change minds?

  • No garlic and onions in the food please! Some people's body's really hold on to those smells :)

  • edited July 2024

    There's another consideration I haven't seen mentioned:
Some localities will classify this as escorting (not the same as prostitution or sex work), and as such there would be a whole extra layer of red tape to navigate.

Liability insurance might be next to impossible. Individual cuddle pros can get it by classifying as varying forms of therapeutic services, but once you have a full business with employees and building to consider, most insurance companies will probably have problems. Cuddle party companies tend to edge around it by classifying as educational events and/or by renting event spaces where they don't have to cover their own liability. This wouldn't be possible with a brick-and-mortar location.

It's highly likely to viewed suspiciously by local law enforcement, even in liberal areas where cuddling is more well known. Plans would need to be in place for how to handle audit shut downs, raids, etc.

Would need legal representation that specializes in business AND civil law, or two separate lawyers/firms on call.

How would vetting be handled? Privacy vs safety? Liability waivers? Conflict resolution? Just some more essential things to consider.

And just FYI, getting permission to show films for profit is NOT easy, can be a lengthy process, and likely will result in an extremely limited library of options. Even showing films educationally in semi-public settings has a lot of red tape.

Don't forget you'll also need licensing for any music playing.

Not listing all this to say it can't be done, but rather for it to have any longevity there would be high start-up costs and investments of time and energy. As others have mentioned, it's still a very niche interest so it is unlikely to draw enough business to stay afloat.

Personally, I would recommend starting on a far smaller scale: hosting educational and advocacy events, networking with local businesses and government entities to smooth the way in the future, fundraising so that loans will not have to be relies upon (though this is also higher risk).

  • @cuddlefaery Great suggestions,
Finding a path to creating spaces for professionals to host a cuddle, may hinge on business liability as regulated by business categories. This business however, seems to have its own category. (Regulations for this niche don't exist here yet)

There would have to be a focus on everything that could go wrong and all of the safety nets required to proceed with some level of confidence and then moving ahead with one eye open.

So I think where we are headed is, the world may not be ready. Not in today's world.

  • Gar--I like your forward-thinking vision and wouldn't discourage the thought of-----it may be difficult concept to get started the first year or two--but with a good business plan--it's not an unrealistic dream. Ill leave the discussion there--I love out-of -the-box thinkers

  • Don't take it personally, Gar.

My "SuperPro" idea was also beaten, thrown in the trunk, driven out to the middle of nowhere, and left for dead.

The forums are the bucket of ice water dumped on our little flame of hopes and dreams.
