Life's Timeouts!

Life has a funny way of working----you may just be humming along then out of the blue---a life changing, eye wakening event occurs that serves as kind of a "life time-out." I look at it as a way to, "look in the mirror" and take a deep look at yourself. Having just recently experienced a time-out, I took a look at myself to determine what I truly am grateful for in life. And being of simple mind---I am simply grateful for waking up everyday with the freedom of movement---not being confined due to a physical/medical challenge. Taking the time out to determine what's important in life as a dedicated activity is something I plan to do much more frequently in the future. My question is what are you grateful as a CC member or in life in general?

I'm grateful that I can still do laps up and down my home's sixteen stairs!!! lol Some mornings, though...whew! hahaha!

Grateful that my children not only still love me, but still take steps to keep me in their lives! I'm grateful that I'm still somewhat sane, and that I live in America. I'm grateful that my friends' eyes still light up when they see me. I'm grateful that I survived childhood and have completely taken over the CEO position in this life I call mine!

I'm grateful to have found a dynamic equilibrium between my feminine and masculine, allowing me to BOTH nurture babies/ feed elders AND wield a pretty serious sword, if need be. I'm grateful that men still think I'm "cute" and women still come to me for wisdom. I'm grateful that Jung pointed us toward "The Collective" so that when we decide to drop our hateful divisions, we'll realize that we have power over much of the stuff that happens in Consensual Reality!

And I'm grateful for this site. I'm grateful that there are those, out here, who will CUDDLE ME simply because Life can get raggedy, sometimes, and a hug would really help! lol

    Thanks, @dennis22554 ~ for posting such a thought-provoking thread!! :)

Well I'm definitely going through a timeout right now, after a crazy couple of years I put myself into my work for a company that does not care about me or appreciate my efforts, I was happy to get my job an get as far as I have, but all this time off cause of my accident gave me time to evaluate things.
I'm always grateful for having a job, roof over my head, food in my belly, I've been on the other end it's not fun.
I'm grateful everyday I can wake up without pain, I'm grateful that I now have more knowledge to know that my journey with my company is over, I'm grateful for the time I've had to learn new skills, work towards starting my own business, although technically I already have several side hustles.
I am grateful for any chance I get to make someone smile, or improve a person's day. I'm also grateful for the time I was able to have with loved ones before they were taken too soon.
I'm also grateful for the people I have meant along the way in my journey through life.
I'm especially grateful for CC, I was in a tough spot, and this site and the people on it has helped me more than I can express, so thank you.
In closing I guess I'm just grateful to be alive right now. So I could keep going on an on, there is just too much wonderful things in the world.

  • Thank you, @dennis22554 , @Fematheist , @TeddyCuddle45 for sharing. I’m very new to CC and just a couple of years into an intermittent practice where I slow down, breathe deeply, let my heart feel all the things I’m grateful for right now. Thank you for giving me a reminder that there’s always time to stop for just a minute to feel grateful, then step back into the river of my life relaxed, re-energized, and happy. 🤗 - Sharon

@MarigoldBloom ~ You are more than welcome! :) And welcome to the site AND forum!! :)

Your intermittent practice of slowing down and breathing in gratitude sounds like it's come after a long, hard ride. Much respect to you that you kept going!

It seems, sometimes, that we allow this raggedy, fast-paced, distracting society to rob us of our Peace, of our ability to find joy and beauty in the present moment. I'm glad you've come to the place in Life where you understand that you should give yourself those precious moments...and I'm glad you joined here!!
