Are you perhaps suggesting to no longer segregate athletes by gender, but instead sort people into classes based on testosterone levels? I would actually support that, since it nullifies the objection that transphobes have against transgender women in sports. And it would just require that all athletes get regular blood tests. A small but reasonable price, in my opinion.

I love the Olympics. I love Paris. I do not love how the story of the boxers is the one that occupies so much space on this thread. Was there anything else noteworthy that happened during the Olympics? I heard there was a badminton proposal and I also saw something about Flavor Flav and women’s water polo. Is there anything else to lift up that is good and positive?

Me, I'll continue to believe medical experts over conspiracy theories. You do whatever helps you sleep at night.
I don't give a damn about Olympic boxing. The same with gymnastics and diving. Anytime there are judges it is open for corruption and favoritism. Swimming is the best summer Olympic sport followed by track and field. The marathon, the triathlon, and the finals of tennis, soccer, and golf also interest me. Other than that I don't have much interest in the other events. And I have less interest in any controversies and politics surrounding the Olympics. There is enough of that to follow every day of the year. The Olympics, and sports in general, are an escape from all that.

I like to think that and I think we have periods that is true, but it simply isn’t the reality. Politics have been entwined in sports for a long time. Think of Jesse Owens and the 1936 Olympics and the matter of race. The Mann Act being used against Jack Johnson the boxer because his wife was white. The 1968 Black Power fist raising on the medals stand. Colin Kapernick and being blackballed for kneeling during the National Anthem. The list is miles long.
Funcartel, I understand all that. I'm talking about my interest. I'm interested in watching it for entertainment. I follow politics closely. When I'm watching sports I'm not interested in the politics surrounding it. Look at this thread. It's almost all about the controversy and little about the actual events. No thanks.
@snugbuddy I get it. I just look at it a bit different. While I watch sports for the escape I also think sports is life…good and bad…because it’s played by humans and humans are more than athletes.
