Never too late to do a Self--Assessment

If you were to do a self-assessment, what personal characteristic are you must proud of? What characteristic are you least proud of?

Would others that know you agree with your self-assessment?

Note: An occasional self-assessment is a great way to “refresh” in life and increases the odds on connecting with others on CC and in life!

    Love this topic!

What personal characteristic are you most proud of?

    How deeply I love. 💙💜💚

What characteristic are you least proud of?

My capacity for anger and bitterness. 🤬

Would others that know you agree with your self-assessment?

    With the first, yes.

With the second, because I mostly internalize my anger, or share it/show it to a select few people, most would probably not tap me for that.

I have been told by very close friends that I am too cemented in my beliefs. If I think something is wrong, it is extremely hard to convince me otherwise. I assess things quickly, and I rarely find a reason to sway, once a situation seems clear to me. That can certainly cause friction or even exasperation, when someone feels they're presenting new evidence, but it doesn't change my mind.

This is a very tough one to work on, because it often deals with perceived morality...and if I feel deep down that something is wrong, there's obviously no reason I would want to be open to the idea. I am a person of extremes, so it's like...no, I won't try to understand your perspective and decide that it's okay to skin snakes alive, after all... 🐍

It's just very tricky, because obviously I don't want to be a rigid, stubborn person, but when things seem crystal clear to me, it's almost impossible to imagine it another way. 🤔

le sigh I'd love to hear any friendly advice.

Since you brought it up, I’d suggest you listen to Michael Jackson!

Since it's a self-assessment, I'll keep the results to myself.

  • @WriterGF I thought the same thing.

We all have pros and cons; beauty and flaws; but sharing them to strangers on a forum is not something that holds any value for me because most of the people on here are strangers and the few who do know me DM me if I need suggestions or advice.

I am very aware of my shortcomings and defects, but to pick one as the worst is fool’s gold because it depends on the day and the context. It can change from one day to the next.

I'm probably most proud of my drive to better myself everyday, and trying to bring as much joy and happiness into the world as I can. I'm very stubborn and determined, which is how I got where I am, but I'm still open minded, an willing to look at both sides, as well as put others happiness before my own.

Depends on who knows me, my brother says I'm very patient, some people at work might think I'm an asshole cause I don't have time for screwing around and kissing ass, others would say im a nice guy, i love talking with everyone and doing nice things around the shop, ill always help out even when its not my job. People might also say I'm just big softy, and a giant teddy bear, unless you cross me the grizzly comes out, luckily violence is something I never resort to unless absolutely necessary, I've seen first hand how many times things can turn bad.

Yeah I still have stuff to work on, but I'm still better today than I was yesterday, and tomorrow I'll be better than I am today.

  • @TeddyCuddle45 The main thing is you are working on yourself.

  • @TheFunCartel Yes sir, just gotta take it one day at a time. Would be nice to be perfect, but I'm sure I'd get bored lol

  • I am proud of my "completeness". I don't excel in anything, but I have a pass mark in almost everything, including things unrelated to each other. This also helps to talk with different people.

I think my Achille's heel is the lack of perseverance, at least when it comes to master something that could make my name famous.

I don't know if other would agree, because I don't care too much about it. I would be more interested if they don't agree, in the sense of making me aware of something else. The first step to solve a problem is knowing (and accepting) that you have it!

  • @sunset----thank you for being the first to see the value of PUBLICLY sharing a little piece of yourself with the world---I know it takes courage to do so but its refreshing and expresses a lot about your character. The ability to acknowledge strengths and weaknesses to strangers takes courage and really makes what you say believable. INot that I am anyone important---but I have very positive opinion of you after you shared and feel anyone that experiences your love is extremely lucky---the occasional anger is just part of your overall passion and is of no concern!

  • @falco and teddy--thank you for your posts as well---its refreshing and when people share---hopefully it encourages others to do so or at a minimum self reflect---if we all did it more--the world would be a better place-----just a thought

  • @lonly--very kind words

  • What personal characteristic are you most proud of?

Honesty! My ability to always tell the truth …… (unless by telling THAT truth it would bring harm to my family.)

What characteristic are you least proud of?

When my confident nature becomes over-confident to the point of being cocky.

Would others that know you agree with your self-assessment

    Absolutely

  • Self Assessment- How didn’t I find out about this app sooner lol

  • don't feel bad--I can barely tie my shoes

  • Six months ago, a co-worker called me a "f*cking asshole."

Last week, the same co-worker called me just plain "asshole."

    I'm improving.

  • positive movement is always great---even if its slow

  • @KnightlyCuddles There is nothing wrong with being a little cocky or thinking a lot of yourself as long as you can back it up.

    @TxTom Whoa! You go! LOL.

  • @achetocuddle "Cocking" a brow and slowly nodding

  • @TxTom: Great! You reminded me of this one: «I got called pretty today. Well, actually, the full statement was "you’re pretty annoying", but I only focus on positive things».

For me, it's all a bit related.

I'm most proud of the fact that folks tend to feel comfortable around me easily. I'm regularly told I have a "peaceful aura" or something similar, so folks have no problem spending time with me.

What I'm least proud of is that sometimes I allow so many people to get close to me that I recognize too late that I don't have the literal or emotional time or space to be there for all of them. This leads to broken expectations. I'm very aggressively working on this now.

I mainly hear about the peaceful aura thing from my friends and new people I meet so I'd say the people around me would agree with this assessment. I don't quite understand why folks feel so calm around me, though.
