Always slow to the game....I under stand body painting is a new thing.......do you have to go though a car wash to return to your former self? What would you paint yourself as? I would paint myself as a stick figure but what do I know
Seems to be a things youngsters do for tiktok to get attention, especially females.like going to a gym nude but completely painted for example, or you have those animal people that go and stand outside restaurants making a seen.
I do find some body painting s artistic ..factually several...a nude body paining seems a little over the top
Oh I no doubt that it can be done artistically, for example special effects, but like every good thing, there will always be people to ruin it, I remember years ago watching a show an there was a guy that created paintings using his you know what, and I'm not gonna lie the paintings were actually really good lol
Body painting, to my knowledge, is usually done by an artist, as opposed to oneself. This is an upper-body example of what I'm thinking of - it is usually done with covert bikinis or pasties, but sometimes nothing. 🫤
As far as how long it's been around, it's been an indigenous thing for ages, but as we know it, Google says it became popular in the 1960's.
There is a famous Pink Floyd poster, which I won't link here, showing an array of body painting - apparently the picture was taken 28 years ago, in 1996.
One of my favorite examples of body art is in Kanye West's music video for "Love Lockdown", which came out 16 years ago, in 2008. Two women are shown in neon body paint (over strapless bikinis), and I just love the colors and designs.
As for how to get it off, I imagine the paint is non-toxic and washable, but not sure...perhaps they spray them down with a hose in the yard like in Pulp Fiction. 😅 (Just saw it for the first time...I'm definitely behind the times...)
Now, as far as this TikTok business, and a "new thing"...let's just say I'm not hip with the kids, don't have TikTok, and Googled it... What came up was assuredly not body painting, more like...paint dipping... 🤪 And I would hope it is a solo activity, yes... 😂

I was waiting for your reply, I figured you'd have the juice on the professional side of body painting, sadly a lot of people do it for clout and views, kinda takes away from it an I don't like it.

Only thing new about it is what I was talking about those youngens using it for views clout, and attention. And try to pass it off as ohhh I'm being artistic.
I almost did it once. I am an artist and I thought it would be fun. Then I remembered how looooooooooong it takes me to finish anything, and didn't want to torture the human canvas (or put out a cruddy painting).

Several years back, at a science fiction convention, there was a woman who was wearing a fancy looking corset. You could tell that there wasn't something quite right with the corset, but it took a little while to realize it was painted on.
Beyond the extremely beautiful art of it …. Body painting can be a very cool sensory experience.

Over the years online I’ve seen some pretty spectacular cosplay body paint examples of superheroes.
